Avoid always

This is my first review and I feel compelled to give one due to my experience. The bartendar served me flat wine and when called on it made me feel like I was out of line. And I drink La Crema on a regular basis. It's Olive Garden food trying to be Mastro's cuisine to best describe it. Top that off with a waitress who said when called on it:, "I'm sorry, I pushed the wrong key. You're right, you had 2 beers not 3. I'm just so out of it."
- Pros: It's Local
- Cons: It's Awful. Older crowd who has had a few too many in their lifetime.
Don't go there for the food...
by funtaste at Citysearch
I have been there 3 times since they opened. Their salads & app's are ok but the main courses are really awefull... I tried the chicken piccata... it was a chicken breast topped with 4 capers... I got their specialty pasta !!! I couldn't eat it... it was totally dry, no taste at all and heavy... I went on the website and there is this huge bio for their executive Chef... I guess is not there that often. Overall, the food is really bad, one of the worse in the Village... And it happened to me 3 times on a rool. I will not go back.
- Cons: Terrible food
incredible specials
by willsurf4beer at Citysearch
I went to the HT Grill with my family for a patio dinner and took a trip to France! As it turn out, they have a feature every Thursday called "culinary excursions" where the specials are from a different country each week. Anyhow, after an appetizer of lobster bisque, like silk, the entrees of Salmon en Croute and Chicken Provincale made us true believers. Our dinner was complete with a Gran Marnier Souffle that melted in our mouths. We'll be back...
- Pros: great lighting and warm tones, valet parking, liked the bread
- Cons: Wet table -
great atmosphere, food and service

I have been to HT Grill many times and have never been disappointed. I especially like it for entertaining out of town guests. My friends always comment about the wonderful bistro atmosphere, knowledgeable servers and the delicious food with its excellent presentation. Weather permitting, the outside patio is also a plus.
Great management, great bartenders, awesome atmosphere!!!

I have been going to HT for about a year now. I love the atmosphere -- especially the outside fire pit. And the bartenders are exceptional and make really great drinks. The only drawback is the food. They need to get more of a variety on their menu like adding newer items and getting rid of the items that aren't very popular. If they also lowered their prices...that would make a lot of people happy. Overall...i really like it and the people that hang out there are one of a kind!!!
- Pros: Great atmosphere, nice people, good management
- Cons: Food is mediocre
Worst service in the South Bay
by pepcoe at Citysearch
Hostess snubbed my party at the door. VERY RUDE. In addition, I was standing in front of her and she was talking to one of the servers about not putting too many people in her serving area because she didn't want to serve a lot of tables.
Not worth the money or the headache. Head across the street to some of the other local restaurants with friendlier service and good food.
swingin' good time
by iamzamora at Citysearch
Thursday nights at the Grill is a sweet time. Its good live swing music and from 7 to 9 theres a dance instructor... Sylvia, there to teach anyone who wanted to learn how to "Lindy-hop". I have always wanted to learn how and was even ready to lay it out ...on the floor with my friend, especially after one or two cocktails. It kind of has that loungy feel downstairs where the band and dance floor are. The place is cool...next time Im gonna check out the fire pit out on the patio.
- Pros: live swing music, swing instructor, dinner
- Cons: valet vs.street
The new place to hang in the riviera village
by soosiefoodie at Citysearch
The best thing about the new HT Grill in Redondo Beach is the patio fire pit, equipped with lounge chairs and waiter service. We had a blast while we waited for our table. Once we sat down I found that the service was terrific, our martinis were jumbo size and our appetizers were delicious. I had the crab tower with some sort of wasabi flavored sauce and it was awsome. I also had the seared ahi dinner and loved it. My friends and I will definately be back and I would recommend the HT grill to anyone.
- Pros: great food, great service, the firepit
- Cons: a little expensive, loud inside
HT Grill - A DISAPPOINTING Village Bistro
by lillygabriel at Citysearch
If you just want to spend some money on dinner - go to HT Grill in Redondo.
The best thing about our experience was the bread brought to our table by our friendly busboy kevin. Sit on the front patio if you'd like to inhale the cigarette smoke of every diner, wait and kitchen staff in need of a puff out by the valet stand.
All of our food - appetizer, salad and meals (cioppino and salmon) - was of an average dining experience. AND our server was a grump when we asked about the specials and wine.
The only safe bet for this place (which did I mention was a big disappointment) is to go for a nightcap and sit by the outdoor fireplace. Sorry HTs the Village Bistro is a great concept in an area in need of some non-bar dining but you just don't shape up.
- Pros: Outdoor Fireplace
- Cons: Price, Average Food, Loud, Crowded
