I have been buying Hansen's cakes for the better part of 20 years. I have NEVER been disappointed in any way regarding quality, service, price, appearance. I gave a wedding cake to a friend as a gift for her wedding and the guestes LOVED it!! Anyone who does not appreciate these works of art should just go the grocery for their cakes-their loss!!!

Great place to custom order cakes

Great place, I ordered a custom cake from this venue for an event - cake with a photograph image.

You can also cake taste which is a neat - try before you buy.

Prices can climb when you load up the options, but otherwise the standard prices are reasonable. - rush order, image on cake, custom flavors.

• Cons: Can get pricey with optional ad ons

Not very nice

So I wanted to order a cake for my wife's birthday. I decided to call and ask about pricing. The woman who answered could not have been more rude. I did notice in the reviews that their customer service skills were lacking...you would think they would try to be a little nicer. I wanted infomation on the types of cakes and flavors. The woman simply seemed angry that I would ask about pricing. I don't think I would ever try doing business with this company again. If they are rude over the phone, I can imagine what they are like in person. They may have good cakes, but I also like doing business with merchants who care about customer service.

NEVER AGAIN! GET YOUR CAKE FROM ANYWHERE BUT HERE!

This place is a joke. The original Mr. Hansen must be turning in his grave. What used to be a reputable place has turned into a dirty, run down place run by people from the wrong side of the tracks. It is blatantly obvious that the most recent 5 star reviews were all done from one Hansens employee (on the same exact day with the same tone of voice?? Yeah, right!). There are more 1 star ratings for this place than anything else and that's because the woman managing it is on commission and will try to rip you off. I had this fact confirmed by the other employees there! I recently went in to get a cake for a special occasion. First of all, the place is a disaster. The carpet and walls are filthy, the display shelves are bare, the signs were childlishly hand drawn, etc. But, I knew they made decent cakes, so I ignored the dismal appearance of the place. One of the girls gave me a price that I felt was fair. When it was time to pay the deposit, some other woman who claimed she was the manager came busting in and started badgering the girl right in front of me. Because I wanted dots on my cake, instead of $300 for the cake, it was now going to be $1200! I was dumbfounded and asked why placing simple dots would cost $900 more. The manager went on with some BS story about the complexity of this process. What??? It's not like the cake was going to feed an army of people! Just a simple 3 tiered cake with one inch dots is what I wanted! So I asked to speak to Mr. Hansen himself. Basically this man cowered in the back of the bakery and refused to come out. This is HIS bakery but he's allowed the "manager" to run this place to the ground. However, not all of the employees are like the manager. Most are helpful and will try to help you but whenever the boss lady comes around, forget it! She oversees every order and tries to rip you off because it goes in her own pocket! If you must get a cake from Hansens, go to the one in Beverly Hills! AWFUL PLACE!

Hansens employees write these reviews!!

Beware this bakery writes the 5 star reviews so they dont look like the bad bakery they really are. If you look at the recent 5 star reviews on fairfax and tarzana its all from the same people and the same day. They dont even sound like they are real customers it sounds like advertisment, also if you read what they say on their reviews it says the same thing on their website. Point is that i tried hansens twice and each time there was something wrong with my cake and each time a complained there was other people complaining about theirs!!! They even charge you extra to fix their mistakes!!!

Got the kraps at Hansens

My boyfriend bough me a Hansen?s Cake for my birthday, it tasted great but I had the worst case of the the kraps for a week. I thought it was the food we had for dinner but it ended up being the cake. Every time I came back to have leftover cake, I got sick. It took me three days and many rolls of toilet paper to realize it was the cake. I called the bakery to let them know and I could hear the girl laughing.... Just wait until she has a cake!

Our Family Tradition, best cake, best service

My parents, my children, and myself have all used Hansen's to make our wedding cakes. The quality of the bakery is legendary, and I have had only good experiences with the bakery. It's really cool to be able to ook back at phots from 68 years ago and see my parents cake, knowing that I can order the exact same cake today with the confidence that it will come out just as beautiful and tasty now.

I know that when I do order the cake that there are no changes or refunds allowed, but I respect that they stick to their policies. With the business world the way it is today, it is nice to know that Hansen's is still around after all of these years, and that by having their policies in place, they must play a big role in their ability to do so many cakes every day for all of these years.

Celebrity Cakes, Best Taste, Best look, closed Mondays, great service

I found this bakery on citysearch when I was looking for a place to get my wedding cake. When I told my friends that I was going to hansens they all wanted to come with me for the free tasting party. We had a great time nibbling on the different samples and looking through the endless designs they offered before we decided on a simple stacked three tier.

The cake arrived on time and was beautiful.When it came time to cut the cake (like seven hours later!) it was perfect, and my husband still talks about how delicious it was. now we get all of our anniversary and other occasion cakes there, and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Tops in the Cake arena, best cake with the coolest designs.

With all of the talent in the world today, Hansen's Cakes still stands out in the cake decorating arena. Whatever I can think of, they never say no, they just make the cake in the most fabulous manner. The best part? The cake is delicious! Really!

I was told the story about how seven generations of Hansens have baked cakes through the years. Thank goodness that I live in Los Angeles and can have a piece of Hansen's Cake whenever the mood strickes me!

The girls in the office know what to recommend and care about how the cakes wind up. They make sure that each order is carefully processed and if there is ever any mistake at all, it is sent right back to the decorators who fix it immediately. I know that this is just cake, but it really isn't. It is art!
