I like this store, but I can't go back.

by bellaballberg at Citysearch

I have been in this store twice. And spent a total of approx $450 at this store on three pieces of jewelry that I had made at the store. I did not assemble any of them myself.

I thought the prices were a bit high, but the designs that the staff helped me come up with were great.

Unfortunately, all of these pieces have broken.

One I never wore one piece because it was unable to be untangled when I got home. Many have tried to untangle it. It is a joke. The staff insisted that clasps were not necessary and that the chain was thick enough to prevent the tangling concerns I had at that time. $150 wasted. I called and they said I could pay to have it redone.

The other two lasted less than a month. They completely broke. One due to workmanship again and the other due to faulty "vintage" beads that fall apart.

I am so bummed that this place isn't what I hoped, as I love going in and creating jewelry. I really want to love this place, but buyer beware.

  • Pros: Great selection.
  • Cons: Poor quality and overpriced.

Beading goes L.A. luxe at this West Hollywood "It" boutique.

by Hannah Brand at Citysearch

In Short
The bead's the star in this beautiful gem of a shop on West Third Street. The custom walnut fixtures and precious merchandising make the lowliest seed bead feel like a valuable jewel. Beads are divided by color around the shop and displayed in a variety of vessels, from tiny vintage saucers to rustic wood bowls. The shop also carries its own line of custom (and, yes, trendy) necklaces, earrings and bracelets that also offer inspiration for personal creations. Take a seat on the cozy window seat and design your piece, or sit back and let the staff do it all for you (for a fee of course!). But be prepared to wait for help: The often-solo salesperson can have her hands full if the shop gets crowded.

Fun place - Superior service!!!

by madabbie at Citysearch

This is the coolest bead store i have ever been too! It's like being inside a giant jewelry box full of shiny beads and pearls.....My mom came to visit me from Texas and we took a fun class - to make our own necklaces. This place is for people who appreciate great service and suggestions. They also have cool silver and gold charms. Its a bit higher in price but the quality is so good i didn't mind....this place is very fun and is consistent.

  • Pros: Great Atmosphere, Friendly Service, Quality Goods!!!
  • Cons: Parking on 3rd

Overprice... only for people who has never been to anyother beadshops....

by lizleung at Citysearch

this is the most overprice beadshop i have been. the shop is nice looking and there are tons of staff, may be that's the reason why all the beads are so overprice. I can't believe that some of the tiny little beads are sold individually. the beads are not special either, most of them you can get it in king's road or the downtown mart.

  • Pros: nice decor, lots of staff
  • Cons: too expensive, not much variety

This bead store knows what's up

by mc900ftsugar at Citysearch

This is not your average bead store. It is edited down to only the most beautiful beads (mostly gemstones), findings and already made jewelry. I mean stuff that is really in fashion - that you see celebs wearing in magazines etc - not "crafty" stuff. I go there to be inspired and to find out what is hot. This is not the downtown jewelry mart, its a boutique, so don't expect wholesale prices. It's a great place to get started in beading or to make something that is truly trendy for a fraction of the price you would pay for it ready made in some shop on Robertson (celeby shopping area). While the staff may not ask you if you need help, they are super helpful & nice if you ask them for assistance in design or technique.

  • Pros: Beautiful, edited down selection

Wonderful experience - a guy's perspective.

by drowneded at Citysearch

I recently visited the Bead Boutique to do some last-minute holiday shopping for my girlfriend. I wanted to make something for her so my gift would be more personal, and the friendly staff at Bead Boutique were more than willing to assist me in making a beautiful (and moderately priced) necklace. The staff listened attentively to my requests, and offered several tips, both on stone selection and on how to make the necklace. Although the price of the stones added up quickly, I hadn't been able to find the variety offered here anywhere else. I had thought it would have been a more intimidating experience, but the smiling & courteous staff proved me wrong.

  • Pros: Selection, Helpful Staff
  • Cons: Price

Great selection/great atmosphere!!!

by coaxro at Citysearch

I don't usually write reviews but I felt compelled to do so after my visit to Bead Boutique! When my friend asked me to go with her to make a bracelet as a gift for our friend, I was very hesitant in going since most bead shop are...well,sort of dreary.

Upon walking into the brightly lit Bead Boutique I was immediately taken in by ambiance of this little bead shop. The beads were well organized and beautifully displayed, and I actually found the staff quite helpful! We were so impressed with the selection of beads and stones ,we ended up making a few more bracelets and some necklaces too! We were even told that our friend could come in and have her bracelet sized if it was too big! We had so much fun here we'd definetly go back.

Rudest Staff- I will never go back

by akk323 at Citysearch

I have never written a review in City Search but felt compelled after leaving the Bead Boutique. I was the only customer in the store and there were 2 employees in there. Neither acknowledged me until I walked up to the counter. I asked for advice and the woman flat out told me that the only advice she could offer me was to take a class or pay her to do the service. WHAT?!?? If you are looking for advice or a friendly staff, this is not the place. The beads are also way overpriced. I bought the beads that I plan on stringing for half the price in downtown in the jewelry mart area.
