Where's The Owners Head
by buddymann
No I've never eaten at Sabastians, but I think I know a foolish egotist when I see one. Too bad because Chief Gordon could have turned around this establishment if the owner would have let him. The staff tried hard to change and the cook/manager Lou came across as a winner and an all out sincere employee. I think Sabastian was hoping Chief Ramsey would swoon over his food and give "Sabastians" the push to franchise row. His business was failing and he called on the Chief to help turn it around.. Surprise Surprise. this fool distroyed the golden goose that was giving him a golden egg. Lesson learned? NO He knew better and now he's gone. Too bad.... (and yes, i think the 5star reviews were written by the same individual, probably Sabastian himself. )
- Pros: willing staff
- Cons: owners ego
Glad it's Gone

Bad service, bad food and beer served at a cracklingh cold 70 degrees made this place a must to avoid!
the ego is the problem

Yes, it is unfair to review a restaurant based on a TV show, you are actually reviewing the TV show. But some reality does come through. Anyone who knows anything about this Chef Ramsey guy knows what he's getting into. He's going to bring in a complete re-vamp, not a tweak. He addresses the strengths and points out (rather forcefully) the weaknesses.
The biggest problem most of these guys seem to face is their inflated egos. If their concepts/executions were right they wouldn't be sinking.
Buh-bye! We won't miss you!

I work right in this immediate area and use the post office next door to Sebastien's quite a bit. One time (prior to Gordon Ramsey's visit) I was walking by on my way to the post office and a group of men were hanging out one of the tables next to the sidewalk. They were smoking and leering at every woman that walked by. I was so completely disgusted I made a mental note to NEVER dine there.
When I saw this restaurant on Kitchen Nightmare's and Sebastien himself my jaw dropped. That was one of the men I saw acting like a pig that day! I laughed out loud at what an absolutely lazy, disgusting ignoranomous he was. His wife was getting the raw end of that deal from every angle from what it seemed.
A few weeks after that episode aired I went to the post office again and when driving down the alley behind Sebastien's I saw a sign that looked hastily scribbled on a piece of paper on the back door saying it was closed. It looked like a child wrote it. Even his last hurrah was half-assed. He did not deserve a successful restaurant and he sure didn't get one. Score one for Mr. Ramsay! :)
- Pros: location
- Cons: you name it
Awful, Awful, Awful
by foodndrink
Sebastian, you are an alcoholic and lazy phony. Go microwave some of those cheap frozen burritos and choke on one you fat worthless pig. Your resturaunt's concept is unique for one reason- nobody else is stupid enough to actually be capable of thinking this menu would work. Do the world a favor and stop cooking. Just keep leeching money from your wife, stay at home, watch TV all day and get fat from microwaved processed trash that you tried to peddle off as gourmet food.
Keep it Simple

I watched the Kitchen Nightmares like most of you. I was a little amazed at Sebastian's attitude for change but during the conversation he had with Chef Gordon. He mentioned, "he wanted to be put on the map". Hmmm! He was expecting with TV exposure , people would flip over his ingenious menu he would have that much needed exposure. He really felt he had a winning formula for success and all it needed was Gordon's endorsement and the franchisees, Banquet Frozen Foods etc. would be banging his door down the next day for some of his microwavable pizza. I'm sure he felt he was already selling the frozen food pizza, it just needed to be boxed up and shipped out because his mother and father (especially mother) told him he could cook. What he didn't realize u don't sell frozen pizza to people who are dining out, anybody could stay home and put a pizza in a microwave. People go out for things they can't simply do at home. He should have either built a great restaurant that sold great wood fired pizza, then possibly franchise and eventually sell frozen pizza or just go straight to frozen pizza sold in stores. Anyway his loss and that's my $0.02.
New Name?

So I'm temporarily living in the area. My friend and I decided to go to this location on Monday. So this is after Sebastians closed. On Monday it was called Robano's (i think.) Anyway. The food was great. Service was prompt. Even my friend who is really picky about restaurants commented on how pleased he was. He even said it was the best pizza he had had in LA (He's from NY and I've taken him to Lamonicas, Frankie and Johnnies, etc) It wasnt until today that I was talking to my coworker about Kitchen nightmares and she mentioned Sebastians and I googled it that i realized it was the same location. It must be under new ownership. Its still a pizza/Italian place. I'd totally go back. So 5 stars to Robanos.
- Pros: Considering Toluca isnt known for its food, this is a yummy pizza joint
- Cons: none that i know if except that sebastians was formerly here
Sebastian is an ingrate

I also came online looking to see if his rest. was still open, after seeing the last episode of KN. What kind of fool has the help of a world renound chef like Gordon getting him on his feet, then decides to blo it the way he did and all due to his ego? He could have been sooo succsessful had he just listened to Gordon. And what an ungrateful piece of work Sebastian is, to treat Gordon the way he did when he was just trying to help. Although I feel bad for the employees, and his family, I'm also glad his rest is is closed!!! He deserves nothing less after his behavior!!! Gggrrr!!!
worst attempt to succeed in business
by harispilton
OK so reality tv is not reality but when Sebastian kept arguing with Chef Ramsey made me lose respect without having to eat his food with an attitude. I am so pleased to see his place shut down especially since he reminded me of a little elf.
Did anyone notice his little walk about he wanted the cameras to go away so he could smoke some mairjane. He came back high as a kite and was as nice as can be until his reality set back in that he is a little sneak. Cutting corners makes him a phony.
I would open a restaurant if I could get Ramsey to set it straight. Had the Elf acted like he wanted success perhaps the public response would have been better.
Sebastian I hope your wife leaves you and you never cook again. I?m not sure when your doors closed, but I hope they slammed you in the butt. I totally feel sorry for his staff but they had to see this coming. I mean when you work for a donk it was bound to collapse.
I hope this isn?t a spelling bee contest because it is late and frankly I don?t care. A little advice for future recipients of Ramseys help, eat your pride and shut the hell up. The tv time alone would send your restaurant to the next level as long as you give good face on tv. If ppl really liked you they could overlook some crappyness in your food. I also hope some of you who have eaten there are mad at me because I am writing this review based purely on the fact that SEBASTIAN showed his azz. HA Twirp, go smoke your joints in Cali and be sure to microwave you some doughnuts with your leftover dough.
- Pros: his clown attitude made me laugh
- Cons: treated Ramseys help like a chess match

Thank God this toilet closed! Sebastian was a buffoon! If anybody SEES that skunk ask him if how much money he lost. The loss looks like a telephone number it is so large.
I feel sorry for his wife Nicole, this clown lost a lot of her family money.
