Fun night out, but way too dim
by astrid1987 at Citysearch
Went there for drinks for my 21st birthday, very friendly doorman, quick bartenders and STRONG DRINKS. I am not kidding. We ordered Jim Beam and Cokes and it was like getting a glass of Beam with a shot of coke. So you get your moneys worth. My only complaint is that there were way too many people in there for such a small space, and it was very dark. The photo that accompanies this listing is misleading! I would go there again though.
- Pros: No mean doorman and friendly bartenders
- Cons: way too dark in there
best bar in studio city
by famousblueraincoat at Citysearch
i love this place! jukebox rocks! people sometimes dance spontaneously. room is dark. crowds are good. drinks are stiff. cool little back room for privacy and fireplace. sometimes it can get really crowded tho and might even have a line. that's the only downside.
- Pros: great vibe, lighting, jukebox
- Cons: sometimes there's a line
fun spot in the valley

this place reminds me of the chalet in eagle rock, which probably isn't surprising since it's owned by the same people. good drinks and great music selection on the jukebox. probably not the spot you want to be at if you're looking for a place where you can have a good conversation with someone, since it gets pretty loud. there is sometimes a line to get in on the weekends, but the wait isn't bad.
Great bar not in Hollywood
by girlnextdoor7 at Citysearch
This is a great "local" bar if you don't want to make the trek into Hollywood. The drinks are strong and the bartenders are friendly. The only downside is martinis are $10 a pop. Otherwise it's got great seating, fun jukebox, and mood lighting (aka VERY dark). They even have a cute room with a fireplace. It's a good place to go with friends, but unfortunately it's not the type of place where you meet new people.
- Pros: Strong drinks & cool bartenders
- Cons: Very dark
A TRUE Lounge
by nickgerr at Citysearch
I went here with my roommate to meet up two girls we met at Jack in the Box a week before. We got up there around 11pm and there was a small line outside. After waiting for 10 minutes the bouncer finally let us in. It was pretty crowded inside and was a little difficult to move around. The room was filled with talking and soft music, and you hear more than you see because that place is sooo dark inside. Once we found the girls we went to the bar and got a couple drinks. Drinks were average priced, but VERY strong. It doesn't take much to catch a buzz in there. We stayed for about an hour and left to go eat.
- Pros: Strong Drinks!
- Cons: Lighting (which might be good for some)
A great catch!

After just moving to the valley a few months ago, this bar/lounge has become our new favorite local hangout. The people are chill, the bartenders call you by name and the drinks are strong. This is a great spot if you feel like avoiding the long lines and crowds of the city life and has a cool, casual environment. Watch out if you're sportin your beer goggles, the lighting is pretty low so you might not get what you think you see ;)
- Pros: Parking, Great Service, Good crowd
Upscale neighborhood lounge in the midst of the suddenly hot Valley nightlife scene.
by Contributor at Citysearch
The Scene
This nightlife gem is the first Valley foray by the trendsetting impresarios behind hipster hangouts like Daddy's and the 4100. The posh lounge attracts a mixed crowd of sexy Valley vixens, lounge lizards and coupled up combinations of the two. A long, narrow bar stretches across the length of the intimate, yet spacious main room. Plush, modern furnishings like cushy wraparound couches and polished dark wood comprise the rest of the low-lit interior. Eclectic jukebox selections from Jamiroquai to the Rolling Stones provide the just-loud-enough soundtrack.
The Draw
Sapphire's first come, first served door policy and non-reserved seating inside make it an ideal place to party without worrying about pretentious guest lists or bottle-service minimums. The initial lack of advertising created a steadily building word-of-mouth vibe, and now in-the-know barhoppers from neighboring nightspots--and greater L.A.--have moved in.
Groups

After going for 2 years, I had 55 of my peeps meet for my bday. The twelve locals that were there already when we all got there are all my friends now too. Cool people. Any large group can take over the space as long as they get there early; like before 9pm - no matter what day of the year it is. That's what the bartender told me to do. That's exactly what happened. Not a single hitch. Even kept my ice cream cake frozen for me.
Love that place. Thanks a lot. Again and again.

i was very surprised by the the recent change of crowd in this bar. i went the other day, on a tuesday, and it was filled with very loud and rowdy people. too bad, it used to be a cool place.
The Club Scene Is Great!!!

Saturday nights Blacc and Blue Ent. turns the party out!!! The security is friendly, the drinks are great, the bartenders are not rude and the poeple in cute. They played hip hop, R&B, Reggae and Reggaeton. It was great to get away from hollywood and especially those cops! Blacc and Blue Ent. really throws a great party there! Oh and did I mention they have live performances!!! It's a great place to network.
- Pros: drinks, atmosphere, music
