AMAZING

by DrinkingupNYC at Citysearch

I came out to LA to visit some family and i wanted to treat them to some special spa services while i was out there. We all got hour massages and my sister also got a facial treatment. Everything from start to finish was very nice and classy. The spa itself is lovely and huge and everyone there was really great. My massage was fantastic and i felt so good and relaxed. Everyone was so pleased with all of their treatments. My sister said that her facial was terrific and exactly what she wanted. it was pretty expensive, but i think that it was worth the money to get such good treatments. And it was right in the W hotel so it was super convenient for us to get to and get out of. All in all it was a great day and i would highly recommend Bliss Spa in LA and NYC!

Pretty Horrible

by AbigailLucy at Citysearch

$80 for a mani/pedi that was about as sub-par as you can get.

I was greeted by a technician who was clearly having a bad day. I had heard great things about this place, and was sadly disappointed. Staff were more concerned with chatting amongst themselves than taking care of me. The mani/pedi itself lasted about 2 days. Was not "blissed-out" at all. For $80, check yourselves into the Four Seasons if you want to feel really taken care of.

  • Pros: Clean bright place
  • Cons: Rude staff. Bad service

The W Hotel--Westwood is home to L.A.'s version of this New York-born spa/boutique/retail sensation.

by Cadien Clark at Citysearch

In Short
The second floor of this hopping Westside hotel boasts 7,000 square feet of spa for Angelenos anxious for triple oxygen treatments, carrot and sesame body buffs and ginger rubs using the same products found in the super-popular magazine and website. There are 10 treatment rooms, a boutique, three movie-while-you-manicure nail stations with personal flat-screen TVs and a brownie buffet. Men's facilities include digital lockers, grass-tiled steam showers, heated shaving cream and beer.

Loved It

by llknyc at Citysearch

Had oxygen facial here and it was a great experience. The parking is annoying but the facial was such a treat. I loved that the spa wasn't crowded like a zoo (like the nyc soho branch) and the staff was pleasant and professional. I would probably do the basic facial instead of the oxygen but i loved my aesthetician and the facility was clean and well stocked.

overoveroverpriced

by bananasareformonkeys at Citysearch

i had my first and probably last bliss massage this past sunday. i have to admit that i probably haven't been to a spa that fancy before, but come on what can possibly make a massage worth 250bucks??? the cucumber, water and cookies? come to my house, i'll give you some. they cost 10cents... my massage was good but i definitely wouldn't ever spend that much money on it. i actually had a gift certificate for my massage that's why ended up going at all. my massage therapist was excellent, my only problem was with the girl who threw me into the changing room...not really telling me what to expect as a first timer. yeah, go get changed and then fill out the form and then they will pick you up.

  • Pros: very nice and great massage therapists
  • Cons: it's not worth your money

A Worthy Spa Splurge

by francepesa at Citysearch

I've been twice early on a Saturday morning for the Blissage 75 and it's been well worth it each time (even with the $25 raise in price). The staff is more than competent; my masseuse worked in some deep tissue techniques last time to ensure I got something out of the massage (I denied adding on in the beginning, not knowing my back was that bad, and tipped gratefully!) The white ambience is relaxing, brownie bar with cheese and crackers great, and rainfall head showers are nice. All in all, you pay for quality and that's what you get!

  • Pros: Quality Massage, Highly Competent Staff, Relaxing Atmosphere
  • Cons: Parking

best massage experience

by crev312 at Citysearch

just got back from bliss los angeles for a blissage75; had a gift certificate from my bday. LOVED everything - not only was the service itself great (awesome massage, paraffin for your feet, cucumber eye mask, heated blanket, etc), the rest of the facility was like I've never seen before at a spa. Very cute decor, women's lounge was so relaxing, sauna and steam showers, and brownies? YUM. Thought I wouldn't be one to spend $ for spa services but I booked myself for another blissage in a month! Hopefully I'll get to try all their other services too - their manicure/pedicure station looks amazing with your own flat screen tv and headphones. Definitely would suggest bliss to everyone.

Clarity

by kjs4600 at Citysearch

I would actually like to clarify a negative review about this spa. About the parking...that is the W's thing, they are the ones charging for parking. Bliss has been fighting to get this changed and they have. Parking is now valet at $5 for 3 hours. About the waxing...a basic bikini will remove hair outside of a modest bikini. Most people are looking for a betweeny which goes further and removes more hair creating a thinner hair line. It wasn't a bait and switch. Bliss charges more for their waxing because they use a hard wax which is more expensive, they use a skin cleanser, pre-waxing oil, post waxing calming balm and they don't double dip which means they use one spatula every time they apply wax and then discard it so because they use much more product than other places, this is why it's a bit more expensive. A basic bikini is booked out for 15 mins so if you are 12mins late for a 15min appointment, well, you can do the math. It's not that they don't want to accommodate you but if that aesthetician had an appointment immediately after, she couldn't possibly wax you in 3mins and still be on time for her next client who wasn't late for their appointment. If your appointment is a 12:00, be there at 11:45. Therapists at spas are on a set time frame for all services, some appts are only 15mins long so be on time. If one person is late, it completely snowballs the entire day. Therapists are on a tight schedule and have no room to make up time lost by a late client. Give them a break.
