my new favorite salon

I live in Glendale, but had been trekking over to trendy Silverlake to get my hair done. I just couldn't find the time to get over there, so I finally went to Alina. What was I waiting for?! The salon is sooo close to my house, has plenty of parking and is in a beautiful upstairs loft with views of the mountains. Alina really took the time to listen to what I wanted in a haircut and then gave me just what I wanted and needed. I've had so many compliments! The salon was very busy that day, so like a good restaurant, I think a busy salon is a sign of a good salon with happy customers. I'll be going back soon : )

Thank Goodness!

Thank Goodness for A la Mode Hair Studio and Maria Blankevoort! I am a new client here and for the past 20 years have been going to the same salon in Glendale, when my stylist decided to move! (How dare she! hehe) I was very sad to see my stylist move because it's so difficult to find someone that you love and trust to do your hair.

I am an older woman, and the older I get the more picky I become about my hair and who styles it, so naturally I was a little hesitant to try someone new after 20 years but Maria was HIGHLY recommended by my old stylist and so I trusted her opinion and went. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. She is a young, sweet girl and listened to my needs and was very patient with me. I know it's hard being the new stylist when a client is so set in their ways, but she surpassed every expectation and I must say I will be a returning client. I couldn't be any happier!

The Salon itself is clean, and they offer snacks and drinks and made me feel very comfortable in my first experience there. Great Salon and talented stylists. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Great Atmosphere

I have been coming here over a year and my experience has been awesome. The girls are very friendly and professional. Alina has been taking care of my highlights and extentions. People give me so many compliments on my hair. Love, love this salon. I would definately recommend this place & my hair stylist Alina to anyone.

DO NOT GO TO MARIA! HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!

I am absolutely disgusted by Maria Blankevoort actions at this salon.

She didn't listen to what i wanted, she destroyed my hair, and on TOP of that, she offered to fix it, and then flatly changed her mind! so unprofessional! she left me with fried, ugly hair! COMPLETELY HORRIBLE!!

the cut is bad, the color is muddy, dingy, and whacked, and NOT WHAT I WANTED!, and literally makes me cry.... as a friend said, my hair is now: 'a hot mess' what a terrible experience, on every level. I am truly devastated.

Knowing Maria, I know she does amazing work, not sure what must have gone wrong...I am sure there is a good reason for the experience you have had! Arsineh is awesome!!!!!

You have to ask for Arsineh! I've been going to her for many many years now and followed her everywhere and when she landed here, it's an awesome salon!!! I've never met a such talented hair dresser like Arsineh. You tell her what you want and she'll give you her opinion and you go with it. Love the way she cuts, color makeup and styles my hair. She does amazing job .A La Mode hair studio is located in the right spot. Go get your hair done and go shopping after!!! And to top it off everyone there is so friendly and happy all the time. And to top it off they have a great selection of hair products! .. Love it!!! Love it!!! Love it!!!! Remember ask for Arsineh!!!!!

Lovely

The moment you walk into A'La Mode, you know that you're not in any typical hair salon. The space is goregous. It really matches my aesthetic. I was referred here by a close friend because the place I had been going to closed down. (btw there seem to be a hundred different hair salons in Glendale).

My stylist was Maria. I needed the whole deal. I needed to touch up my roots, I need some highlights and a cut. It had been a couple of months since I had my hair done.

My hair turned out great. I didn't have one complaint about how it looked. Maria did a fantastic job and she was so nice. I spent a pretty penny at the salon and that was the only drawback that I could find. I'm not really used to paying so much for my hair. I do have to say they did a fantastic job.

Maria works her magic!

Maria did an absolutely AMAZING job on my color and extensions. She is very professional and skilled at what she does, and it definitely shows in her work! The salon was very nice and had a positive, upbeat atmosphere, which made my experience that much more enjoyable! I have never received so many compliments on my hair before! It's extremely hard to come by a stylist that you are constantly happy with the results you get, and Maria always delivers! Could not be more content! Thank you Maria for making me beautiful!

Lindsey Spray's Facials are a sweet treat!

Getting a facial from Lindsey was relaxing, rejuvenating and FUN! Not only does Lindsey give you the ultimate treatment but she also uses products that are all natural and smell delicious. I left feeling so well taken care of of took home with me the oatmeal scrub that she used on me by SIAN. Lindsey is so attentive and thorough with her treatment I highly recommend you see for yourself.

Fantastic Facial with Lindsey!!!

I've been going to see Lindsey Spray (facialist) for years and she never disappoints! I received the custom facial and she tailored her treatments to my specific problem areas. I have combination skin (oily forehead, nose and chin but my cheeks can get dry) and tend to get some clogged pores on my nose. She did a thorough exfoliation and was very gentle when performing extractions. Afterwords she put a nice moisturizer from Siane on my face as well as an SPF since I was leaving when the sun was still up. I do NOT use beauty products that have sodium laurel sufate or parabins - those things are toxic and the products she uses, from Siane, do not contain any of these ingredients. Lindsey's facials are *truly* good for our skin - what a concept!! Love the service I get with Lindsey, I've already made my next appointment (in 4 weeks) and can't wait to see her again! Thanks Lindsey for making my skin look radiant!
