After reading newer reviews of this spot, I have to point out that this is a downtown locals-based bar. The regulars make it fun, and that's who the owners care about. Most weekend "clubbers" are oblivious to the fact that 107 is one of the only bars downtown that doesn't turn away bike messengers based on yuppie generalizations. If you're cool, you're fine. If your a d0uchebag, the owners don't care what you think. (the bouncers used to point west and say "hollywood is that way" while pointing west for overdressed prospective patrons). Bottom line is, bar 107 is not a "club" concerned with making tons of money and attracting large crowds. At the end of the day, it's a well loved facet of the downtown community, not a hollywood transplant in downtown.
Pros: Rafa the disco dancing barback
Cons: weekend crowds who don't respect the neighborhood
