This studio is comfortable and intimate, while providing top-notch customer service. The trainers are flexible and friendly and work with all levels of experience (I had never tried gyrotonics before I went here!), and I always feel taller, longer, leaner and breathe better after a session here. Best studio in LA - I recommend it to everyone I know!
Pros: great instructors!
Cons: none at all!

I started pilates with a private instructor in February 2007. I am currently taking mat classes on Thursday evening. As a result, I have no more back pain, I stand straighter and feel stronger and I am 55! Everybody is very professional and friendly. Metro is a beautiful yet unpretentious neighborhood studio. Difficult to understand how the last reviewer could write such comments! I am taking Abbe's ( "good students!) classes and she in far from being arrogant.
Pros: friendly and professional

I took all my recent classes here and some private instruction. I had a good experience with my instructor and now friend, Claire. I also used Pitsimay and Heather and had positive results and felt it was worth the private fee each time. I would choose and I do choose this studio again over and over. Go there if you want a great workout / challenge.
Pros: Full of Professional people who care about me
Cons: They are not open on Sundays

i've been to pilates studios all over LA and i have to say that when i walked into this studio for the first time i was so impressed by the scerene and comfortable space. kudos to the decorator! along with the atmosphere, everyone from the front desk to the instructors are always so nice and professional -- it really makes the workout go by quickly. i've been going to this studio for three years now and i cant imagine going anywhere else. the way my body has responded has been beyond my expectations -- both in appearance and function! besides going down a size in jeans (!!!), i used to have a reacurring problem with my lower back and that's pretty much all but vanished. thumbs up all around!
Pros: best studio in la
Cons: none

I've been going to Pilates Metro for two years now ( twice a week, religiously) and I couldn't have made a better choice. I have a very physically demanding job, and I used to have a lot of back problems from heavy lifting. Since I started sessions here, my back problems have disappeared! The attention to detail of the instructors is impressive - they guide you through every exercise with specific training on body position and muscle groups. I can't imagine trying to get the benefits from such a meticulous workout without signing up for private sessions - it makes all the difference! Working with Allison, I've noticed a big change in my strength and flexibility, and she even tailors my workouts not only to improve my core strength, but also to help my balance for hiking and improve my upper body strength for work. The studio is stylish with a warm and welcoming atmosphere - I'd highly recommend Pilates Metro to anyone!
Pros: detailed pilates instruction, personal attention, welcoming atmosphere
Cons: not one

This place does not teach real pilates. It is all about the impression of being "mind-body" exercise, or even exercise at all. No substance to the teaching I received in a mat class. absolutely no flow to the class, teacher could not perform the exercises herself and could not cue in a clear way. Got the impression she was very arrogant. Kept speaking to students like 3-year olds "good students!" (said almost sarcastically). Do NOT take classes here! find a more reputable studio! no substance. place shallow. not pilates
