Best cheese in Studio city

by 1cinda1 at Citysearch

You cannot be in rush here, it is slow like other reviewers have stated. but if you have time and its your turn,

they take their sweet time with YOU, sampling, cutting slowly, its so anti-fast food here. don't know how they are with sit down service, but will try it again soon.

  • Pros: Wow, cheese like candy
  • Cons: its busy

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE

by horthette at Citysearch

This by far is the worst experience for customer service you can ever have. If you think at least it will be first come first serve YOU ARE WRONG! If you think it's not busy today I am sure I will get service YOU ARE WRONG! The cheese can be purchased at other cheese stors or even at mayfair market. DON'T BOTHER if you are expecting to be treated like a human being.

  • Pros: they have cheese
  • Cons: the service is slow rude and nonexistence

BAD SERVICE

by cheeselver at Citysearch

The cheese is great BUT now that they are popular THE CUSTOMER SERVICE is horrid! Many times I have now goen in and NOT been waited on due to a lack of structure to their business. For god skaes people EVEN Ralphs has a number system. If you want to continue to grow invest in a system. If you want to lose customers who purchase over 200. each time they visit just keep doing what you're doing. DO not visit if you are in a hurry or believe in first come first serve.

  • Pros: great cheese
  • Cons: bad service

Great Customer Service!

by imangelal at Citysearch

I read a review before I went about bad customer service but wanted to check it out anyway because other reviews didn't deny the quality of the food and cheese selection and I was in the mood for gourmet. Went with a friend for a quick bite and the nicest chef type helped us out. He suggested menu items and cheese selections and even let us taste many of his favorite varirties. The cheeses are amazing there and our experience was much more pleasant than I expected it would be. I'd rate this little place as a great stop-in and get your gourmet fix spot. The only con I found is that we smelled like food/oil when we left- maybe the place needs a bit better ventillation in the kitchen.

  • Pros: Def thumbs up- not easy to find great little gourmet food shops in this town.
  • Cons: Needs better ventilation inside- we left smelling like a pannini :)

Sandwich shop or fromagerie?

by tastee at Citysearch

Every city we travel to, we always try to visit every cheese store. Actually, when we saw the wording on this place, with 'gallery of cheese', we thought our cheese monger in Portland had opened an annex in his old home town. Well the similarity ended with the stolen phrases. Service was brusque, to put it mildly, and the cheese knowledge was not quite what we are used to back home. If the focus is on being a sandwich shop, I understand. But with so many untrained people opening cheese shops these days, it just makes it harder for us to find a traditionally trained fromager.

  • Pros: Good sandwiches
  • Cons: Not a true fromagerie

Unique, friendly, and surprisingly delicious.

by soothseeker99 at Citysearch

This is a sort of quaint casual little cheese shop / neighborhood cafe-type place with about 6 or 7 tables. Besides the cheese and a bunch of interesting gourmet items like the interested selection of peanut butters (banana, chocolate, etc.) they also have a nice menu of salads and possibly the best sandwich I've eaten ANYWHERE. But the number one thing is the cheese plates. You pick what kind of cheeses you want, and they're really friendly and helpful. Then they bring them out, along with little dried fruits that compliment the particular cheeses that youve chosen. It's a really neat experience, expecially if you appreciate gourmet cheese.

The Worst Customer Service Ever!

by sheilashine at Citysearch

After my first bad experience, I gave them one more chance because the roast beef sandwich was good. But, again, their customer service was appaling! My first visit was on a Saturday and they were busy, so I cut them some slack. Today, however, they were empty. They let me stand at the counter, menu in hand, eyeing them waiting for acknowledgment as two of the employees stood there bickering at the cash register about what to buy from Trader Joe's for their restaurant. After 5 minutes they finally told me they were no longer serving sandwiches and to come back tomorrow! I will never go back and make sure none of my firends even bother to waste their time there either! Why bother, just close the shop before you fail miserably. Boo!! Hiss!

The Artisan Cheese Gallery is a unique experience full of delicious cheese and unique food. Their array of cheeses is amazing and I highly recommend that you wonder on over to this adorable little cheese shop in the heart of Studio City.

P.S. There sandwiches are to die for.

Fabulous

by castletonlv at Citysearch

This place has terrific cheeses and lovely service. They are liberal in providing samples -- wisely, because the more of their cheeses you taste, the more you cannot do without. Once they have a sense of what you like, they'll bring you a ridiculous array of others try. Choosing is the biggest difficulty. Just delicious!

  • Pros: Friendly service, Amazing cheese
