My favorite sushi spot

by AShea at Citysearch

I am really picky when it comes to sushi, but I love this place. I'm pretty much only get the spicy scallop roll, but I've tried other stuff and it's just as good. Hidden gem for sure. Love it!

  • Pros: Spicy Scallop, prices
  • Cons: nada

Great fish...get there early to avoid the rush.

by abonavida at Citysearch

The all-u-can eat special at $33 is not cheap, but neither is the quality of the fish they serve. I got there before 11 am to avoid the lunch crunch. Joe is an excellent sushi chef and plied me excellent sushi and wonderful rolls. If you're hungry and can pack it in, go for the all-u-can eat and enjoy the tempura spicy tuna roll.

  • Pros: quality fish, nice chef, great rolls
  • Cons: fish is a little smal

too big for britches

by ddrao1 at Citysearch

I might've been the first person to ever eat at this little joint. They're friendly and serve pretty good sushi. At one time, they offered an all-you-can-eat offer for $24. It was a STEAL at that price. Now about a year and a half later, the same food comes at a $33 price point. Not quite as special as it once was. Three of us ate for $108 plus tip. At those prices, there are other sushi restaurants with better ambience that i'd pick first.

All-I-Can-Eat Sushi

by thetaylor310 at Citysearch

My crazy Russian friend (who gets more Asian as days go by) and I were starving for some good sushi and we were looking for the all-you-can-eat ones. Koreatown has none, so we drove west on Wilshire to try our luck. Almost by sheer luck, my friend saw Big Wasabi's sign as I drove past it. We pulled in and sat down. Right away, we got to get our grub on and it was delicious! I didn't bother with the Thai food; sushi is the best thing to eat and they do everything from sashimi to rolls. The owner Jay is funny and his staff is very attentive. Since he and his sushi chefs are Korean (to my advantage), they hook me up every time I go with their crazy new creations. Great place for good sushi and relax and hang out with friends... or even the sushi chefs!

  • Pros: Good Deal, Great Sushi, Fun Atmosphere
  • Cons: Parking, Limited Space

good stuff

by dorko at Citysearch

one of the best when it comes to all you can eat sushi/rolls... the quality of sushi isn't the best, but among all you can eat places, it's the best sushi... they put in quite a bit of effort in their presentation so it looks good too... the price is worth every dollar. at first I was skeptical because from outside, it looked so small and in the middle of nowhere, but once inside, i was sold... would definitely go again...

Assorted Grease Flavors

by vmarg at Citysearch

This place claims to have innovative dishes. But their simplest dish which is supposed to be an authentic orange chicken with rice is full of a greasy oily taste that will stay with you for two days after eating it. Their fried rice is nothing but oil, so much so that it clumps together. After tasting just one dish, I will never go back there. If they can't get fried rice right, how can anyone trust their sushi or their supposedly more innovative dishes? Absolutely horrible.

  • Pros: fast service
  • Cons: horrible food, greasy food, oily aftertaste

OH MY GOODNESS...

by alfadesiac at Citysearch

this is a hidden gem! sushi lovers will be pleased! jay (the sushi chef) is so generous with his rolls and the rolls are quite tasteful! they have great deals on sushi and their innovative rolls will keep you coming back for more. their thai food is also very good. i had the spicy seafood salad and i highly recommend it. the owners are soooooo nice. jay is a hella funny! catch him in his "whiteboy" skater shirt! and julie (i believe that is her name) is always there with a smile! they get more business during the day due to the lunch crowd so visit them at night!

  • Pros: great food, great service, not busy at night
