Its a dive bar, pure and simple, but a good one. The red and black decor does seem to want to be hipster, but its not quite so pretentious. I am not sure what the previous reviewer knows what he's talking about. The soju stuff is still there. It tastes pretty good, but I cant really drink it because it gives me a massive headache. I go pretty often and there isnt any comedy night that I have ever seen. There are alot of bands on the weekend. I've seen some really good ones and some bad ones. If youre ever there and have a chance to catch a local band called "Meet me at the Pub" you should definitely stick around. They are pretty great (if you like the Dub, Sublime-ish type music). One of the drawbacks for me is that the nights are not consistent. One friday theres a rock band. The next friday you go and its a hip-hop DJ. Youre never really sure what youre going to get. I've met the owner. He's a nice guy. He's got good energy and you can tell he's putting in alot of effort trying to build the place up. Not sure he'll make it. Its a tough location. This place has a great staff. It's not the stuffy, corporate, big chain type of bar. The bartenders are friendly, talkative, and overall, just nice people. I have a good time hanging out, chatting, while I have a beer or two. Visit a couple of times and youre on a first name basis. Agatha is my favorite bartender. Take a second to stop by, if youre in the area. You should give it a shot. Its MY local beer dive.
