best theater in LA

by kennylabbe

One of the better theaters in LA. The tickets can be a bit pricey, but compared to other theaters in Burbank/Downtown LA its not THAT bad.

The place is pretty upkept and clean.

Each theater is pretty big and has amazing seating no matter where it is you sit, not to mention the chairs themselves are rather comfortable. Especially if its not that packed you can lift the armrest up and kinda lay down.

Probably the best IMAX theater I've been to as well.

Love the Ambiance, Hate the Parking

by TomiBowling

We love the experience once we are there but the parking is often difficult. With that in mind we went today, early evening on a Monday, to avoid the madness. The experience was great until we got back to our car and someone smashed the back corner. Few grand is what that night will cost us. Burbank needs to work on the problems of parking and security. I am hoping they had cameras rolling so we can catch the culprit on video tape.

  • Pros: Really great theatres, food choices, entertaining
  • Cons: Someone Crashed our Car and Bailed

Multiplex and megaplex theater chain shows mainstream movies in a plush setting.

by Contributor

In Short
In 1920, Edward Durwood opened a single-screen picture house in Kansas City, Mo. Over the next 40 years, his company went on to pioneer the use of four- and six-screen theaters. In 1969, the company incorporated as American Multi-Cinema Inc. in honor of its signature multiplexes. Now, the company is known for theaters with 14 or more screens, as well as innovations such as armrests with built-in cup holders, stadium seating with LoveSeats, ATM-style ticketing and online ticket purchasing.

Good movie theater experience

by doll83

It was the first time I have ever been to the movies since I arrived in the US (I have never been to the US before)

and I really have enjoyed it! Generally I think that this is a pretty pricey kind of entertainment--also in Europe. Nevertheless the theater was provided with comfortable seats, the sound was not too loud and the theater hall was conveniently arranged. I liked the beverage container holder attached to every seat. It was nice to experience that people don't go to the late night show only.

  • Pros: Comfortable seats, sound not too loud
  • Cons: A sort of overpriced

in burbank ... the only game in town

by Tara deLis

i can actually remember when there weren't movie theaters in burbank, then there was the first amc in the late 80s, finally we didn't have to go to noho or glendale anymore for movies. now there are like 30 screens in 3 locations! crazy. these are pretty good theaters. i think movies are overpriced in general, but they've proven to the backbone of revitalizing this area. the film strip guy that comes on before each movie is cute.

  • Pros: comfortable seats,
  • Cons: prices, parking

Sparkling New Word-Class Megaplex

by threepio

Despite surrounding construction, AMC's flagship Burbank theatre is a beautiful, convenient, and comfortable experience. Multi-tiered mega-stadiums show the newest blockbusters. A reliable place for lively, multi-screen midnight openings. Great, diverse restaurants surround the giant theatre. A short walk to the 3-story Media Center mall. One of the best summer blockbuster theatres in the entire Metro L.A. area.

  • Pros: One of the Great AMC's
  • Cons: Like walking up to the US Capitol if the escalators are out

Best theater in Burbank

by dmenkes

This may actually be my favorite theater overall in the greater LA area. Now that I think of it, most other places I'm used to have terrible parking or little in the way of variety in nearby shops. Even on weekends, there's usually free parking in one of the many mall lots nearby, and a ton of restaurants. The theater itself is large, clean, and the screens are giant and the seats excellent. When I can't make it to the westside, I usually end up here.

in need of some tlc

by 310valleygirl

while the rest of burbank was being torn down, the amc threatre moved a few yards north and rose from the rubble. however, three years and millions of viewers later, the theatre is back to a state of needing a little more tlc.

  • Pros: movie selection
  • Cons: still not enough theatres of an opening night

Best Neighborhood Theater

by kiki1985

This theater has great sound, over-sized comfortable seats with liftable arm rests and is very well-maintained. They serve only Tostitos brand nachos which (I think) are excellent. I try to catch the first and second shows on the weekends to avoid the big crowds. The first show is around 10:30am and there are several self-serve ticket kiosks available. There's a big parking lot but if that's full, you can park at the mall and walk one block over. Speaking of which, the best shopping and junk food is right there and they don't harrass you for bringing food with you. Fuddrucker's, ColdStone Creamery, Starbucks, Urban Outfitters and Ross are browsing distance if you need something to do while waiting for a movie to start. If free movie screenings are your thing, there are always people offering flyers for the coming week. If you want to avoid crowds, don't go on a Friday or Saturday after 7pm.

  • Pros: Clean, Comfortable, Early/discount shows
  • Cons: Mainstream films only

Best for the Burbs

by csqamary

I don't consider this an "Event" theatre like Mann's Chinese, Fox or Bruin but, overall, this is one of the best theatres for comfort and visuals. I end up seeing most of my movies here because of its location. My only pet peeve is how busy it gets on the weekends but seeing a flick on the weekdays or early weekend afternoons tempers this. The theatres have stadium seating, the visuals always look good and the sound is great. You can also lift the arm rails if you prefer. Definitely one of my favorties for the suburbs of Los Angeles.

  • Pros: Stadium seating, Quality video & sound
  • Cons: Lots of people
