Awesome entertainment
by helene Udy
Saw Lisa Zane who appears there on Monday nights.
Awesome crowd!
Lisa Zane the singer I saw, transforms the room with her passion and tales of love and loss . I was reminded of all those gorgeous full throated ladies of torch from all over the world. But then! I found out most of the music was written and composed by her. The evening was completely unrefined, in its utter refinement;.Sometimes Raucous, sometimes emotional, she's got a wicked wit, which is rare for a beauitiful woman,. I dug it.Ps: The place is awesome too. Like an old Russian pub. Low lights , mirrors brick walls. And gorgeous people everywhere.

- Pros: Cool hang
- Cons: had to find if you dont know it.
Great Setting

This was a great place to relax and the drinks. The only down turn is that the drinks are on the expensive side
- Pros: Relaxing
- Cons: Expensive
Bar B.S. Is More Like It
by OMGBabe
UGH! I wish I had read the other reviews here before going to this hole. An otherwise divey bar with DOORMAN ATTITUDE FROM HELL. The sooner this kind of b.s. goes out of business the better. Yes they have a great vodka list but trust me, just going to Trader Joe's and buying a bottle of the cheap stuff to drink in the alley would be more pleasant than this. Come meet me at Bar Lubitsch, I'll be inside while the doorman keeps you waiting for over an hour..... just because. Guys, if I find out you like this place, there's no way I'd date ya. Drink up!
- Pros: Vodka list
- Cons: Everything else imaginable STARTING WITH THE DOORMEN
Bar Lubitsch

Cute scene and bar. They have great drinks and what's even better is they serve Absinthe. Not a lot of bars do that!
TAKE EVERYTHING OUT OF YOUR CAR WHEN YOU VALET HERE!
by eliteqt
I utilized the valet at Bar Lubitsch on Wednesday December 17. Outside of the valet taking 10 minutes to get my car, I had no problems with the service until the next morning. I keep bottled water in my car, and I had a brand new bottle in my cup holder. On my way to the gym early the next morning, I realized that not only had the valet DRANK my water… he left the empty bottle in the cup holder. I was completely grossed out, and felt a little violated. I mean if someone is brazen enough to do that, what else are they doing in your car? Perish the thought….
- Pros: Good crowd, interesting spot
- Cons: The Valets
Best crowd, awesome drinks and great music!!!!!!
by Mojitos83
I just came back from there in a very nice mood! So, I had to write a review, because I found this place due to the previous reviews. A very nice, neat, clean, place, a beautiful crowd, mid 20s to mid 30s. No harassing guys. The drinks are normal prices from $8-12, the service; very nice and the music; very funky, 80s, old school, and 70s. I recommend to go there for fun times. The door-guys pretty cool and awesome! no attitude and no fits! I loved there, I'd definitely go there. It's a West LA hot spot! Cheers. :D
- Pros: Good drink, good place, fun people, great music, great bouncers.
- Cons: No cons
Best Bar/Club in LA.... HANDS DOWN!
by PartyGirlLA
I've been to this bar a few times now... and I am ADDICTED! I will surely be making Lubitsch ("The Bitsch") my new regular spot, as I keep having the best nights ever there! Where do I begin....?
First of all, the Doormen at Lubitsch are the COOLEST I have ever met! They are super duper friendly and helpful...EVEN when there's a CRAZY line outside on the weekends. They fill up really quick on Friday and Saturday...so you HAVE TO get there before 11 if you don't want to wait. Otherwise... BE NICE, have a little patience... and they always help you out! (Getting to know them a little also helps... I heart "The One They Call Stone" who has dreads, and Brian the cute guy with shaggy hair! ;), or...TIP THEM...this is LA people...Greasing the wheels always works!)
Once your in.... the DECOR ROCKS! Awesome old Russian look and feel... The specialty drinks are ALL out of this world... I have dreams about the Cucumber Gimblet! SO YUMMY! The Bartenders are all super sweet... they make STIFF drinks...have GREAT recommendations too! They've got like hundreds of kinds of Vodka..!
It's like a super chill lounge/bar in the front room....and a dance party in the back room. What more can you ask for...? The guy's there are not your typical LA grease bags.... most of them are local, and pretty chill. As a girl, you can wear pretty much anything and not feel out of place. Like I said...this is now my new Go-To Bar. I love it!
See you at 'The Bitsch,'

