A+ for Food and Drinks!

by nwfndlf

Not sure what the previous review is talking about, because when I went there this past weekend I was able to order my Burger Medium Rare. We had a great time and the staff was excellent, very personable and helpful. I love the place and ambiance, they did a great interior design job and it's a fun place to be!

  • Pros: Free Valet Parking!, Drinks!, Cheap!

Don't waste your time at Boulevard

by geoff211

You could park an aircraft carrier inside the restaurant at 730pm on a Friday night there was one other couple in the restaurant. Immediately I began to wonder about the freshness and the rotation of the food. I ordered, the KOBE Burger. The waitress asked how I would like it cooked and I said "Medium Rare" (Kobe needs to be cooked as close to medium-rare as possible. Kobe is a really fatty type beef but when cooked the fat is cooked away by the heat and you are left with a super juicy piece of meat If it's overcooked you are left with a brick). The server said, well the only way we can cook it is "MEDIUM WELL Meat lovers, we are talking about a hamburger here not a piece of beef jerky. I think now we know why this restaurant is empty on a Friday night.

  • Cons: Empty, no food rotation

Awesome

by ksanova

I don't know what people were complaining about. I took my date there and it was an awesome experience. She loved the food...I was impressed with the New York steak. It is huge and the price was very good to what amount of food we were getting. I loved the atmosphere and the waitress was very helpful in explaining some of the sauces. They had great music and the manager was very laid back and gave us drinks and a dessert on the house. Overall, I loved the place and have been back twice already. Sometimes the place is empty but I figure it is cause it is so new and people dont know about it. Thanks for the awesome experience.

  • Pros: Great Food, Laid back service, Great pricing

Never Going Back

by anju007

Wow. I had the complete opposite experience at BLVD on Valentine's Day. We had an 8:15 pm reservation. We arrived on time, and were seated immediately. It took 25 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes, the "manager" took our order. An hour later, he approached us and told us that they ran out of paper and our order never made it in. We asked for our appetizer and my salad, which he never brought back. We then asked the bus-boy for some bread. He returns to tell us that they "ran out" of bread. After an hour and 7 minutes - we left. As we were leaving, the "manager" yells out "hey guys. Sorry about that." Seriously? We'll never return. We do, however, recommend the Italian restaurant across the way. Much better.

Food is amazing, Service needs to revamp!

by 2xist

I went to BLVD for the Valentine's event. The ambiance was very nice in the beginning. A dark lit restaurant with a hint of jazz in the background. Unfortunately by the end of the day, the jazz was gone and a more upbeat "clubbing" music was in the air. The food was great. We had the house salad, our choice of steaks (try the peppercorn sauce), extensive selection of wine from Napa and choice of desert (chocolate fudge was sinful). However, with great quality food should come great service. The floor manager, Ernesto was great. However the other waiters and hostess need some more training. In perspective, Ruth Chris quality food with Sizzler's service. All in all, if you're patient for service and looking for amazing food, drive to the BLVD.

  • Pros: Steak, Wine selection, Ernesto
  • Cons: Service needs work, Lil pricey for the, quality of service

Excellent Food and Great Atmosphere

by viola80

My colleague and I recently ate here for lunch and were impressed by the food and the environment. I loved the chicken skewers with the enoke mushroom sauce! There was a good portion of food so I left full. The menu was also very creative and unique. The staff was friendly and the interior was very classy. The only thing we found odd was when my colleague asked for her dressing on the side, and the server told us that it was not possible because the chef likes to toss it in the back. I have never been to a restaurant (especially a nice one like this) where they won't put the dressing on the side....however, I know they have only recently opened, so i am sure things like this will be smoothed out...

Overall, this was a great experience and we will most likely be returning.

Hybrid steakhouse and sports bar enlivens West L.A. mini-mall with hearty lunch and dinner menu.

by Contributor

In Short
On the ground floor of a congested strip mall, the restaurant's dark-tinted door is surrounded by shiny-black subway tiles and oversized pictures of New York City. A well-situated bar overlooks the dining room, presided over by two large plasma screens and several high-top tables with barstool seating. With floor-to-ceiling windows, the quiet dining room is minimally decorated with cozy black-leather chairs and frill-free tabletops. Coined as a fusion steakhouse, selections range from porterhouse cuts to Asian-inspired salmon wrapped in banana leaves.

OVERPRICED, TERRIBLE SERVICE, GHOST TOWN

by westlafood

Avoid this place at all costs. The prices are outrageous for what you get (19.00 for an appetizer salad that consisted only of lettuce, a few scattered tomatoes, and an egg), and the service is terrible. The table cover was stained, we had to ask for salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, cream, etc., and both the food and the coffee were cold. The wait staff had the class of that from Denny's, and during our three hour stay there (6:30-9:30pm), we saw only one other table of two people. There is a reason this place is not crowded - it is overpriced (70.00 per person (we had three people) with only two shared meals), with bad, inexperienced service, and the presentation is in desperate need of improvement. I have read the reviews that precede mine, and I am very suspicious of their veracity in light of our experience.

The steaks cut like butter!

by jesq05

The steaks are absolutely AMAZING, each piece melts in your mouth. I like the different sauces, all unique and each is very complimentary. You have to try the white enoke mushroom sauce and the spicy chocolate sauce. Not to mention the Chilean wine, which completed the meal perfectly. We also LOVED the fusion appetizers: kimchi pancake and the prawns, yum! The place itself is quite beautiful, a great place to impress a date. I've been back for cocktails, the lounge area is very comfortable and stylish, try the lychee martini for a sweet, but not too sweet cocktail.

Great New Place to TRY!

by uscgirlusc

I was so excited to see such a swanky new spot in place of the 'ol House of Ribs and was even more delighted by the excellent food! The experiance overall was really nice- comfortable and modern decor really added taste to the atmosphere and the service was great! Food wise, I was tempted by so many of the uniquely fused flavours like lemon grass prawns with wasabi wrapped asparagus! The ahi tuna was fantastic as well! Being a steakhouse we had to also try the meat which was cooked to perfection and served with a a choice of delicious sauces! We went during happy hour (5-7 weeknights) and found a good crowd of people and great music. Definately make your way out for lunch, dinner or even just drinks beofre this place gets to crowded and booked up!!
