This is dive bar to a tee. Grungy, unpretentious, raw and that's how I like it. The drinks are cheap the crowd is fun and attractive. What more could you want? They also have a great selection of greasy bar food to enjoy with your mini keg. There are also pool and arcade games, always fun.

Pros: Cheap Beer, Fun Atmosphere

Love, love, love this place. I don't think it tries to be anything it's not. Every friend I take here says it reminds them of a bar from back home, wherever that may be. They have the best priced beer and well drinks of any bar I've been to in Hollywood, especially given their location on the otherwise trendy Cahuenga corridor. The music is usually pretty decent, and there's a smoking patio out back. The bar itself is spacious, but it does get crowded, especially on karaoke night and during sporting events. Unfortunately, they got rid of one of their two pools tables in order to fit in more seating. (And in fact, they cover up the other pool table during football because it gets so crowded!) The food is really good "drunk food" - meaning it's greasy, cheesy, salty, etc. My favorite is their Monday night pizza and small pitcher special for $11! Yeah, the service is not great (and if you're not sitting at a table, like at the bar or window, you'll have to flag down a server), but it's Hollywood, and servers aren't hired for their customer service. Also, aside from some frat-types, there's no pretension at this bar, unlike the trendy places in Silverlake or WeHo. Oh, and I'm from Buffalo, and the wings are actually not terrible, and probably some of the best in LA - and they serve them with blue cheese, i.e. the way REAL wings are served! None of this ranch stuff!

Pros: food, price, beer selection

Cons: service, bathrooms

I want to start off by saying I have gone to Big Wangs 3 or 4 times and every time I have had a bad experiance. I Hoped it would get better, it NEVER did, really, it got worse. The LAST time my boyfriend and I were there we sat at the bar, he ordered 12 wings, they came out dry, overcooked and cold, he tried to order a beer but they were out of the first 3 he wanted so he gave up and got a coke WHICH HAD BLACK THINGS FLOATING IN IT!!! I got the nachos with chicken, they looked like they were cooked an hour before they came to me and had NO chicken. I ordered a rum and coke to drink, but they bar tender, a girl with short mousy brown hair and a snotty attitude gave me a whisky and coke instead and when I asked her to fix it she rolled her eyes and it took her at leat 10 min to get me another drink..the food came out before I got it..We ended up trying to eat what we could and leaving....but not before it took the RUDE bartender FORVER to print out the check..I guess she was too busy throwing herself at and being gropped by what I assume to be a manager, since he came behind the bar. He had short dark hair as well and a GUT. Over all this place sucked and I will never be back. the food was always bad, the bartenders are snots and the times we did sit at a table, I would have dont a better job serving myself on the sticky tables.

Pros: everything is pretty cheap

Cons: food, service, the snotty girl bartender

OK … so I only wanted to come here because it’s called “Big Wangs” and the name made me laugh. (my last name is Wang.) After some cajoling I convinced a friend to join me to watch a UCLA game there. The inside looks like a typical sports bar – lots of TV’s all over the place, lots of seating (booths, stools, tables galore) and random sports and Big Wang memorabilia everywhere. The seating was nicely spaced out so you didn’t feel cramped, but I suppose if it were a big game night, the place could still be packed. The specialty here are the chicken wings. We tried some in the Big Wang sampler – which included wings, ribs, cheesy bread and buffalo chicken tenders. We also had nachos (this I didn’t like so much – the cheese congealed so quickly, but I suppose that is a risk with all nachos…) Pretty typical bar fare – ok, not great. They do have an immense menu with everything ranging from wings to pastas to pizzas to sandwiches, etc. – so there’s probably something for everything (assuming you aren’t on a diet!). It also has a full bar with lots of specialty drinks and a large variety of beers. I had a ruby boobie (grapefruit vodka and grapefruit juice). The crowd was an eclectic mix of old and young. My friend described some of them as older, but not yuppies – rather Gen-Xers who are still stuck in their adolescence. Not sure if I agree. I just thought it was a random mix of people. Service was ok, but a little slow. However, the food came out super quick. Odd combo. It is a nice place to watch sports due to the variety of tv’s – PRO: you can ask the servers to change the stations for you / CON: they don’t turn the volume up so you can’t hear the game. UCLA did win – so yeah!!! My friend and I had fun – ate way too much junk food. I will probably give this another try – they have special events on different nights – e.g., bloody mary nights, pizza and pitcher nights, etc. I can’t say I loved it, but it has potential.

Pros: Lots of room and tv's

Cons: Can't hear the games; food is mediocre

I can't believe this place, the only bar around with specials every night of the week,$2.50 for a pint. Great for sports, TV's everywhere, and the RIBS rock!!!! If you are looking for a place to meet for cheap drinks and food before you go out, there is no better place. OTHER THINGS $5 buck chilled yager shots and my Ketal and soda was in a pint glass. 2 thumbs up . Great value.

so the couple of times i have been to big wangs, I cant say I have truly enjoyed the entire experience. Starting with the bouncer- he was not the nicest, granted I know he is "doing his job" but jeez, I know nicer parking reinforcement workers. The place was so busy it wasnt comfortable, it was dirty looking. Nevermind if you want to play pool, there are so many people standing around they dont get out of your way. The food wasnt anything great, your typical bar food, yet mine was a little overcooked, nor anything to brag about. The beer, well you cant really screw that up, unless your out of, WHICH HAPPENED... I would go back.. with a group of friends, but get there early or you arent getting a seat anywere

My friends and I came here after we saw some local bands at the Knitting Factory on a Sunday night. Two of the girls in our party carpooled and they told use they could go in by themselves but if we all wanted to enter they would have to wait. There were about 6-8 guys already waiting in line and they let our ladiy friends in first. We went up the street to grab a bite to eat. I came back with a glass of ice water and the bouncer told me I was already loaded and he couldn't let me in. Strange that he couldn't let me in to sober up, but he could let me get in my car that I valet in their lot and drive home. Screw this place!

Pros: pool tables, pizza,$5 valet

Cons: if you are a guy you might not make it inside

Pros: Great servers. Great prices.

Cons: Havent found any.

Big Wangs serves delicious food. It is simple, down-to-earth and unpretentious. While they are well known for their chicken wings, the rest of their menu should not be overlooked because it is just as good. They also have a good beer selection. The atmosphere is fun and casual. Everyone seems to know each other. It is a good spot to hang out with friends over a couple of beers.

Pros: Great food, cool atmosphere

Cons: Street parking is limited, the only other parking is valet
