The food was excellent. The parking over there is not too good.Their style is mostly buffet. I love the collard greens and yams. I did not care too much for their peach cobbler. It was to soggy. The service was excellent.

This is where you want to go for authentic ,great tasting hearty portion soul food !!!!

And if you want to talk about it, the owner Adolf will sit right down with you! He is one of the nicest men you will ever meet. Portions are hearty, delicious , with a large menu to choose from and a great dessert menu to finish off with. Dine in or take out. Service is quick and friendly. They have managed to keep prices low, probably because they have remained small. Parking is minimal, but they need to open a few more, that would help. If you havent tried it, youre missing out. Treat yourself.

  • Pros: The Food, prices,service
  • Cons: parking

Best Soul Food In LA

by ntrigue at Citysearch

I haven't had the opportunity to try a great number of soul food restaurant in Los Angeles, but of those I have, SFK definitely has the best food. I love the baked chicken and mac & cheese. On Sundays they have a full dinner for about $15 that includes dessert and a drink, three sides, cornbread muffins, and an entree--it's a great deal. It's a pretty small joint, not the place you want to go if you're looking for ambiance, but the food is outstanding and the service is usually pretty good.

  • Pros: Great food, Quick Service
  • Cons: Parking, Small Building
