Don't believe any of the negative comments written unless you're just not serious about getting in shape. If you are truly serious about getting in shape and can handle hearing the truth about what you need to do, then RPM is for you. Cynthia and Karyn are knowledgeable and motivating. I have been going to RPM for 5 years now and have done Bootcamp (the first time I lost 25 lbs. after my first child), spin classes, pilates, pilates beats and bodybarre. They are all great and every spin instructor is wonderful. You will never find a spin class that focuses more on your form which is the only way you'll see results. There are many choices out there, so if RPM is not for you, then don't come. Not only are the owners and instructors great, but I've met so many nice people there.

Pros: Owners, instructors, bootcamp, all classes

Cons: Bootcamp is expensive but worth it - also no classes in the middle of the day.

The mananagement at this place ruins it; some of the teachers are great (Derrick esp), but the owners inexplicably favor certain students and insult others that are way more fit and better at the class. I don't get it unless they are friends with those people. It creates an atmosphere of hostility and unfairness. It's bizarre.

I started spining at RPM September 2005 and lost 15-20lbs in all the stuborn areas. Prices are high but you pay for what you get and find that it was the going rate at other locations. Karen and Cythina are hard on us but all for the good! I learned they had my best interest weeks after spining there. RPM was where I would just let it all go. I released my stressed from work and home at RPM. Unfortunately because of the prices I stop going and joined a gym and gained all the weight back maybe more. This place worked for me and once my finances are better I will be going back.

Pros: Works you out!

Cons: Prices are high for a single mom

The best studio for spinning; I have being Spinning at RPM for many years;the instructors are very professional and most important they make sure you are spinning correctly. I have visited many studios and none have the knowledge and experience that Cinthia and Karen do(owners). Recently I injured my knee playing tennis and my recovery went fast due to the interest and suggestions from the owners. I LOVE THEM. This is a serious studio so it might not be for sensitive people.

Pros: Cinthia Karen

Cons: Pilates schedule

I love RPM. I understand where other people are coming from who didn't care for the studio and its owners though. This is a boutique gym, it isn't for everyone and isn't trying to be. The only time I am "picked on" as others put it (I wouldn't though) is when I am not putting in my all. Cynthia, Karyn (the owners) and all the other instructors make it clear that there are high expectations. Additionally, I've been to a lot of fitness studios where the instructors are harsh. I haven't been to very many that as soon as the class is over you chat with them for a while. Everyone is caring and helpful. I want to go work out everyday which never happened before. This is the first physical activity I have ever done that is not a competitive sport that I have kept up with. The results are almost immediate. Those gross fat blobs on my back that appeared whenever I put on a bra when away within two weeks. My muffin tops are now muffinette tops. If I listened to their nutritional advice I know I'd be even farther along now. I don't do bootcamp but I do go to spin classes at least four times a week. Tim and Steven are great in the morning. All of the instructors are great, actually! The other classes are good too. There is no more yoga which is a bummer, but Body Barre (think Cardio Barre) kicks my butt. I hear great things about Body Beats (upper body) and Pilates is great. Before you take your first spin class do a week or two of core. It can hard on the back otherwise. If you do take a class don't try to push yourself too hard the first time. Don't expect to get "out of the saddle" for very long the first day. Also, take one of Karyn or Cynthia's classes the first time to get the correct positions and then don't take their class again until you're really strong. It's fun if you give it your all. If you need teachers with kit gloves go somewhere else. If you want people who believe in you, you've found the place to go.

Pros: Great teachers, great people, great classes, great parking

Cons: A lot of dust and lint on the walls and air ducts, there are always a couple bikes out of commission

Let me start by saying that I have done almost every fitness activity there is, ballet for ten years, yoga on and off for 20, surfing, aerobics, spinning, pilates, fencing and on and on. I signed up for the boot camp at RPM and it was terrible. It was disorganized, expensive, boring and repetitive. The two ladies who run the Boot Camp have good intentions I am sure but they are very misguided. I thought it would be fun in an inspired army kind of way but it was not. The ladies were very disrespectful , abusive and negative. They would say things like "if you cant do this you will never accomplish anything in your life." We would listen to the same music during spinning every day, run on a not safe area on the road, the " nutrition counseling" consists of them telling you to "eat turkey and salad" . I could really go on and on. I wanted to quit after a week but stayed on just to be able to come home and tell my boyfriend everyday a new abusive thing that was said to someone in the class. I have never found a fitness class/studio as bad as this and trust me I have been to a ton of them.

Pros: None

Cons: Everything

I have been taking the spin classes at RPM for 6 months now and I haven't looked anywhere else since i found this wonderful place. From the moment you walk in the door the lovely girls help you with your shoes, getting you on your bike and making sure you are perfectly comfortable. The classes really get you moving and I feel I am getting a better workout than i've anywhere i've been before. I can't give enough praise to the girls there for helping me lose over 30lbs. Since then I have also been taking the yoga classes after the spin classes and they are the best thing ever. The small class sizes are fantastic as the intstructors really get hands on with you and I really feel the difference. I will never go back to the generic gym yoga classes I was taking before. THANK YOU RPM!!!

Pros: EVERYTHING, CAN'T FAULT THE PLACE!!

I was looking for a gym and came across the RPM website...looked fantastic! To make a long story short THIS GYM IS AWFUL..not the environment it is actually quite lovely, but the attitude of one of the owners is horribly RUDE. I wish I had come to this website before I joined the boot camp and read the prior negative comments. It appears that the RUDE, CONFRONTATIONAL manner is a problem for this place. I 100% whole heartedly would not recommend this gym to anyone other than maybe someone I do not like:)

Pros: Never having to walk in there and be treated with disrespect again!

Cons: CYNTHIA

I cannot say enough good things about RPM. I am a person who has never been an athlete, and always felt uncomfortable in traditional gyms. So that has kept me from being fit and enjoying the benefits of exercise. I went to RPM and was greeted warmly by the receptionist who explained the process to me and helped me get started with spinning shoes and a bottle of water. Several members of the spinning class and associate instructors were kind enough to teach me the proper way of getting on the spinning bicycle and the proper posture. The class itself was amazing, fun, difficult and all the while one of the owners, Karyn, was coming to check on me and keeping the class pumped up with amazing energy and instruction. After a few spinning classes I came back for Pilates with the other owner, Cynthia. This is truly one of the most difficult things I've done in my life but Cynthia focuses on each person individually and makes sure you are doing the moves correctly. So challenging and fun and rewarding, and everyone there really knows their stuff, and you get the feeling you are part of a family. The parking situation is awesome - they provide spinning shoes, towels and bottles of water for good prices - it always smells lovely in there with candles lit. It's also very clean and there are plenty of sanitary wipes to keep the mats and equipment that way. I would recommend RPM to anyone who asked me about it and I'm so glad I discovered this place.

Pros: instructors, schedule, value, cleanliness

i read the reviews on this website and thought RPM sounded great. So I signed up. It was a bit of a relief to read the prior post expressing almost everything I felt also. The owners are confrontational ready to argue with you about everything. The main woman I was working with was abrasive and when you were in the classes the instructors would make rude embarassement comments about your body in front of the other people in the "boot camp". It truly was a waste of my time and my money as well as a very negative experience overall! It was an environmentI felt to be very unpleasant and not conducive to a fitness studio claiming to want to help people get into shape.
