Went to a birthday party here awhile ago. Had a great time. The music was good and so were the drinks. I sort of agree with that last review...drinks are pricey, not a fan of that but I'm well paid so I don't mind too much...and yes, the drawing room has cheap drinks and cheap women...prolly the easiest place in l.a. for a one night stand...
Pros: great music, vibe and drinks
Cons: typical L.A. nonsense

I went to Lubitsch on a Friday night at 10:30 and had no problems with the line. I did, however, get the third degree for my Drivers License even though it was legitmate. Once inside, the opening room was full of casual not so great looking people. Going through a dark, red, corridor you end up at the backroom, where there are a few people dancing to some interesting spins (not the "latest" hits you would find at a supper lounge). If you're looking for the atmospher of a lounge, this isn't the place. This is a causual and lax environment. The worst part is the line at the bars. It took me and my girlfriends about 10 minutes to finally get our drinks. Price for a vodka soda was around $11
Pros: Casual, not long lines to get inside
Cons: Drink lines and over-the-top-security

Being a European in LA is a strange experience when it comes to nightlife. The ID obsession is funny at first, and then it becomes annoying, as it did at this bar, when the doorman decided that my driving license was insufficient and asked me if I had my passport with me. Now, is it just me, or does anyone else think that bringing my most important document to a bar, where I could potentially loose my purse after a wild night on the tiles is a really stupid idea?! Or maybe they are taking the Russian theme so seriously that you need a visa to get in? Eventually he did let me in, grudgingly. The decor is great, although Russia is not the first place that sprang to mind - it felt more French in the front room. I had a couple of vodka cocktails, as befits the place, but I have to agree with the nice man at the bar that they use some poor quality vodka - it was vile. Our group ventured into the back room, which had a great atmosphere going, and was just the right side of full, especially for a Wednesday night. We had a lot a fun dancing, which was down to the fact that we had a great group of friends, and not down to the music, which was really poor. Not only was the choice of music odd (Madonna Like a Virgin being a prime example) but the CD kept on skipping. There was a DJ there, but in all honesty, the taxi driver home had a better selection and mixed it better. So in a nutshell, fun can be had if you are in good company, even at this place, which is okay, but not worth any hype.
Pros: Ambience
Cons: Bad music, rough vodka

This place rocks. No nonsense at the door. Plus three different vibes to choose from. Ultra chill outside patio vibe, classic bar vibe inside, and dance club vibe in the back. The sound system in the back is banging. Sounds like they put sub woofers in the booths. Two bars make getting a drink a quick process, plus the $exy bartenders are actually in a good mood. Imagine that!!! I loved this place and I can't wait to go back.
Pros: Three diffferent vibes, great soundsystem, no nonsense door policy
Cons: NONE

I can't say enough great things about Bar Lubitsch. This place has now become one of my favorite bars in LA. I recently had my birthday party there and the staff was so accommodating and gracious to all of my friends. The bar itself has some beautiful people and stiff drinks, but it definitely lacks the Hollywood pretension. Also - dancing in the back room rocks. I highly recommend it!
Pros: Great Owners, Stiff Drinks, Fun Crowd
Cons: None!

If you like dancing to ecclectic DJ mixes, a lively ambience, or molotov cocktails, then Bar Lubitsch is definitely for you. While this place is always packed, it almost doesn't matter because it has so many other pros--good vodka drinks, an awesome dj, and a lively dance floor. Definitely good for a girls night out.
Pros: Great drinks, awesome DJ
Cons: Parking is impossible

Fun lively atmosphere with attractive staff serving lots of vodka drinks and everthing else. I have been 3 times now, twice during the week and once on a friday. After 10 this place gets very busy and crowded. Back room has large bar and DJ. Good for private parties. Front bar is cozy and well designed. At entrance there is a large smoking patio with lots of tables and chairs as well as waitresses taking drink orders. Only drawback for singles -- esp men -- is that there are too many men. 3 or 4 to one on all nights. bring a date. Staff friendly, prices mid range. A nice place to have an early drink with friends, unless you crave the later scene.
Pros: Nice atmosphere, good drinks, smoking patio rocks
Cons: Gets Very Crowded. Lopsided male to female ratio

I love Bar Lubitsch and it has become my new go to bar. I think the door policy has finally become a little more relaxed, but I still recommend coming early on the weekends. The specialty drinks are amazing. Definitely try the Ninotchka and any of their flavored vodkas. The bar offers a little something for everyone, from the open air patio in the front to the dance floor in the back. it appears to be a good spot for birthday parties as there is always at least one going on every time I am there. The staff are super friendly and the waitresses in the back do a great job of delivering drinks despite the throngs of crazy dancing people. All in all, you can't go wrong with a night at Lubitsch.
Pros: drinks, dancing and crowd
Cons: sometimes hard to get into

Ok, so I've only been here once - for a friends Birthday, but I loved it here. The bouncer had a little attitude but was cool overall and let us in right away. The bartenders and staff hooked it up with drinks, everyone was really down to earth and just there having a good time while they worked. The atmosphere is energized & there were a lot of hot chicks too. I will definately be going back.
Pros: excellent service
Cons: vallet is the easiest parking on busy nights / can cost some pennies

I had my birthday party here and felt like a regular immediately from my first visit. The two managers who I met separately were gracious, accomodating, professional and had no ego. They did everything to make sure that my guests were happy and having fun. The staff was great and the drinks are wonderful. I recommend it!!
Pros: Great drinks, comfy booths, separate rooms w/ separate atmospheres
