Was there Friday night with a party of 6, music was loud but okay once we arrived. As the night went on however the music gradually got worse, the staff were unhelpful when asked to help clean up one of the boths. and once we sat down they took have our seats out from under us, leaving the bulk of the group standing and the rest arriving in the way of everyone going to the bathroom. The place was so packed with drunk people who should have obviously not been served that one of them (whilst getting served another round of tequila) promptly threw up on half of the girls bags and was not kicked out. It took 3 separate complaints to get the messed cleaned up and finally we left. We will NOT be returning.
- Pros: Cheap drinks
- Cons: Rude staff, over capacity venue, no dancing allowed

Dragon is the newest restaurant on Pier Plaza

Just for the record... The Dragon is a restaurant who has been acting as a bar. As a result, they've just had their hours pulled back to 12 midnight, they are not allowed to have dancing, and they have to serve equal food and alcohol.
Because of the violation of their Conditional Use Permit and ABC License, they are very aware they could lose their license completely if they continue to violate the above conditions. Just an fyi to those who are thinking of going there and expecting the same vibe and experience as they've had in the past.
Just thought those thinking of driving down from Hollywood might like to know...
- Pros: Attractive crowd
- Cons: No dancing, closes at midnight, now must act like a bonafide restaurant and not a bar
UFC 83 Night

Headed to Hermosa Beach to see UFC 83 when I realized Patrick Malloys had a cover at 7pm and Dragon didnt. Dragon was already crowded with a good vibe. Plenty of tv screens for everyone to see the action. Crowd mostly into the fights although not the same atmosphere as a sports bar. Drinks at a descent price with quick service. Dragon is just too small though, which kills the bar. They no longer have a dance floor which is the reason I left. Parking only guarantees that I wont be back, at times its impossible to find it. Overall, descent for those who live in the area but for the rest of us not worth the travel.
- Pros: TV Screens, Ambience,
- Cons: Small, Parking, No Dance Floor
The worst enviroment i've ever seen.

I first heard of this place back in 2006 when a co-worker stated it was a great place to hear house music. So last night 2 of my buddies and I ended up at Dragons at about 8:45p. The door men were hella cool and told me at 10p I had to have some form of a sleeve due to the fact I had a sleeveless tee. The crowd was ok since they were watching the laker game but I must say I loved the decor and the drinks. So 10p came around and the staff was cool not to tell me anything about my tee and the staff was hella nice and I must say the music was hella good! I recommend this place to eveyone!!
- Pros: Good drinks, music rocked, clean restrooms
- Cons: No caps

this is one of the newest trendy clubs on the HB pier. They are trying to bring LA to the beach, and it's just wrong. The drinks are like $15. Outrageous. I suspect it is a gay club incognito.
Chicken Wings... Beer and Music YES!!!

I have always had a great time at dragon. Ever since I tried it out for the first time I found the music WAY better then anywhere else at the beach wehter hip hop or house, the food (especially BBQ Chicken wings) great, the staff was not only really good looking but always courteous and ready to help. I think some of the other reviewers want to hear Margaritaville for the thousandth time and are complaining because the bar gets packed. Hello!!! A packed bar means people enjoy the place. Go camp outside Sharky's and light a candle if you miss cheap beer and chubby shirtless guys. I'll be at Dragon. Oh yeah...Dragon has dollar Beers every Sunday so you should just bring the Ipod with Margeritaville on it and you should be OK.
- Pros: Hot clientele and bartenders, Great Music, Good food
- Cons: It does get hot and busy on the weekends and Sun
Best Party spot on the Beach!

Dragon Bar down in Hermosa Beach is a great time any day of the week! It is the only spot in the beach area to feature world class DJs and top notch soundsystem! Sundays feature $1 beers all day long and the place is always packed with a good mix of great looking people. The food is also great...check out the 1/2 price Coronas and $1.50 Tacos on "Taco Tuesday". sooooo goood!
If you want to party or even just catch a ball game steps away from the beach..Dragon is the spot!
