This is the "college bar for" Sunset Strip...not literally...as it is for 20somethings, not college kids, but has that familiar "lived in" vibe. Go here for happy hour every day (cheap 2X1) and its packed everyday. Do not go here on a blind date (as this girl sitting next to me was doing last Friday). You wait awhile for the bathroom in a line, but its worth the wait as the graffiti in the bathroom has that LA creativity to it and makes for a nice personal break from the sloppiness waiting outside the door. No bar service, waitresses only so you have to snag their attention. On this note, they are terrible. I live right across the street, go here frequently, and there are new ones all the time. You can never find them, they dont come back to your area ever, you have to beg them to take your order....overall, they are the opposite of the "too friendly, I'm your best bro" cheeseball attitude of Saddle Ranch next door.....this is Cabo's biggest weakness. If they had even one person that regulars could identify with or like, it would make this the best spot on the strip....but no, thats why we go to trocadero (oddly owned by the same people). Cabo is dead by 9PM and closed by the time the night really kicks in. Sundays and Fridays are the best. I once sat in here on a Saturday night and nobody was even there. This is sorta for like people who wish they lived at the beach, or just want to pretend they do. Food is greasy, and its easy to steal green plastic cups from here if you want a souvenior.
Pros: Happy Hour spot missing from the strip
Cons: Bathroom line, better mexican food everywhere else
