Renee and his team have always been fair, honest and reliable in the 4 years we have used them to fix our BMW. I referred a friend of mine there as well and she has been incredibly happy with the service and cost. Just the other day, as I was carpooling in my friend's BMW, my cup of juice fell out of the drink holder and short circuited the automatic window buttons. We freaked -- drove straight to Renee (this was on our way to work) and in less than 10 minutes he replaced the whole auto button system and charged so little, I was jumping for joy (as I thought this was about to be the most expensive car pool ride of my life!). Renee and his team are lifesavers!

I work for a celebrity and have been taking his family's Mercedes cars to German Independent for over two years. Rene and his team consistently offer us the best service, the fastest turnaround, and, most importantly, the MOST reasonable prices in town. Where a Mercedes dealership will quote over a thousand dollars and three working days for a repair, German Independent will get the job done for $300 and be finished in two hours. It's easy to feel taken advantage of when you're working under a famous name. Rene treats us like family, is discreet, and never squeezes us for extra dough. I myself have brought my Volkswagen to him on occasion and feel safe with their caliber of work and the prices they're quoting me. If they treat us this well, there's no way they won't treat everyone the same. I highly recommend German Independent for all they stand for- honesty, quality and speed. I would give them ten stars if I could.
Pros: Price, consistency, speed of repairs, honest feedback, clear communication.
Cons: none.

My friend and I bought the same BMW within weeks of each other. When the warranty was up we both shuttered to think about the cost of keeping our cars repaired. Over the last two years we have had almost identical work done with one exception. Her car is worked on by an independent mechanic in Pasadena and I go to German Independent. Her repairs, with rare exception, are double my cost and she always has to leave her car up to three days. Mine is always repaired within a day. I know nothing about car mechanics so I am at the mercy of the repair shop. When I bring in my car they take the time to explain what needs to be done, go over the cost and time it will take to complete the job. There is only one thing that would improve the service. To move the shop to Hollywood where I live. Thanks GI.

The speed and the cost are un beatable. what was going to take other places three days was in and out in the same afternoon with German Independent. they even replaced my light bulbs for free and were absolutly a pleasure to deal with. I highly recommend taken your new or used car to be serviced by german independent.

This is by far the best place to take your car. PERIOD! I have shopped around and been to many other German auto repair places but my search is definitely over.. This will be my car shop for life. The owner, Rene, is extremely knowledgable, professional, honest, friendly and just a great person. From the minute you walk in you know your car is in good hands. I have never tusted an auto shop as much as I trust these guys. My first experience with them was just an oil change but Rene took his time and discussed some concerns I was having about my car. It was very clear that he knew his stuff! When I came back they had also replaced my rear tail light.. complementary. I then took car back to having the timing belt and engine mounts worked on. They did a great job, had it done on time and it came in UNDER what they quoted me... I am extremely picky about my car (some might say paranoid) but Rene has never been too busy to look at even the small stuff. There is absolutely nothing bad to say about this place... I would give them 20 stars if I could. The shop is always tidy and clean and most importantly THEY REALLY TAKE CARE OF YOU. I simply cant recommend them enough.. TRUST ME... This place is the absolute best!!!
Pros: Professional, Knowledgable, Honest, Friendly - they really and truly TAKE CARE OF YOU
Cons: NONE

Wonderful place to take your car to! They are professional, nice, upfront guys that are there to help you. I usually hate having to take my car in for any reason but they made it extremely easy and made sure that the job done was the best possible job. Amazing customer service and great people! It you are looking for a great mechanic or need body work I strongly recommend German Independent. It is a place you can trust.

I'm very careful about who works on my BMW 525, and I'm glad I've found someone finally that I can trust: German Independent. The owner is very professional, prompt and courteous. He is knowledgeable about BMWs and knows the dealers' repair policies very well. After all, he is German. Who would know BMWs better than him. And he doesn't nickel and dime me to death. For example, I visited recently because my Inspection light came on. He could have told me I need a bunch of new parts; instead, he quickly checked everything, determined that no parts were necessary, and even turned off the sensor -- all at no charge. I will definitely continue to visit him for additional work; and I will recommend friends.
Pros: German owner; knowledgeable about dealers' repair policies; prompt
Cons: None

Some cars are just mistakes. I take my favorite German mistakes to Rene’s shop again and again because they consistently perform far above and beyond the call of duty. Because I have a penchant for older cars, I see them more often than a reasonable person should, and it is a pleasure to do business with them. They perform quality work, they are generous with their time and expertise, they make sure you understand what you are getting into, and above all, they are enthusiastic as well as optimistic. Even bad news sounds fine when spoken by Rene. The entire team – West, Frank, Joey, Alex, Rene, and Amber want nothing more than for you to know that you are doing business in the right place. There will come a time soon when I will re-orient my focus toward driving brand new, in-warranty cars, and I will miss them greatly, but until such time, this is my go-to team. Mr. Sale.
Pros: Stellar Service
Cons: Credit card machine rates no good, not their fault

Rene and his team are truly first rate technicians. They recently brought my BMW 850 v12 to top form, it purrs like a v12 should and drives like a rocket. He's worked on my car on several occasions, the communication is clear and open, and the car is always done on time and spotless. If you are fanatical about your car- and I am, these guys are german car perfectionists.
Pros: Knowledge, craftsmanship, care, attention to detail
Cons: none
