Eh...just so-so

by struesdell at Citysearch

I ended up at Bellacures due to citysearch's raving endorsement. I got a same day appointment easily enough for a Tuesday night. Parking wasn't a problem, mostly because it was after 6 on a week night. They weren't busy, and the place was essentially empty. Just two other women getting something done. I got a regular mani-pedi. Nothing too fancy, but not the "mini" versions of their services either. The guy that did my nails was friendly. I'm not much for talking while getting my nails done, but he tried to make polite conversation.

So, the good: the place is clean. New files and brushes opened up for each client. I got to take the files and brush home (not really sure what I'll do with them though). Tools were also right out of the sterilizer packaging. The pedicure was more thorough than the manicure. He took his time. Didn't try to upsell me on any special treatments. The massage was very good, if a little short. They gave me a discount even though I wasn't a "member."

The not so good: maybe the disposable files are good to prove your place is clean, but they weren't the greatest quality files. My nails ended up a little rough on the underside either because the file was too rough or the tech was too rushed with the manicure. My big toe nail broke yesterday because a rough edge snagged on my sock. The cut and shape job on my hands was not great. Uneven and the corners were too sharp (granted, I could have spoken up about this at the time). My pedicure has already chipped. I think the polish was applied too thickly.

Basically, it was okay. I would have expected more for the price/hype. They make a really big deal about how clean they are. Which is great, but really, they should invest a little more effort into making the end product as good as their cleaning habits.

  • Pros: Clean, friendly
  • Cons: average quality, poor filing/shaping.

Great Service and Great staff

by searth at Citysearch

This place is cutting edge for its field. Super clean, they litterally sterilize the tools in a machine like a hospital. Location is right in the heart of Beverly Hills. Plus the owner is very nice and caring of your needs.

Great nail place...but still has its problems.

by bonappetit17 at Citysearch

I love Bellacures, I think it's a great place. However, I wish that the staff was consistent...sometimes I will get someone who is GREAT and other times I will get someone who is just awful. The last 2 times I went there, there was a party...everyone was loud, yelling, laughing, drinking champagne...while the rest of us were just trying to relax and get our nails done. It doesn't mean I will never go there again, but I wish they'd put curtains between the chairs or fabric on the walls or something to just help the acoustics in there....

If you want to find a place where you can become a regular, feel completely safe & comfortable getting your services, and not get kicked off your chair - Bellacures should become your personal nail spot!

  • Pros: The staff did everything they could to accomodate me! I was running a little late that day :)

Best affordable pedicure

by Maria12345678 at Citysearch

I too have been going to Bellacures since they opened. To the person who gave it a "one star" for it's prices, I'm shocked. A regular pedicure is $25 and a manicure is $20. A manicure with a pedicure is only $18. Yes, you can add on treatments and massage ($1/minute) or even go for one of their specialty pedicures which do run on the higher end, but for me, a basic pedi with a 10 min massage is the way to go! And if you sign up for their e-mail newsletter, they regularly send discounts and coupons that you can use on your next visit. They are super clean, use only sterilyzed equipment, one use foot tubs and you sit in oversize easy chairs. Parking has never been a problem and as long as I call before I come (even if I'm on the way), I've never had to wait more than 5-10 minutes. I've gone to many other places around town, but since Bellacures opened, it's been the only place I'll go. Those other places that claim to be clean just can't even compare to the quality and atmosphere of this place! Check it out and then decide. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

  • Pros: great staff, excellent services, sterilyzed environment, good prices.
  • Cons: wish it was closer to me!

Unparalleled facility, equipment and staff

by pepecarlo at Citysearch

I have been a client of Bellacures since they first opened. Bellacures is one of the best places in L.A. to get a manicure and pedicure. This is a place for those who seek a very clean, high-end, relaxed environment with professional technicians and friendly staff. There are plenty of services to choose from. There are no hidden charges. Everything is spelled out in the "menu" and if you are not sure if something you would like is extra, just ask. The ingredients they use are all natural and their equipment sterilized. For those who want the 10 minutes $7-10 manicure that leaves hangnails and bleeding cuticles, this is not the place for you. If you want those jet spa chairs whose tubs are never sterilized or washed appropriately, you will not like Bellacures. If you are on a budget, this isn't the place for you either. There are plenty of budget nails shops around town that also do acrylic nails that btw do severely damage your natural nails. Maintaining a place such as Bellacures and running a respectable business in Beverly Hills costs money. You get what you pay for in life. And you can't get much for $10 these days.

