tasty food, and great music friday nights...
by flava68
rolled in friday to meet some friends, and was surprised by the groovy vibe and tasty food. Plus there's a guy who plays guitar and sings who is great (he even take requests). Pool table is a nice touch...and there and outside smoking patio. All in all, a cool spot.
Business-casual hotel eatery offers international fusion menu for locals and tourists.

The Scene
Part Hollywood lounge and part beach cottage, this Loews hotel restaurant provides an array of dining options. The gently-lit patio opens onto the pool area, while the cozy bar gives way to a long, banquette-lined room accented by dark, hardwood floors, plantation shutters, and an open kitchen. While the easy-going atmosphere facilitates comfort, it can be frustrating when it translates to occasionally slow service.
The Food
The menu includes an eclectic blend Asian, Italian and American cuisine. An excellent starter is the abundant Thai fried calamari, which is served on a bed of iceberg lettuce and spiced with sweet chili sauce, lime and peanuts. Main courses like braised short ribs with carrots and celery lack distinct flavors and presentation. Classic sides like macaroni and cheese and potato gratin are disappointing; the mac isn't cheesy enough, while the gratin lacks its trademark buttery quality. For dessert, the molten chocolate cake oozes a blissfully creamy interior.
