Full-service gym offers weights, cardio equipment, sauna, steam room, classes and personal training, open for most hours of the day.

by Saira Masood at Citysearch

In Short
With classes ranging from 24 Hour Tease, a sexy strip aerobic class, to the more subdued Vinyasa flow yoga and butt-kickin' boot camp, this active sports club is packed with health conscious (and some insomniac) gym goers. Stocked with the latest cardio and weight-training equipment, this gym cranks up the pumping music, flicks on the Plasma TV sets, and lets fitness fanatics work out according to their own schedule. With affordable rates and a friendly, knowledgeable staff, personal training is another tangible get-fit option. And while the moniker is somewhat misleading, on most days the door is open for at least nineteen hours--not too shabby.

dirty

by boylekristen at Citysearch

This place is disgusting. From the gum stuck to the machines, to the dust clumps on the locker room floor, this place is disgusting. I come home and I leave my sneakers at the door out of fear of what they may have picked up on the floors of this place. My water bottle that I place on the machines while I am working out---I scrub that bottle with Clorox wipes the second I get home.

I have already voiced my concerns to management to no avail. There are still just three cleanser bottles throughout an entire facility with constant, sweaty, human traffic.

I cannot wait until I am no longer a student and I can afford to go to a place that is clean and the staff and the clientele take pride in their facility together.

  • Pros: they have treadclimbers...of course noone cleans the machine after they are done using them
  • Cons: dirty

Not what I'd expect from a

by jj128 at Citysearch

Rude, unprofessional staff, un-racked weights everywhere, overcrowded due to aggressive overselling of memberships, no gym etiquette, filth, stench, water leaks, you name it. Since working out there I've gotten ringworm and twice a stye on my eye(staph infection). I've showed up for multiple fitness classes where the instructor didn't show and no one came to let the class know there would be no class that day. Posts and signs are not put up to inform members of construction and plumbing projects going on preventing them from working out. The list goes on. However, if you think you're the next big thing in Hollywood, and you walk around most of the day acting like a hard-ass, it may be worth sucking it up and joining anyway so you can be with the rest of your kind. Or maybe you could fit it in as a trainer and have people who have never worked out balance on a ball on one leg while juggling 3 medicine-balls and swallowing fire. That way they can build their "core stabilizing muscles" instead of wasting their time learning do any of the basic multi-joint lifts that REALLY activate the core, stimulate the nervous system and build the most strength and aesthetic results in the least amount of time. Good Luck!

  • Pros: hmm....close to home?
  • Cons: too many, read review

Worst club I have ever visited

by chefphilippe at Citysearch

This place literally stinks. Not body odor, but lack of cleanliness. Overhead pipes drip water on the floor everywhere. I took their "free 10 day trial and discount membership" but upon entering I was assigned a sales bulldog who told me if I did not sign up for a membership that day, I would be charged a $50 penalty if I joined later. So the 10 day trial was costing me $50. I was outraged. Club was 80-90% full on a Wednesday @ 11:00am, which told me they are overselling memberships. I have traveled the U.S. and have been in 30 to 40 clubs all over the country. This was one of the worst.

Great Gym during off peak hours, Peak hours, forget it

by dcracing at Citysearch

Love this gym when it's moderately full. Good balance of free weights, stretch room, and machine weights. However not enough room to have a basketball court. :(...

Avoid during peak hours, unless you want to mingle, rather than actually working out.

  • Pros: Equipment, Service and Staff and Scenery, Truly 24 hours/7days
  • Cons: Too packed during peak hours to get decent workout

Dont bother

by curiley at Citysearch

I have been a member of 24 Hour for 2 years, having been all over the area and visiting many a spa in my day, this particular one rings as the worst Ive been in.

I was horrified by the mens locker room, as the floors were soaked, smelled awful and many of the lockers were dirty. I spent a total of 6 minutes in there before I decided to take off.. only after watching a fellow lifter cough some mucus on the floor, right in front of a staff trainer, who did nothing.

I understand the amount of germs and such in places like these, but damn, who needs someone coughing all over the weights and blowing his nose on the towel he is using to line his bench??

Siiiick.

  • Pros: Next door to a nice spa
  • Cons: everything about the inside of this place is rank
