I took Poetri's workshop two years in a row. It's worth it. I went from uncertain to certain that I want to make a career through poetry. I gained the knowledge and confidence needed to become a performing poet. The main thing I learned is that you must always be prepared because you never know when someone may ask you to recite a poem. I recommed it to anyone afraid to speak in public...after the workshop, you'll fear no mic!

If you are wondering if you should take this workshop...Ask yourself a simple question..."Am I worth investing in my dreams, passions, and taking my creative force to an entirely different level?" If the answer is yes, then sign up now! Opportunity is not lost, it just goes to the next person bold enough to seize it! Shannyn "Reign" Tanner from the Breakout Poets group/Poetri Workshop 2005
Pros: Fantastic, Remarkable, Fun

This class has not only helped me be more confident in my writing but also more confident in my personal life. It has helped me discover my gift and talent for writing and acting. A talent I never new existed. I write because it satisfies something in me, not to get praise from others. However, if the praise comes.....I'll take it :-). Thank You, I will be forever changed by the class. Clori Jones
Pros: Well Presented, Exciting, Remarkable

I didn't notice until after I read that I used almost all of the tools that they taught me in class and all the constuctive criticism. Like looking around at all the audience to establish a connection with everybody. Not performing my piece monotone, but adjusting my tone as to the tone of the poem. With the help that they gave me, I gained courage enough to perform. Having people come up to me and tell me how they liked my performance will never leave me. And I thank you for that. He didn't write my words but He taught me how to speak them. And for that I am eternally in Poetri and Juren's debt!
Pros: builds confidence, gives stage prescence, taught me not to be a

that is one thing that Poetri teaches. poetry from the heart. this had to be the most fun i have ever had in a classroom. i learned while i laughed. and at the end of the day, i came out a more confident performer. i performed last week at my very first poetry reading and people were amazed that it was me up there. i am normally a little shy, but POETRI brought the POET out in me. i can never thank him enough.
Pros: energetic, fun, didn't want it to end

Poetri is an amazing teacher. I took his group class twice as well as an individual class. He really knows how to meet you where you are and take you where you want to be. I would reccomend this class to anyone. You won't regret it.
Pros: Educational, Motivational, Exciting

This class is more than any ordinary speaking course. It's a course in listening to your own voice. Knowing your own talent, Recognizing your own ability, and finding that you are already all of the things you want to be, right at that moment. Poetri and Juren hold a mirror up[ to you, and let you see yourself. The class does not impose it's ideas upon you, nor does it let you run off into a wild useless tangent. Poetri and Juren truly help you to realize who you are in your individuality, style, and talent with POSITIVE encouragements.
Pros: Creative, Challenging, Exposing
Cons: Too Short, Too Short, Too Short!
