Just thought folks might want to know - I just went there and it is gone!
If Old McDonald had a swanky farm: This Brentwood shopping favorite houses upscale boutiques, eats and services.

In Short
Since 1948, the Brentwood Country Mart has been a popular shopping destination for its affluent community. The charming red barn structure holds a cluster of boutiques featuring high-end goods and old-fashioned services. Find European-styled children's clothing at Flora and Henri, letterpress stationery at Sugar Paper and custom-blended scents at Marie Mason Apothecary. Food offerings include Barney's gourmet burgers and City Bakery's signature pretzel croissants.
Hits: This is a family-friendly spot with all the makings for a fun afternoon.
Misses: Parking and long lines in the food court, particularly on weekends, can be frustrating.
Quaint exterior but kinda boring on the inside

I think the BCM is worth a visit (if you live nearby), but as for the food options, you would think there would be some better choices considering this is in Brentwood (technically, SM). Calypso Home is by far a highlight -- love the home furnishings & decor items -- altho the people working there leave much to be desired. City Bakery is AIIGHHtt... nothing to write home about. The "courtyard" is basically comprised of fast food places, which provides a hangout for teenagers looking for some affordable eats & socializing. Most of the shops are cute inside, but as mentioned, this place is not really a destination -- more of just a cute thing to see on an afternoon and then you're through.
- Pros: calypso home
- Cons: calypso home staff
Everything you need is here !

This place is so classic. It has been here for at least 50 years, but it is so fresh and hip. One of my favorite shops in LA is here, Monogram Market. If you haven't been there, you need to go. My girlfriend bought me a birthday gift here and that's how I found it. It is not at all what you think of when someone say's "Monogram Shop", anotherwords...not cheesy at all. They will monogram all sorts of fabulous and beautiful things you wont find anywhere else. Plus....a bonus, the giftwrapping is so pretty. Another great spot at the Country Mart is the Barber shop.....best spot I've found for a good mani-pedi and a great blow-dry for only $28. Both shops have relly nice people working there too. What a novelty in LA.
Give it a try!
- Pros: Free parking
- Cons: Several of the stores are quite expensive. Nice, but pricey
