Don't waste your time

Every good review on here was made by staff because they know the place is horrible and losing business. Not only are the doorman rude but the drinks are weak, expensive and its take forever to get one. Waste of money. The owner sits at the end of the bar looking miserable. Never seen walking around friendly to the clientel. If it wasn't for us he wouldnt have a business. I've also seen him fighting with one of the bartendars before. I think they are a couple but I've seen her at other bars with other men. If you flirt with the tattooed bartendar you will be able to stay after hours and drink and party (sniff, sniff).

this time it sucked, better luck next time

So I used to go to Clear when it opened up and actually it used to be a decent place, but I stopped by recently on Friday night with a party of 6 and found to myself leaving with a feeling of great disappointment. I am not going to judge the crowd, but I will judge the service at the place. It takes at least 3 to 4 songs to get a drink and not because the two people serving the bar are busy serving drinks, no it’s because they are busy blabbing and flirting with opposite s*x which is surely a beneficial perk of the job, but hey, keep them in suspense and please take my money, I am about to drop a hundred or two on few rounds of drinks, but with that type of service it comes down to my friends and me not having a decent time, our ladies angry that they did not have a good time and, well it really is up to them, very poor business practice. The manager did try to make it as easy as possible for everyone and security is pretty good, these are very experienced people, but the bar, oh man, the bar and the service in it is really inexperienced and if they are, I really wouldn’t want them working at my place.

Perhaps til next time, and then… I’ll be hoping for when I shall return, I will be pleasantly surprised with top level service and still this crowd that can’t really be judged by anyone.

Cool & EZ just like its name

Clear was a very pleasant surprise for me because it was my first time really trying out night life in the valley (valley + night life used in the the same sentence, go figure?!) Props to my boy Karl for putting me on to this best kept secret, though I came to find out its celebrating its 7th year, guess I'm the late one, eh).

Convenient location for me as a valley resident and very pleasant commercial strip - not Hollywood hectic! The bartenders do just that - tend the bar - and they do it well, tending to the guests all night and mix up the flavor nicely with male & female staff.

All the while, the DJs set up the vibe sumthin proper like with a head-nodding soundtrack from breakbeat to new wave to dub and of course hip hop brining it all together with dem butta verses.

The ooooonnnlly kind of annoying thing is that the bar is sticky to the touch. It may sound petty, but I'm really not tryin' to peel my forearm skin off the bar as a sip a 12 dollar cordial, naa'mean?!?! Strange, too, because its a nice looking curved, wood bar. Definitely subtracts a 1/2 star from this otherwise 3+ star lounge. Not sure what's up with that but I have a contractor who can shellack it or whatever to "Clear" that sticky mug out.

At any rate, just as soon as I log off here I'm headed down there to smoke stogies on their enclosed outdoor patio, so you do the math . . .

• Cons: Could use a hostess, bar top is sticky (literally)!

Stay Clear from 'Clear'

I think the staff the ones that give good reviews and said that they're HOT. The tattoos and the piercing that attract the girls...lol..give me a break!!! This job probably the only job they could get since other places won't hire such jerks like them. If you are in the Valley go to other places, with inexpensive drinks and better crowds and music. And more experience and intelligent bartenders and this place is small and empty, dry....the bartenders only nice to good looking girls who are willing to give them their numbers...for after party...Stay away from this place...

all the guys that work there are hottt. Especially the bartender Caleb. OMG he Is so HOTTTTTT. Ryans Hot too but he is too much of a bad boy for me. wink wink. Anyways badass place and it is a guarenteed good time.

Had a great experience

I went to clear on my birthday and me and my friends had the greatest time. We had bottle service and the prices were so much better than hollywoods.

There were a lot of cute guys especially the bartender with all the tatoos. He was HOOOTTTTT. Anyways it was a blast and if you wanna have a good time and not deal with any deusche bags like in hollywood go check out clear!!!!!

Blaaa

Very rude bouncers....very empty place even on friday/saturday nights. The DJ was very inexperience, the music was horrible. If you are non-white, you'll get the look from the bartenders. They also watered down the drinks. You'll need 5 drinks to just get buzz, and very expensive. If you are men wants to meet girls..you'll have to compete with very touchy security guards. The worst lounge in the valley...The worst experience for me and my buddies.

The reason NOT to go to Hollywood

Ive been to just about every hotspot in hollywood etc...and this place really is a gem. First thing I noticed going in was that I could get in without it being an absolute nightmare with some special guest list. The owner is apparently a former photographer who outdid himself when he designed the joint. Clear reminded me of bars in south beach, Miami with all its clean lines and simple decor. This was the first and only place in the valley side of town that ever kept me from driving into mainstream Hollywood and getting treated like garbage from some idiot door guy. Personally, I enjoy thursdays there but the weekends are a little more intense. If you want some stellar night life check this place out... the entertainment value of this place will have you coming back for more and giving Hollywood a break.

Really nice ambiance

My gf and i were bored one night and decided to try out some bars in Studio City. Luckily, I live right around Laurel and Ventura and found Clear!! This is now my new favorite place to be specially if you want a Hollywood crowd! Why go to Hollywood If you can stay with in the heart of Studio City? Single ladies gather up and definitely try Clear. The guys are hot, hot, hot! Just had one little problem: It was so hard to get my guy friends in... Because they did have to wait a while because one of them had to wear some stupid flip-flops.

• Pros: I love how tropical the smoking patio is : )
• Cons: Smoking patio should be bigger
