Awesome!
by abfr
Food is great quality and the portions are huge!! The pricing is mid-range ($20-25 per person) but considering the portions, it's an awesome deal. We have tried different sushi restaurants and always end up coming back here. My girlfriend and I never leave hungry or dissatisfied. It's a tiny place so it can get busy but it's worth the wait. Staff is friendly. I highly recommend Maki and Sushi!
- Pros: Great portions and quality for decent price.
- Cons: parking can be bad
I USE TO love this place.

This place had the bestest sushi ever!! I use to work next door - and they would always bring me my food if I ordered and didn't have time to wait. UBBER friendly - use to be.
The bobby, owner/chef was very generous with his portions, and always comps appetizers especially for the regulars. However, ever since he hired a different chef it hasn't been the same. The sushi is mediocre at best...
The servers are not as smart or friendly as they use to be. I asked for a tempura california roll with extra eel sauce and no onions - it came with no extra sauce, and butt loads of spring ONIONS!! "but they're NOT onions" she said. NOT SO SMART!! Then when I asked for the extra sauce - she said the kitchen was closed. LAME!!! Needless to say the roll I didn't eat was her tip!
- Pros: OWNERS ARE FRIENDLY - if the owner is the chef that night, you lucked out!!
- Cons: Dumb servers!!
A real gem!

Don't be put off by the strip mall location or the ridiculously low prices - this place is absolutely great. Owner/sushi chef Bobby definitely knows how to take care of his customers, especially the regulars. And regulars is what you'll find - I see many of the same people eating here week after week - like me, they can't stop coming back for more. It's hard to believe that fish this good can be such a bargain, but we always walk out of here really full, totally satisfied, and wondering how it only came out to $20-$25 a person (for a la carte sushi, drinks and dessert) including the tip.
- Pros: Super value, great fish, friendly staff
- Cons: None. OK, parking can be annoying, and it can get busy on weekends, but only because it's so good.
Best Sushi !!!

Great hole in the wall!

I accidentally found this place about 2 years ago and can't stop going there since! The service is (usually) above expectations and the sushi itself is definitely great! The wait-staff makes recommendations JUST IN CASE they believe you ordered something you may not like. Their is just enough seating for 36 or so people (+bar seats) which makes it quiet enough for personal conversations! Definitely a place to go if you're around the area!
- Pros: Fresh fish, Knowledgeable staff
- Cons: Small parking spaces, Closed Sunday
The Best

The Best Sushi in the SGV!! Bobby 'sushi chef' is super nice and makes your meal a special event. My favorite resturant by far!!
- Pros: Awesome Food, Good Price, Great Service
Great place for lunch - friendly service

This is a family-run sushi restaurant that I go to regularly with my girlfriend for lunch. The sushi is awesome and the prices are reasonable. She likes the frilly lobster-roll-special (which is very good) while I like the philly rolls and unagi.
The people who run this place are very friendly and the service is perfect. I've been to more "hip" sushi places, but this is a great place for a good sushi lunch!
- Pros: Friendly service, Great sushi, Fair pricing
love it!

This is my new favorite sushi place! I've liked everything I've tried, and since there are tons of items on the menu, I'm sure I'll be back to try the rest! I've tried the Udon, M&S #3, Crazy Monkey and "My All"
