The flavors of the Baja have a home north of the border with this fast-food fish-taco restaurant.

In Short
After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.
Uh... ok the Street Tacos ROCK... but then again... the Lobster Tacos ROCK.... and the Lobster Burrito JAMS....

The fish tacos at this particular Rubio's location are really superb! At other locations the fish is too crispy. This location though the fish seems to fall to peices and has an excellent flavor. Only problem is the runny sauce inside (you'll need LOTS of napkins).
- Pros: FISH TACOS
- Cons: Runny sauce
