You can talk to Dr. Carroll about anything. She makes you feel completely comfortable and she seems to really understand whatever it is you're going through. I have worked through lots of concerns and tough situations with her, so I can't imagine there's anything she couldn't help with. She's helped me learn to reduce and cope with my anxiety, worry, and mild depression. I've also figured out how to resolve issues with other people much more effectively. She's really a great therapist.
Pros: atmosphere, relationship

My wife and I began seeing Dr. Carroll about a year ago, shortly after we got engaged. At the time, we didn't really think we needed therapy, but wanted to go just to "work out the wrinkles" before getting married. What we've discovered is that, while we were a really good couple already, we had lots of learning to do before we could have the best relationship possible. Now, we are so much better at working through problems, we enjoy each other more, and the relationship is stronger than ever. We each know ourselves better, understand what we both want and need from each other & we're able to convey that & obtain it. So, if you want to improve your relationship and yourself, here's the therapist for you.
Pros: understanding therapist, nice office, challenging but very helpful experience

As a Beverly Hills-based surgeon, at times I feel it's my ethical duty to refer patients for psychotherapy, namely when psychological concerns affect physical health. I regularly refer patients to Dr. Carroll for the treatment of anxiety, depresssion, and body-image issues. I have witnessed remarkable changes and received strikingly positive feedback among patients. For anyone seeking psychotherapy or who makes referrals to therapists, I strongly urge you to consider Dr. Carroll, particularly for mood disorders, low self-esteem, and couples counseling.
Pros: highly recommended beverly hills psychotherapy

I would refer anyone to Maggie. She is very understanding, non-judgmental, caring, and intelligent. I tried a few other therapists before getting referred to Maggie by my general practitioner. The difference between her and the others is that Maggie is able to grasp what you're going through really quickly and helps you to see your role in your own problems. Better yet, she manages to do that without making you feel stupid or weak in anyway. I was also able to manipulate my other therapists to avoid addressing tough issues. Fortunately, Maggie does not allow me to get away with this, so I know I am constantly making progress. When I look back at who I was when I started therapy with Maggie, I see an entirely different person!!
Pros: Nice office, understanding therapist, amazing growth process

I have found Maggie to be an incredibly helpful therapist. She has drastically helped me to see myself, my relationships, and my decisions more clearly. Now that I've worked with her for a while, I notice myself making better choices and living out who I am, as opposed to who other people want me to be.

Before seeing Dr. Carroll, my wife and I were ready to call it quits. Now we are not only surviving, but are finding our relationship more rewarding and fulfilling than ever. Dr. Carroll taught us how to communicate with each other and how to better understand each other. Prior to therapy with Dr. Carroll, we thought we were good communicators - it's clear now that we were not! Now, our relationship has been drastically strengthened by the knowledge that there's no problem that we can't tackle.
Pros: nice atmosphere, tremendous growing experience
Cons: the process isn't always fun, can be very difficult and draining

It is very difficult to find a good therapist in L.A. Not only because this city is so big, but also because there are unfortunatley so many bad ones out there. In my experience I went through 4 before I found one who I felt not only comfortable with, but that I felt was capable of applying their knowledge to my situation in order to help me. It is so important to find someone who can guide you with whatever issues you are encountering, and Dr. Carroll has the people skills, the understanding, and knowledge to provide this. I cannot recommend her enough.

I have several patients working with Dr. Carroll especially for longstanding weight management issues and digestive complaints. They report feeling like she 'gets it' and is exceptionally helpful at generating practical solutions that fit their particular lifestlye and needs. After speaking with her regarding different patients, I feel that extremely comfortable with her knowledge and appreciation for the mind-body link. I highly recommend her services.
