Finger Food
by peter7621
Food was just fine until my wife noticed the chef/ cook reaching into the shredded lettuce bowl with his bare fingers, forking it into his mouth, and then wiping his fingers on his apron. We were then served our dinners using this self same lettuce.
I would not have said anything, except it made me so ticked off... if this guy has something I don't want on his hands it's going in my mouth... just wanted to stop it also going into your mouth too. (This review is for the Bistro downstairs only).
- Pros: Ambiance, food.
- Cons: Sharing with the chef/ cook.
Best Fondu I've ever Had
by Barbara90210
I love this restaurant. I have been for lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch. The fondu is great. I love shopping with my daughter and then stopping in for fondu and salad. It's one of my favorite restaurants! Service is very good. Exceptional ambiance upstairs. I enjoy sitting outside - - and people watching. It's located near the fountain, so there is so much to keep us entertained.
- Pros: Easy location
worst hugely disappointing and insulting(food wise)!!!!!!!!!

Succulent fruit of the sea (oyster on the 1/2 shell) is what I longed for; dirty stinky tasting feet is what I got.
Of course I returned them. I can only pray physically I do not contract some vial disease nor to dismiss the detestable branding on my brain.
The $15.00 blt contained 3 cuts from 1/2 pc bacon on one side of 1/2 sandwich.
My $10.00 bloody mary was overpowered with worstershire sauce. No condiments and no liquor AND since the waiter whom I must say was very nice just did not make it as a server.(maybe a Dr.) The poor gal trying to light the candles did all the extra stuff which should have been the norm, caught grief from the bartender complaining the server should be handling the Witch(me)
I politely reminded the gal to inform the ((Ihate to call him a bartender (not to insult the profession) ))mixer of drinks pphft. He needs to go back to the school of libations. +++ Do they think the patron cannot hear their
innuendos and remarks.
PLUS the false advertising on the menu discribing .
OH WELL!!!
If this is your idea of a good time Morels is for you.

- Pros: none
- Cons: everything possible
It was great customer service.

My friend and I have loved this restaurant because of Patty, who worked there
until recently. She was always pleasant and efficient. It was a joy being served by her.
We miss her, and now we do not have a reason to go back. I am sorry.
- Pros: A beautiful view of the grove
- Cons: we miss Patty.
Horrible service. No apologies.
by reddesk
The waiter never brought our water or silverware (I had to ask for it). The steak was overcooked, we never got refills or our check, I finally had to go find a manager myself to get our check and it still took 25 more minutes to get it even though there were very few people there. I asked for a to go box which also never came so I left half of my overcooked $32 steak to waste. Nothing was taken off, nor did anyone apologize.
- Pros: outdoor patio
- Cons: everything else.
Horrible-do not waste your time

Attempted to have dinner here with my husband. It was 5:30 and the place was not full, yet looked to be fully staffed. So there is no excuse for the service we rec'd. **Seated and ordered water , drinks, and place setting from waitress who could barely speak English. **Bread came about 10 minutes later and we asked busboy if he could check on drinks, water, place settings. **Waitress came back and took our dinner order and we asked again for water, drinks, place settings or at least a knife and napkin to start on the bread/butter **Sat there for about 10 more minutes and nothing came so we got up to leave **Stopped the clueless manager (blonde young woman) who was roaming the room in a fog to tell her that we were leaving, to please cancel our order and recounted the lack of service we rec'd. **And her reply was, "oh...OK!". and then a woman sitting at a table next to us said, "hey I got this coke i didn't order...maybe it was yours!". Nah..we ordered martinis:-) Now I was a waitress so I am overly empathetic and patient if somebody is new or the place is understaffed but here is a situation where the owner has chosen to employ a waitress, busboy and manager who are completely inept.

i decided to have a light meal. i started off with fish soup which was unfortunately lacking flavor. my friend had the "famous french soup", which was satisfactory, but not worthy of finishing. our waitress was apologetic for the slow bar service, but this seems to be a common complaint of this restaurant. we went with the cheese platter which was a safe bet.
- Pros: nice atmosphere. great place to people watch. nice view of the grove.
- Cons: food. service.
YUM!
by hotkatchina
The lobster ravioli is amazing here, definitely the best thing on the menu. The servers don't know a lot about the cheese selection so have something in mind-like the smoked gouda (yum) and i assure you they'll have it. Best french onion soup i've ever had... ever, ever, ever...
Manager accepted $20 and gave our reserved table away
by petuniainsect
We made reservations for a group on 9. We bumped them back from 7pm to 7:30 pm and were asked to promise to show up because they were holding the table for us. Our full group showed up at 7:30 only to watch the manager accept $20 and give our table away. When we called him on it, the host tried to blame it on us not showing up at 7pm. Terrible awful criminal treatment. They missed out because we had some wealthy wine drinkers in our group. We left.
Faux urban bistro in the heart of the Grove shopping mall.
by Contributor
In Short
This French eatery has all the trappings of a Parisian bistro re-creation, from the zinc bar to the pressed-tin ceiling. Downstairs, the dining room is operates like a busy urban eatery; upstairs, a more serious vibe prevails, with roomy, ruby-red booths, crisp, white tablecloths and rolling carts that deliver diners' meals. The upstairs serves prime beef, while the more modest cafe offers working-class French fare. Bubbling pots of traditional kirsch-spiked Gruyere fondue are popular.
