This huge bookstore is certainly a paradise for every bookworm. I often visit this place to browse through the latest book releases, listen to international sounds or just saunter about the book shelves. If you have a special wish, or your favorite book is not in stock they will order it for you. A quiet and easy atmosphere invites to an extensive book browsing while schooled staff is very vigilant and friendly.
- Pros: Variety of offered products
One of the best bookstores anywhere because of its size and store design.

This is one of my favorite hang outs because I can walk over there browse through all types of selections as well as comfortably plunking myself down to read with coffee and sandwich. I buy from this store to support this location.
The store itself is airy, big, sunny, and still very cosy. I've spent hours there and really love everything about this B & N. I hope they stay here forever for my kids to go to when they want to hang out in a bookstore.
When they used to have armchairs near the 2nd floor big windows, I used to enjoy the sunlight and relax while reading and drinking coffee while listening to music. Just so wonderful and relaxing.
The only draw back right now is that there are so many tourists that it gets really crowded and annoying even sometimes during weekdays. Weekends are a nightmare!!! I never go to the Grove on the weekend if I can help it. I love the Grove/Farmer's market too, they have great shops. Food at Farmers' market is in general crappy but will feed you in a pinch if you feel like paying $10+ for crappy food. It's a shame since the atmosphere is nice and festive. I just wish they had amazing food at farmers' market but I guess they are doing well and won't change.
- Pros: Great bookstore in every way!!!
- Cons: Can be too crowded on weekends.
Very large, but not overly busy

Located at The Grove mall, this particular Barnes & Noble is awesomely huge. The selection of course is great due to this size. The checkout line moves quickly. The arrangement is pretty good for a multi-floor location. I wouldn't use this location for ordering, due to the problematic parking associated with mall, but otherwise, kudos to the designer and the management.
An easy-access resource for books of any stripe, with impressive children's, business and bestseller sections.

Established in 1873 and still thriving, this mainstream bookseller boasts almost 600 locations and does brisk online business as well. Ubiquitous and well organized, Barnes & Noble arranges its huge book selection in 22 user-friendly categories, from Art and Architecture to Romance and Travel. Stores host seasonal book signings and family-friendly "Storytimes." Many locations also offer music, movies and cafes that serve Starbucks coffee.
Best Bookstore in L.A.

The best bookstore any where. The location at the New Grove/Farmers Mkt., is the best. It has three floors, an open atrium, a cafe' on the third floor, with an open patio or a closed-in section with a view of the Grove (street/trolley). Damn near perfect for a bookstore, and the best store the Grove has to offer.
- Pros: selection, location, patio
- Cons: parking