  • Pros: Relaxed atmosphere, clean facility, sterilized equipment, competent staff, wide array of services
  • Cons: None

EXPENSIVE BUT SANITARY

by foody555 at Citysearch

Clean, but SO PRICEY! long wait time. extra charges everywhere (beware). friendly staff. The most expen$ive manicure around!! They need more nail techs who know how to do acrylic nails.. they only have 2, and you have to hope one is working that day. AGAIN, CLEAN facility, but WAY TOO OVERPRICED!

  • Pros: clean
  • Cons: pricey

Excellence

by Love222 at Citysearch

I have been going here since the beginning of this year and I am sad I did not spot it earlier. Bellacures is so clean, they have disposable bags for each person, they do an excellent job on my mani and pedi and have so many fun and different kinds of services that I could choose from... I love choosing a new pedi everytime I go there. I have read some of the reviews on this site and sometimes some of the girls do upsell, but if I don't want it I just say no... other than that, I think that their service is the best I have found in LA and wouldn't go anywhere else after Bellacures.

  • Pros: Comfy, great manicurists, cool services, clean clean clean, really nice
  • Cons: sometimes parking

BELLACURES, SHAME ON YOU!!!

by RustyCarly at Citysearch

Bellacures is an interesting nail salon. As far as cleanliness goes, it appears to be very clean. I liked that they sterilize their instruments. I was excited to switch from my current salon because of that fact. I go every other week religiously and I am a very easy customer, I keep my mouth shut and never complain about anything. I liked Traci who did a good job with my acrylics and I also liked Sharon who did my pedicures. Both seemed very professional and easy to be with.

What I did not like was the fact that I felt as if I was nickled and dimed every chance they got. They advertise their price lists on a card at the desk and on it it says that an acrylic fill is $28 and a simple pedicure is $25. This is fine with me, a little more than what I usually paid in the past but not out of line.

This week when I got my bill it said $59, a $6 amount over the advertised price and I asked why. The reason they said was because I asked Traci to re-shape my nails from an oval to a more square look and that they said was another $5 to shape them. Another $1 was charged because I added Traci and Sharon's tips to my credit card and it was an added fee to cover the added tip on my Visa (which I don't believe is even allowable by the credit card company). One never pays an additional fee in a restaurant when a tip is added to the bill.

The irony was that Traci never bothered to file down the thickness in my acrylics and I didn't like the way they looked, I asked if she could fix them and she said we would do that the next time I came in, this after I paid additional money to do just that.

Needless to say, I will not be going back to this salon unless they can treat their customers with a little more respect. I paid over $100 to this salon this week alone for myself and my daughter and there are too many places in our area to go where customers are treated better.

BELLACURES, SHAME ON YOU !!!!!!!!!

My Favorite Nail Salon!!!

by SmittyKitty at Citysearch

This is one of the best nail salon experiences I have ever had. It is very hard these days to find a nail salon that is pleasant and clean. Bellacures is really like a salon experience. For the fist time it felt like I wasn't running an errand to get my nails done. They were very professional, clean (they would unwrap each nail tool from plastic and use plastic on all the tubs) had great products, seats were very comfy, the staff wasn't screaming vietnamesein my ear (god I HATE that). It may be a little pricier than other nail salons but its definately worth it. They always have these creative monthly specials..I just did the Detox pedicure and it was amazing!! It lasted much longer than any pedicure I've had. The only downfall is that its probably difficult to walk-in cause they are so booked, so I need to schedule my appointments in advance.

  • Pros: clean, relaxing, superior service and products, ambience, parking
  • Cons: hard to get walk in
