Great waiter, awesome selections, goat cheese yumm!!
by bellamusa
I just went today for lunch and I want to write a review while it's still fresh on my mind. We had the bumble bread as an appetizer and the flavors intermingling together were awesome. The cherry tomatoes were fresh and juicy and yumm garlic! lol Then I had the pesto chicken and goat cheese ciabatta.. Wow is all I have to say. The meal was deliscious, the cucumber water refreshing and the decoration is in correlation with the name but not over the top. We had great food, wonderful conversation and I would definitely go back! Thank you!! OHHH and they validate parking! Yuppeee!!
- Pros: Free parking with validation, food is awesome and different!!! Great service
- Cons: None that I experienced except that I ate alot!!! : )
different vibe in downtown
by designpair
good, fresh food, prepared with a gourmet flair in a cafe that's designed fun with princess colors in downtown? such a great change of scenery from all the corporate americana/bar food in town. cool sodas and food combinations - it makes me want to visit again and try more. beautiful gourmet market - would love it if there was more variety. i felt like a kid in a candy store that had only a few pieces of candy to choose from. i'd visit again and again. the downfall is that the waitstaff is all show and little service, much like fred eric's Fred62 in Los Feliz - service suffers here as well.
downtown treasure

For over two years, I walked by this restaurant waiting for it to finally open... totally worth the wait! There is a colorful and delicious deli selection where you can make a new gourmet salad every day with fresh and exotic ingredients from Ahi tuna, coucous and summer squash. The deli/cafe has easy takeout and assorted snacks. The main dining room is very lovely, sunny and colorful... I can rave forever about the salads, wraps, champagne selection and fresh teas and fruit drinks... my favorite downtown lunch spot.
Haute cuisine meets haute couture at Fred Eric's downtown fantasy cafe and specialty market.
by Martha Burr
In Short
In the heart of L.A.'s fashion district Eric (Fred 62) has set up an organic cafe and high-end specialty market serving both fashion business lunchers and the burgeoning loft crowd. The whimsically decorated, spacious room sparkles in candy-jewel colors, awash with sunset apricots and golds, huge pink columns, sapphire blue booths, a stunning green and amethyst glass-tile floor. World beat music echoes the seasonal, locally sourced menu; dishes include chicken and artichoke heart salad, fava bean hummus, curried shrimp and quinoa, and proscuitto and burrata baguette.
Fred Eric Rocks Again

I have followed Fred Eric for years...Fred 62, Vida (yes, Airstream). His new restaurant is going to be super hot. Right in the fashion district the menu is Vogue. Healthy....gorgeous food for gorgeous people.
Love it
- Pros: yum, downtown treat, hidden gem
