Food is good, attitude sucks
by Fourteener54
There are a lot of good greek restaurants in LA. La Petit has the right ingredients, location, decor, food.
The staff from the desk to the wait staff is got an attitude that reeks of ego.
- Pros: Good location, classic greek
- Cons: Price for value,
Food Was Excellent Service Was TERRIBLE!!!
by Wandera
I loved the food and would go back as long as I didn't see Mario there...
Mario was our waiter I think he might have been the Manager as well. He had an arrogance about himself... I have lived in Greece, France, and about 20 other countries around the world so I understand the difference from being arrogant and just being from another country with a different way about yourself.. This guy was ARROGANT.. The ONLY time we saw a smile from this man was when we gave him the credit card...
No offer of water when we sat down... Did not ask if I wanted a drink.
Again Food was Excellent !!!
Service was 0 Stars and 2 thumbs down...
In this Economy they should be very happy to have customers...
My favorite greek place!
by burgundys
We love this place and always take friends and family who are in town. The food is fantastic and the service is even better. It's an intimate setting with both indoor and outdoor seating. We always make a night of it when we go because the food is so good we just can pass anything up!
- Pros: great food, service, intimate dining
way too expensive for the quality
by winey1
I was looking for a Greek restaurant close to my house and my neighbor recommended this place. Although the food was good, I found the prices to be SO out of line. $18 for a plate that had 3 small mounds of dip and 2 stuffed grape leaves???!!! I had one of the fish specials that was good, nothing spectacular, and my friend had the other fish special that he wasn't crazy about. I go to Greece every year and this is basic taverna food that is not priced accordingly. Over $110, not including tip, for 1 app, 2 entrees, and 2 glasses of wine total for an ok neighborhood place is not some place I'd go back to.
Very romantic spot
by doll83
My vegetarian dish was delectable. I ordered a vegetarian entree which was very extensive so that it could easily make up for the main dish. It was generously piled with diverse Greek specialties which contained diverse tasty dips, cooked potatoes, a tangy eggplant dip, warm pita bread, delicious rice stuffed cabbage leafs and various cooked veggies. The atmosphere amid a dim lit setting was very romantic. Staff was friendly, professional and very obliging.
- Pros: Food, ambience
Casual date spot along Larchmont with festive atmosphere and sharable portions.

In Short
A relaxed, unpretentious atmosphere marks this restaurant's charming dining room, which resonates with lively Greek music; the sidewalk patio provides ideal people-watching in the village. Mezethes, an appetizer combo with caviar dip, tzatziki, hummus, stuffed grape leaves and Greek meatballs, all split well between two. Filo-wrapped chicken Olympia comes with melted cheeses, roasted peppers and spices. Moussaka's layers of eggplant, zucchini, potatoes and ground beef snuggle under bechamel sauce.
Food was good, Service was horrible
by creyes27
I have been to this restaurant before. The food is very good but, I have to say the service is quite horrific. After ordering a large salad and two appetizers to split between 3 people for lunch, she advised that there is a minimum $10 per person. So we ordered another entree we wouldn't even eat to please her. She was quite rude as she smirked at our table with the other servers at the front of the restaurant. When we were finished with lunch the extra entree remained untouched. We asked for a to-go-box and there was a hair in the to-go container. I asked for another container and she snatched it from my hand. Even though the food is good, I don't think I'll go there again b.c the service was so poor.
- Pros: Good Food
- Cons: Horrible Service
Crappy Service for Mediocre Food
by junk2gourmet
After a nice enjoyable evening walk on Larchmont (an oasis), we decided to give this greek restaurant a try. We stood at the podium for about 5 minutes and the maitre-d came by and asked us to wait just a moment to be seated. Just a few feet away, he chatted with people at the bar, answered a couple phone calls, walked in a circle and then seated us. We thanked him for finally seating us as he slowly turned away. He didn't smile once and he had a certain smugness and attitude like we were dining at l'orangerie or the like.
So who is our waiter? We didn't find out until after each of us took a trip to the bathroom (x4), spent some time texting our friends, and after a few sighs. 15 minutes is a long time to come and ask us what we wanted to drink or even to greet us. We asked for sodas and waters- no alchohol. Surprisingly, our refreshments were delivered right away by the helpers. So our waiter comes by to take our orders and we don't see him for the rest of the night. Our food took 45 minutes to arrive. Have you ever eaten at a place where everyone else is getting their food while you don't? It's infuriating especially when your waiter doesn't come by to apologize or to explain what is going on. We tried countless times to flag his attention, but he'd just turn his back like he was deaf. He even visited the table right behind us 11 times during this fiasco. Was it because they were having wine? So, I took a walk to the other side of the restaurant to ask the maitre-d to address this situation and he says that he would check on our food without even an apology. The helpers bring out the plates 10 minutes after.
By this time, we're all frustrated and have lost our appetites. The food was mediocre and cold except for the vegetable side. The pita bread was good though- had plenty of that while we tirelessy waited. Our waiter was clueless, the maitre-d was stuck up, food was cold, but the helpers were quite attentive and hard working.
Great Pita Bread
by leparisienne
The pita bread is amazing with tzatziki and caviar cream. I ordered a delicious salmon which was served piping hot. The servers were friendly and always around to refill drinks and get you more bread. If you dine al fresco, there are tons of busy people with their cute dogs passing by. The only minor "negative" thing that didn't affect the taste although could turn some people off was that the Greek side salad contained some lettuce that had a slight browned edge like it wasn't dried well after being cut. I noticed this was the case for everyone's salad but it wasn't unsavory, and certainly didn't take away from a pleasant dining experience.
- Pros: Good food, service, and people watching spot
