Can't stand the owner always chasing tail

by Fabiola

I used to frequent this place a lot with my girlfriends but after a while it became a bit too much. The owner of this place makes this place undesirable, isn’t that pathetic? He is always drunk bragging about what he has or not and is always trying to pick me and my girlfriends up offering us drinks that we don’t want; we can pay for our own, thank you! He tried to kiss my girlfriend, unbelievable! We had to leave.

One day I saw the chef getting into a fight right outside the restaurant with the bartender, talk about drama in that place. I can’t wait for this place to change owners so I can start going again. I live right around the block and it’s sad I can’t have a place to hang in my own neighborhood. The food is great for a bar and the selection of beers is great.

  • Pros: Great pizza, lots of beer selction
  • Cons: Girls, be aware of owner

Drinks good, service not good

by shawnking33

I come here at least twice a month and the service needs improvement. I just don't get a friendly vibe. We always order lots of rounds, tip well but service is always sub par. Other than that this place is a cool spot.

  • Pros: drinks and food
  • Cons: service

Best Gastropub / Beer Babes / Worst Manager Ever - She Should Be Arrested!!!

by ahahn11211

I love third stop!!! Although I am a connoisseur of the barley and hops, I let the beer babes create a path of personal strategic intoxication based on their suggestions. Their pizza is outstanding and the ahi burger is phenomenal. I met the owner once and he was one of the nicest guys I've ever met!

However, their manager Camilla is a total bi#$ch!!! I visit third stop about twice a week and tried to plan my birthday party there. Although my friends are alcoholics and I'm a regular, Camilla would only reserve tables for me with a $35 per person minimum. Considering their beer is beyond reasonable at $6 a glass, each of my friends has to drink 96 ounces of high potency beer! WTF!!! This is not only BS, this is irresponsible!!!

  • Pros: Beer and Babes
  • Cons: Manager and Manager and Manager

I just heard they have a "B" letter grade.

by catlady69

I was a big fan of the 3rd stop when their prices were a little cheaper and they had some really great people working there. Their current Happy Hour starts at 5 p.m. and a few selected beers are $4 + tax/tip.

The food on Happy Hour, especially the mini sliders and pizzas are delicious for $7 each.

They do have great beers on tap but the beer prices and food prices have went up and it isn't always fun there.

  • Pros: unique beers on tap, cold pint glasses
  • Cons: expensive, big green "B" letter grade doesn't cut it

Excellent sevice and great food!!!

by geturth

My friend lives in the neighbor and remembers coming here a while back when it was more of a bar/pub type place. After looking @ the menu he noticed that the menu had changed considerably. Nice selection on the menu but we had no idea what was good and we were TOO hungry to take a big risk.

We hailed down Diedra, the waitress, and she saved the day. She recommended the lamb shank and the kobe burger for my friend. WOW.. the food was fantastic!! We also had the beef skewer as an appetizer.. hmm tender, flavorful.. it was delicious! Would definitely recommend this place. The service was key for us. Diedra was friendly, knowledgeable and funny!! We loved her.

If you are in the neighbor, I would highly recommend this place. Oh ya, the Nutella pizza with berries for desert.. DELICIOUS!!! This gets five stars for service and food!!

  • Pros: Service, food
  • Cons: non that was under the establishment's control. A very loud and obnoxious woman sat in the table next to us. Like I said, nothing the establishment had any control over.

Go for the beer

by amaes

We've been coming here regularly for the past year. Chill ambiance. crowd can be a little yuppyish. Beer selection is the best and reasonably priced considering the area. food is good but inconsistent. wait staff can be flaky but friendly for the most part. Doorman is smug but the Manager rocks.

  • Pros: Beer selection
  • Cons: inconsistent food and service

Neighborhood Beer pub!

by BevHillsLuna

As the last poster noted, things are pretty much back to normal. The beer selection is great. They have table service restored. The food is darn good for "bar food". Personally I don't think the wine selection is "all that", but what they have is certainly drinkable, and....you don't come here for wine. It's a BEER BAR! As for the complaints about the prices.....uh you are still talking about a place straddling Beverly Hills and West Hollywood.....

  • Pros: Beer and food
  • Cons: can get really crowded

It seems that things are almost back to normal.

by beerdrinker53

So, I've begun frequenting this place again after what seems to have been a lengthy spat with the LA ABC. All of the bar stools are back, as are a few HOT new bartender/waitresses. And low and behold, a fresh new menu! The pizzas are still there, but now they have(GASP)specials, too. So far I've had the spicy tuna sandwich on a ciabatta roll, and the perfectly portioned lasagna(I think it actually fresh, and not Stouffer's). But they also have some traditional apps, like mozzarella sticks, and nachos. There's also a RIDICULOUS wine selection that compliments the massive beer list. The girl I was with loved that pink wine(it's a chilled one, don't ask me the name). The music has gotten better too. There's a nice mix of alternative rock, and sometimes bearable pop music. I did hear the old "hair metal" mix, last week, but hey, it was nostalgic. It gets busy as hell from time to time like it used to, and sometimes there's a wait, but the guys at the door aren't jerks. Someone told me that they are brothers(yeah, right). I came in with 4 friends 2 weeks ago, and we waited about 15-20 minutes, but the guy who's been there awhile really seemed to try and get us in there as fast as he could, giving us updates every 2 minutes. But hey, who doesn't have to wait to get into a cool place from time to time? So what, you can't sit/stand anywhere you damn well please. Whenever it was busy before, you just had to make do anyway. Will it ever be like it was? Probably not. Am I glad it's pretty close, with some adjustments? You bet your a** I am!

  • Pros: Beer/wine selection, hard working staff, tasty new menu!
  • Cons: Sometimes a wait for large groups.

Rules and ABC's

by chadworth

Commenting on the last post, I have a feeling that the post was made by the same Moron yelling at the cops to say the least!!!!!!

Complying with the ABC was one thing, changing the entire organization, another.

How ABC thinks about an establishment run by a drunk, with the rationality of a 5th grader? That?s the real question.

I guess survival mode and desperation will lead to self posting.....pitiful.

Reasons for Changes

by shammymac123456

In response to the prior post, from what I understand, the changes are the result of discipline by the ABC. Not sure what happened, although it wouldn't surprise me if it were related to someone from management yelling at a cop, but it's a temporary problem and the owners are working on fixing it. Keep supporting the bar and hopefully the ABC will lift these dumb restrictions.

  • Pros: Terrific Selection of Beer, Good Wine Selection, Food is Good
  • Cons: Current ABC restrictions on standing, which make it more like a restaurant
