I have just returned from my first visit to The Cut salon and have never been more delighted with my results. After careful consultation with various colour charts, Jean, hailing from Dublin Ireland went to work. I have a tendency to put my complete faith and trust in stylists' judgment- isnt that what we pay them for? Today, for once, I was moe than glad I did. Jean will give you the God's honest truth- noting that my previous highlighting treatment had left my dark brown hair, in a word...'orange.' She was able to tell, right off the bat that my highlights had never been 'toned' after the initial colouring/bleaching and was sure to rectify that error this time round. As someone with extremely curly hair, one of my pet peeves is stylists' underestimating the shrinkage factor that comes into play once my hair dries- often leaving my hair an inch or two too short. Jean made sure to diffuse-dry my hair BEFORE cutting it- arguably more challenging with curly hair but it meant I walked out with a style, color and lenght that I was delighted with. A chilled out, casual vibe envelopes this salon and the friendly staff make it a pleasure to while away an hour (or three) when those dead-ends call for it. If you can, ask for Jean- a very talented stylist who will give you the honest opinions and advice you need when it's time to make a change. And she's great craic to boot!!

Pros: Comfortable and casual, away from the hustle and bustle of Main Street or The Promenade

I am afraid of getting my hair cut and they were so great! They listened to what I wanted without a fuss. It was not that cheap, but it was worth it. And they did not push some overpriced product on me to buy. A definite be-back!

Over a year ago, I went to the Cut Salon, because I was new to the area, saw the reviews on Citysearch, and needed a reasonably priced haircut. Needless to say, I went with little expectation. Much to my delight, I met a very talented stylist--Jean (aka "the Irish one)-- whom I have since become a loyal fan and client. She has given me great cuts and highlights in the year plus that I have been going to her (and I am often asked where I get my haircut). When I want any type of change, I ask Jean's advice, and she has given me her professional opinion about what looks good and what doesn't. I have complete faith in her talent, and think she is hilarious as well--something a Chicagoean can appreciate. As for the salon, it is less pretentious than the other salons of Santa Monica. I have spent a lot more at other places and have been a lot less satisfied. From my perspective, excellent value and talent.

My first visit here was better than average. Jean was my stylist and she was very friendly and skilled. She listened to what I wanted and gave me what I asked for. Highly recommended. Only critique I have of the salon was that the receptionist didn't offer or give me the discount they advertise for first time customers.

I can’t say enough positive things about the Cut Salon. I get my hair cut about once every six weeks. I have been happy with the results each visit and and the atmosphere and the culture inviting and friendly. There is easy parking in the back and I have never had a problem getting an appointment that fits into my schedule. The girls that work there are friendly, outgoing and interesting. I take my children often just to say hi because of the relationship they have developed with everyone there. I would highly recommend it(and I have) to my friends and co-workers.

I don't usually write reviews but felt that The Cut Salon deserved it! Alyssa cut my hair and did an absolutely fabulous job. We sat and spoke about what I was looking for and how she would do it and all the pieces just fell together. She did exactly what she said and luckily I went on a week day during the day because I was in and out of there in 40 minutes with an amazing hair cut and she straightened my hair faster than anyone around!

My fiance's hair is curly, blond and hard to cut! At the Cut Salon they did a wonderful job and we were so impressed that he has been back twice since then. They also have affodable prices for that area of town.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the cut salon for the first time and will have to say the over all experience was quite nice. Ashley, receptionist/shampoo girl was friendly, charming and gives a great head massage. My stylist, Alyssa and I consulted for quite a long time and together we came up with a color and style that would be right for me. I am happy to report, this is the best my hair has looked in years and the price was not bad either. Thanks ladies, you will see me again.

I absolutely love my haircut and my color and I would definitely go back again...My stylist was honest in my consultation and we discussed each step before taking it....I was so relieved to find a salon in LA that is affordable and has great results! I have gotten compliments on my hair and I have referred my friends to check out The Cut as well...give this place a try!!!!
