Apparently this place is under new ownership/management. We found a coupon in the "entertainment" book, so decided to give it a shot. On a Thursday night around 8, we were the only people in the restaurant.

There was a sign on the door stating our coupons were no longer accepted. We sat down anyway since we were there...an elderly lady brought us a small bowl of chips and 2 types of salsa, one of which was ketchup/tabasco and the other tasted like water, but had a strange color to it. i ordered something simple, expecting the worst...2 beef tacos. The beef was horribly overcooked, and was served up with white rice&peas. My girlfriend ordered a pork dish, which was so overcooked she stopped after one bite. Her meal was served with steamed veggies and a baked potato.....seriously, a baked potato at a mexican place? I finished my beer and my girlfriend her marg. and we asked for the bill. The elderly waitress comp'd the meals we didn't eat, and we paid for the drinks. Taco bell was on the home so we were able to get a proper fake mexican meal.

I hope the new management sees the light, becuase this place will not be around much longer if they don't..

Well, first there is no parking. So park on the street or in the neighboring hotel and hope they don't tow your car.

We arrived around 6 on a weekday and the party of 5 was seated immediately. Good.

But somehow, I was placed near the boom box or base speaker, it felt like I was sitting in my car next to "low rider" with the speakers blasting away, you know that sound that makes your ears hurt.

The young waitress was very nice, but she was the only one working the room.

She even made our drinks, which by the way were half price, it was still happy hour.

Now comes the food orders for 5 people. First we were told "sorry no beef" all out. How can you be out of food at 6:00 pm. ? Oh well, mov'in on. I ordered a large chopped salad with shrimp. When it came I started in, not noticing there was no dressing, when the dressing arrived, without thinking, I spread it all over my salad. I never thought to test taste first. Wow it was terrible, not what you would expect. So whatever you do, if you find yourself at this place, don't order the food and don't sit by the closet that houses the bass speakers.

  • Pros: Happy hour ! Good prices..Clean..
  • Cons: Loud bass speakers, poor salad dressing, no beef!

Upon ariving this suttle setting i was amazed by the warm welcome of outside trees a cute set up. We were promptly seated and asked for our order, of course we asked for the "Margarita" being that its name prides itself on maragritas. The traditional blended margarita was a big dissapointment, i questioned whethere or not there was even alcohol added. The food did make up for the drink downfall with its wonderful abondigas soup and tortas. I would go there again but not for drinks.

  • Pros: setting, food and service
  • Cons: bad drinks

We went here with some friends and had a wonderful time! At the recommendation of the owner, we all ordered the sangria, which was DELICIOUS! A "secret recipe", apparently. The service was extremely attentive and friendly. The food was great, although one friend wasn't too impressed with her bean and cheese burrito. An older group sitting at the table next to us said they've been coming ever Friday for happy hour for years. I can't say that I blame them.

In April, we had a wonderful private birthday party with live music and "the works". The food was amazing and the ENTIRE staff made sure all 40 people were well tended to. The price was very reasonable as well. Several of the attendees have since been back!

We go over there for breakfast too on weekends - WOW! All I can say, is if you're in Long Beach, go to the Margarita Grille. You'll be very happy. OhJackie

I've never enjoyed Mexican food as much as I have since I found Margarita Grille! This friendly restaurant has one of the greatest patios in the downtown area and the food is excellent! If you are able to go, be sure to try their "nuevo latino" entrees or the specials that change every week. The staff has a great "attitude" and welcomes everyone... The owner and general manager are always there and take time to visit with diners; it seems everyone who enters is some long lost friend... and, in the downtown area just 2 blocks from the convention center, it's a treat. When in Long Beach, try this reasonably priced restaurant. Don't worry, it's not too spicy, but it's always tasty! Prices range from $5.00 to $17.00 and you'll be taking lots of food home with you. Desserts homemade and always delicious. I give Margarita Grille a 10!

  • Pros: Reasonable prices, Great Foood, Great Margaritas
