The worse place in the valley
by careyxs423 at Citysearch
I have been there 3 times and i can not believe it has been that many. They have a cover charge, they have the worse customer service, they bar tender threaten to kick me out because i tipped only two dollors for a beer( which i usually only tip one). they are horrible, no ones attractive, service is terrible, in fact it shows how dumb some people are , because i can not believe that place is still in buisness. its laughable how awful that pathetic excuse for a "high end" club is
- Pros: free parking
- Cons: everything eles
PERFECT and lots of fun - if the cholos don't show up ...
by Leslie63 at Citysearch
Taboo is the coolest lil hip hop lounge in the valley ... if the goofy, fightin' azzed lil cholo punks don't show up.
Great hip-hop music, GREAT bartender (Chirs!), nice waitresses, nice owner/manager. Perfect atmosphere, sit or dance, outside area for the smokers. Usually a very nice mixed crowd.
I think if management would enforce a dress code (no t-shirts, caps,) maybe some of the loosers that want to fight instead of dance would stay away.
- Pros: Great atmosphere, great drinks, GREAT hip hop/rap music.
- Cons: The hispanic gXXg banger guys that have been showing up and wanting to fight lately.
This place is a joke

I didn't like the crowd when I went and the drinks were overpriced. You can't charge those prices when you are in the Valley.
The crowd is trashy, bouncers are kinda prick-y
Didn't like this place at all, sorry!
- Cons: over priced drinks
GO TO THE TABOO LOUNGE!
by mmcginnis00 at Citysearch
I was in town a few weekends ago for a funeral. After the funeral, I had to get out. I happened accross the Lounge and was there a little early for a Saturday Night. So I decided to kick back and have a few drinks, I was told this was the place to dance later in the evening. Well I met Christina, one of the women that worked there, and we just talked for a while. Thanks for listening, and thanks for the dance. The bartenders were great, as well as the server's. Gina, I don't think I needed that shot of Jack..and thanks for sharing a drink with me. Given the way I felt the next morning...I don't think it was that one shot that got me..LOL. It was definitely what I needed and I just wanted to say thank you to the staff and the owner, who I met but the name escapes me, and if I didn't tip you more than 20%...my apologies, you did deserve it. Next time I'm in town I'll come by again.
The night life there was great as the evening went on and it was a packed house. I met a few people and bought a few drinks, as well as danced with some very attractive women. If you're looking for a late night place to hang, dance and have fun...GO TO THE TABOO LOUNGE!
- Cons: small tequila selection
Thursday Nights Are The Best!
by afadedmemory at Citysearch
Taboo lounge is a great place in the neighborhood if you just want to chill out and have a few drinks. The food also is pretty good- of course its not like a restaurant but it is still tasty. Thursday nights are the best- they have started to have theme's such as "black and white" and other such themes. Good prices for drinks and just a chill mellow atmosphere with music that I wish more people were dancing to. It tends to be more of a younger crowd on Thursdays but I definitely reccommend it!
Lookout Hollywood

What a time I had. Just a couple of nights ago, some friends and I visited here and I was pleasantly surprised. Although the location was a somewhat hard to find, the music and the drinks and prices surely made up for it. After my first drink, which was very strong and not watered down, the bartender introduced herself to me and took very good care of me for the remainder of the night. The drink prices were very cheap and the amounts were large. I come from L.A. where you get small glasses, watered down drinks and high prices. Now, the music was like 99.9% ALL HIP HOP. Just what I like. The dancing area can get crowded if more than 25 people decide to hit the dance floor all at the same time. Overall, this is a dressy place minus the Hollywood pretentious attitudes. Watch out Hollywood!
- Pros: Great Drinks, Low Cover, Ample Parking
- Cons: Small Dance Area, Small Bar Area, Too Many Cops around
Great vibe!

My first time at Taboo was a few months ago with a group of friends. We met the owner, who was very cool and bought us all drinks. The staff was very friendly, unlike most clubs. The next time I was there the bartender remembered me and was also very nice. The best thing was the great music and the people. It really is a very down-to-earth place with a Hollywood vibe.
- Pros: Parking, Service, People
- Cons: Crowded
Run away from this place like you are on fire!

This is by far the worst place in all the Valley. The service is horrible! The bartenders demand 20% gratuity and if you are even a buck short, they will through your tip back in your face (which is kind of dumb since they end up with nothing). I find it very funny that the people who work for Taboo have such Hollywood attitudes, and yet, my dentist office is right next door to this place and one of the bouncers I remember from middle school. Get off your high horses Taboo! The food is gross, the drinks are weak and expensive, there are no good looking people EVER hanging out here. The cover charge is hilarious; they should pay YOU for even walking by this place. It is worth the extra gas, time, and stress to drive to Sunset. "Taboo" is the night name alright. Bad bad bad.
- Pros: location, parking
- Cons: service, expensive, boring
What a Blast!

My buddies and I decided to check this place out rather than go all the way to Hollywierd. It turns out that Taboo has everything that Hollyweird has without the attitude and ridiculous prices. The prices were a bit high for the Valley, but worth the cost and the girls who work there are HOT! The music was great and the place was packed! I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes to party with fun, hip, cool people!
- Pros: Free Parking, Hot Chicks, No Attitude
Great concept

This spot has it all. It's tucked away in an atrium-like business complex and easy to miss. Despite its small venue, there are two rooms and the schedule has a great eclectic mix that makes it a perfect place to drop by and be surprised: neighborhood bar, live standup acts/poetry readings (ala Mos Def), trendy single crowd, friends night out, romantic setting, etc.
The staff is very accomodating and friendly and this attitude rubs off on the customers. The drinks and food are good and not overpriced. Service is top notch. I've been to similar spots in NYC, Chicago, Atlanta, and even Europe. I hardly would have expected to see one open in LA, much less the valley.
- Pros: friendly staff, great crowd, good value
- Cons: small location
