Amazing spanish decor
by persilam at Citysearch
This place has a nice little parking lot situated in the back of the restaurant. I went for lunch and it wasn't crowded at all and we were seated promptly. The nachos were very delicious, but I found my fajitas (chicken) to be very bland. The service was average but the decor was beautiful. Wouldn't go back for the food necessarily, there are a lot of better mexican restaurant in the area!
- Pros: Convenient parking
Great food, small portions and high prices

This place is like really expensive Mexican food. The average entree is $17-20 and the appetizer is from $9-12. Also, unlike other Mexican food places, the portions here are really small and can barely fill one person up. I do like their ceviche, but I'm not sure if I'd go again. Plus, valet is $7!!!
Good Mexican

I thought Spanish kitchen was good, but not great. The food is pretty basic, but good. Fun for groups and casual dinner. I would reccomend the fajitas and the taco salad. The chips and salsa are good too. It's not too expensive and pretty good. Give it a try.
- Pros: Good Mexican at Great Value
- Cons: None
OK food, pretty good atmosphere if it's packed, service is below standard

My friend and I went to Spanish Kitchen the other night and we were seated next to a D-list celebrity. We ordered the chicken tostada ensalada and chicken fajita. The chicken in my tostada salad was incredibly dry and his chicken in his fajita was dry and not very tasty nor appetizing. The beer is way overpriced, a corona was 6 bucks! Overall it is pretty affordable, but then again all mexican restaurants are. Our waitress Trish was somewhat insincere and pushy, she kept asking us if we were going to order any more drinks when it was obvious that we were done. It kind of seemed like all she cared about was how much our bill was going to come out to. It just seemed like every 5 seconds she would be like " you want some more water OR DRINKS or anything?" It was like no we're fine all ten times.
- Pros: good for large groups
- Cons: Service needs to be improved, Beer is expensive, parking
It's ok, not that great.

I went here for lunch and was not impressed with their food. Maybe I have to try it one more time. We were seated promptly cause there was not that many people there. I had a pineapple refreshment that was watered down. I'm not to fond of paper napkins. We were told we could only sit outside eventhough no one was sitting inside. I guess they wanted to attract customers. I don' t know how that works.
Over priced Taco Bell Stand

First off i think it should say mexican kitchen, second food was just ok. atmosphere is a place where people wanna be seen, thats about it. Glorified Hollywood scene for people that wanna be seen and wanna be something. Drinks on the other hand are amazing!
- Pros: parking was killer, valet is the way to go...
- Cons: nothing other then what i said.
Would go back

Good food, excellent service. The decoration is beaustiful and the customer service is attentive and fast. Would definitely go back.
- Pros: Ambience
Great ambiance but not worth the price.

The waitress was nice and knowledgable yet incredibly slow. The wait on food took forever, the portions were tiny and the drinks overpriced. They made mistakes upon mistakes on our orders and really, no free chips & salsa?!! After stating that they would be able to make seperate checks to make it easier on us, they refused and left us with a single 1000$ bill to figure out amongst 20 people. Nice looking place but the service and food could have been much, much better for what it's worth.
- Pros: great scene, vast menu
- Cons: food portions vs. price, service, hostess POINTED to where we we're seated rather than leading us.
Grand Central Cafe - an undiscovered jewel
by mielazucar at Citysearch
This little cafe is right next to 500west, a boutique hotel inhabiting what was the YMCA for many years. The cafe actually opens into the hotel, so it is accessable from both the street as well as the hotel. There are some amazing old black and white photos of the city, as well as the train station that still stands several blocks away. It is a perfect breakfast spot, especially if you are at the W, right around the corner!
OVERPRICED!!

I took my family for Mother's Day to the Spanish Kitchen. The decor and ambience was great. The menu looked good, cant say the food wasnt good but not for the price. Could've had something better for less elsewhere. Now this place is definately not the place to have a mixed drink. I ordered a pitcher of Margarita which was $46 and it was lemonade on ice WHERE'S THE TEQUILA?? For that price I expect to taste the Tequila. I asked the waiter to fix it, he took the pitcher and came back with the same exact Margarita. I dont think he ever did anything to spike it he just basically wanted to shut me up. Only thing I thought was nice was the rose they gave my family. Most likely the cost of the rose was already included in the pitcher of the weak margarita.Would definately not go back!
- Cons: NO PARKING