- Pros: Hot Doormen, Stiff Drinks, Nice People
- Cons: Only open till 2am... Boo LA.
Bad time
by bida
I've been to this bar man times and never been treated so badly.
I've gone for my birthday (2 years ago) and had a blast. I went one time after that and the music was too loud and I just left angry. Then this summer/fall we started hitting it up again lots after drinking at our favorite martini bar Lola's just down the street on fairfax. I had many a good time at bar Lubitsch...and then last saturday happened. My friend had a birthday dinner at Lola's and 8 of the guests decided to go to Lubitsch while me and a friend finished our drink and would meet them in 30 minutes. We get there probably about 10:30 and their is a short line outside - because our friend did not reserve a guest list in there we waited on the line outside. We looked fine - dressed up - there were maybe two or three groups in front of us - and the bouncer told us it was filled to capacity and he would try to get us in soon. Well first one group of his "friends" came to say hello and he let them in. Fine whatever....but this consistently happened - they would assure us they were filled to capacity and then they would let 5 more of his "friends" in. I understand the group he let in cause they paid him - I even understand a group or two of his friends - but when it gets to be upwards of 50 or more and he says that it is filled to capacity it is absurd. ABSURD. Finally 45 minutes later my friends came out and said it wasn't worth us being outside and them in. 10 of us drinking inside would have been a lot of gross on the bar - 10 happy people? no? so we took our business back to Lola's. When I spoke my mind to the bouncer dude in his stupid pansy a** corduroy jacket he said he was doing his best to let us in as they were filled to capacity bull....and I said you kept letting people you knew in - he gave some lame a** excuse...whatever bar lubitsch - you lost confidence in one ...don't know if I will be able to come back....as long as that pansy a** is still working there.
- Pros: good pomegranite martini
- Cons: horrible outdoor service
Never.

Gilded in our weekend best, my friends and I stopped by the well-respected Bar Lubitsch--something tells me it doesn't take its name from the tasteful, thoughtful films of Ernst Lubitsch, whose criticisms of Nationalist Socialist Germany (the n-word is prohibited) the bouncers could certainly learn from--to meet some more friends who got there before 10. We arrived around 10:30, and paramount to our quest was for with one member of our party to meet up with a potential female mate within the steely confines of the bar. Weeks of careful Facebook messaging had led to this moment.
There were 6 people in front of us in line at 10:30, and though I was wearing a collared shirt from my summer job four years ago and my friend a sparkling pair of Asics, it seemed that, given the time and space within the bar, we would be in there opening tabs and spending dozens of dollars on drinks that I'm certain were overpriced.
Sadly, I was never able to actually patronize Bar Lubitsch besides being an unattractive billboard for them. 12:15 rolled around--1 hour and 45 minutes we stood in line--and we were next, being lied to repeatedly by the bouncer that we would be in shortly. If not blinded by foolish Eros, we would have left an hour earlier and left to drink elsewhere, but no matter. We questioned why groups of guys--often without girls, and often with mohawks--were let into the bar willy-nilly. One member of our party peaced out after three douchenozzles with matching sweaters tied 'round their necks like Nantucket nancies were showed the way in--sans females!--while we steamed uselessly.
It's not that we're pathetic people--I know and accept that it takes a certain kind of loser to wait in line for over 90 minutes on a Friday for a bar that, by all accounts, looks prime to disappoint. Despite my own shortcomings, I know that I am not a trio of fuckbuckets with sweaters tied round my neck. A truly abominable treatment of people looking to have fun on a Friday.
- Pros: the weather was nice
- Cons: the bouncing staff was awful
Unhappy with the bouncers and the line situation
by seeyainLA
Before last night, I went to the bar on a Friday with 2 of my female friends and we got in, no problem, no wait. However, last night (Saturday), I went with a group of 15 for my friend's birthday. We waited in line for 45 min-1 hr! It was ridiculous because the bouncers continuously let in smaller groups for no wait at all. You're probably thinking: groups of females, and you're right, but they were nothin' special!
The bouncers finally let the bday girl in with 1 friend, while the rest of us stood angrily outside, until they eventually let us in in groups of 5. In summary, I was not impressed by the outdoors staff.
- Cons: bouncers, line
