Warning: don't park here.
by CSMobileUser
Valets in LA are usually kinds rough on cars, but these guys scraped up the passenger-side pretty badly, and then refused to pay for it. They had me fill out a bunch of forms, but it ended up being just for show. Not the first time these guys have damaged cars, either. Bar is ok, but not worth it in the end. IF YOU DON'T WANT YOUR CAR DAMAGED, DON'T PARK HERE.
Will not return

We thought we would give it a go and stop in for beautiful scene, drinks and apps last night . The view steals the show and the music was pleasant. The loungs WAS NOT busy and after waiting nearly 15 minutes for service we finally ordered drinks and apps from the bar and had it delivered to our table. Our server disappeared, never to be seen again, so our desire for more drinks and apps went unsatisfied. Realizing that this lounge is more self service style wishing to be something more we chose to leave and spend our time and money elsewhere. What a shame to have such a wonderful location and view of the city and then waste it away on below par service and average food. We will most certainly not return or suggest this establishment as a place to visit.
- Pros: Fabulous view
- Cons: Customer Service, Food is Average at Best
Worse customer service I've ever experienced!
by Vaxelino
I took my girlfriend there for Valentine's and had the worst experience. First the hostess was rude when she didn't bother to greet, then she took us the a table where our table is squeezed between four other tables, we had to whisper so the couples next to us wouldn't hear us. Then we had the waiter approach us in about 10 minutes after we've sat down, after he brought our bread and butter, we had to wait an additional 15 minutes for the waiter to arrive again and take our dinner order when he was just standing around and checking out everyone, wtf? Then we had a different waiter to serve us but he was acting like a total dueshe if you know what i mean. So me and my gf got really angered and left the restaurant and complained to the manager about how its a simple formula for any business to succeed is customer service and how his restaurant employees are just a bunch of inconsiderate a-holes. Ive never walked out of a restaurant in my life so you can imagine how awful it was especially on Valentine's day. Only good thing about the place is its design, but its not the worth the hassle you will get from their pathetic service.
- Pros: ambience
- Cons: service, service, service

i totally recommend this spot. on top of their incredible drink specials, they have a super friendly staff and to be at this place at sunset is just incredible. the views and colors that come through are the best for any setting. highly recommend this place as a date spot though.
Brentwood's former Holiday Inn penthouse restaurant is transformed into a glamorous, romantic spot.

In Short
No, that's not the Capitol Records building you're looking at. Situated at the penthouse level of the Hotel Angeleno--that spiraling column of a building overlooking the 405 freeway--this darkly hued room is a genuine getaway in the city. So what if the lights are so low that you can barely read the menu? All you'll really want to see are the panoramic views from the floor-to-ceiling glass walls. (Those with vertigo, take heed: Better to opt for one of the cozy banquettes or tables along the interior walls than one of the window-grazing tables.) Unlike its previous incarnation as a steakhouse, executive chef Marc Boussarie has brought in fresh flavors from the Mediterranean with a New American twist. Starters like the wilted frisee salad with poached egg, pancetta and fingerling potatoes are flavorful and satisfying, while main courses like seared dayboat scallops served alongside violet cauliflower and black trumpets are creative hits. But don't worry meatheads--the steaks are still stellar.
The best "I want to impress you" date restaurant
by Shopnmoka
Its hard to put into words how much I enjoy eating at West. The food and service is spectacular, the maitre de even manages to memorize your name. I highly recommend the fondue; it comes with both caramel and chocolate pots to dip the best selection of fruits, toasted marshmallows and brownies. Delicious!
Great Westside Spot!

To be fair, I went to West on a Monday...and I went EARLY. Like 4:30 PM early. That said, my date and I sat at the window and enjoyed the view. Service was friendly and just good. I love that they serve "gourmet" potato chips at the bar. We got the Tuna tartare appetizer, which was delicious. However, I usually like the tuna to be a bit more chopped up than it was. I was unaware until the bill came that it was happy hour. West does half price drinks from 4-7, which is awesome. The bloody Mary was spicy as hell and my date had a lychee's martini that she just couldn't stop raving about. West is definitely worth checking out.
- Pros: Good Happy hour, even better view
What's the big deal?

The view is their best asset, food is mediocre at best, service slow. What 's an Italian steakhouse?
Sophisticated Swanky Brentwood Spot
by trojanfoodie
Sophisticated, swanky spot with gorgeous views of Brentwood, modern furniture, great atmosphere... perfect for a date! Very "Hollywood" without the attitude... or commute! Small but decent wine list and good assortment of cockails. The food was just so-so. Was not impressed. Crowd was in the 30s-40s on a Thursday night.
Amazing. just AMAZING

I've had some great meals, The Ivy, Mastro's etc. I recently met my girlfriends for dinner at West at their suggestion and I can't wait to go back!
We started at the bar where the bartender was friendly and attentive. he chose a great Cabernet for me. We convened to the table where we had an excellet waitress who was able to give her opinion on several of the dishes. We ordered Antipasti to share. the Crostini, smoked mozzarella and something I didn't try. We had the Lobster Bisque as an appetizer and I am literally still dreaming about it. Buttery and incredible. Really an amazing soup and the lobster was perfection (no rubbery-ness here!!). Dinner was the Flatiron steak with a side of truffle mac n cheese. There are not words to describe that combo. The steak was easily as good as Mastro's (it might be blasphemous to say it was better!). It cut like butter. Even though I was full, I had to finish the truffle mac n cheese and can't wait to get back for more. My girlfriends and I split the desert of chocolate lava cake because we just had to "try" the desert. Our server was an absolute doll and extremely attentive and helpful.
I should point out that I am not at all a "foodie" so the fact that I'm reviewing West at all is a testament to its perfection. this is easily my new favorite restaurant and my husband is now dying to have dinner there simply because I can't shut up about the place. You must try it. The view, the food, the staff. It's fantastic....
- Pros: Food, drinks, service, view, ambiance, prices
- Cons: I really can't think of one
