Lots of Fun

This place was lots of fun!!! The parking is pretty bad and we spent about 20 minutes looking for parking until we decided Valet would be less of a headache. The drinks were great and the crowd really relaxed and fun. This club is perfect for that 23-28 age bracket. The music was awesome, my bridal party went for fun and drinks the night before the wedding and we had a blast. They conveniently played some throw-back music from the 80's and 90's intertwined with more current hits. I will defintetly go back!

WORST CLUB EVERRRR!!!!!

DO NOT GO THERE YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!! AND DO NOT TRY THROWING AN EVENT THERE! I NEVER HATED A PLACE AS MUCH AS THIS.

Stay away from Shag or you could get taken for everything you got.

We didn't stay there for a half hour. The bar is way too slow, and people are rude as heck. We waited FOREVER to get our car back from the valet, and when we got back into the car we could tell that the valet or someone had gone through all of our stuff.

The next day we cleaned the interior completely and lo and behold, what did we find? A GPS tracking device lodged under the seat. This place is as shady as they come. We called the police, but we aren't holding our breath on that one. Stay away from Shag or you could get taken for everything you got.

• Pros: You can tell right away to get the heck out.
• Cons: Filled with thieves.

Crooks and Sleaze. Watch your credit card account for unauthorized charges!!!

If I could give this place 0 stars, that is what I would give it. My first night out in LA was unfortunately spent at this classless joint. It smelled strongly of weeed and was filled with the sleaziest men in the city. $20 cover charge. $20 to park (Unless they tell you "You ain't ugly" and knock off $5 for the parking. Talk about trashy places!)

I could have lived with all that but the part that really ANGERS me is that they charged money on my credit card that I did not authorize. I paid $33 for drinks on my card and left the tip in cash. The next day I discovered they had charged an extra 20% on my card WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I called them repeatedly. Most of their numbers listed online are conveniently disconnected. If you are lucky to reach any working phone number they list it goes to voice mail and they don't return your calls. I had to call my bank to get this settled. Shag has absolutely no class and if you read through some of the other reviews you will see just how awful a bunch of crooks they are. Watch your wallet if you go there...and watch your bank account!

I will definitely recommend anyone I meet that mentions this place NOT TO GO!!

Cozy venue

pretty small venue. Might have changed if they remodeled. I dont mind since i'm a smoker but interestingly there's just invisible lines between the smoking area and non smoking areas. Somehow it works. The white smoking area was well decorated. It looks clean, candlelit and has a water/liquid type light they project onto the wall. The main bar area is adjacent to the dancefloor and when it gets packed, walking through the crowd becomes a journey. There was a time that i waited what about 20 minutes not even to get a drink but just to get the bartender's attention even though i was at the front.

Avoid at all costs

LIARS!!!!! I was invited by my friend to a "fashion Show" he was in at shag. HA! First I got there and there isn't street parking for miles so I had to pay $20 to park. Second I was told that I was on "the List" and I wouldn't have to pay cover. Well, I was on the list (they didn't even check) but I still had to pay $20 at the door to get in. Third the show was supposed to go on at 11pm and for some reason it was pushed to 12pm (they wanted people to stay longer to spend more so they lied). Fourth the drinks where ridiculously over priced for that part of town $11 for a Jack and coke and $6 for a bud light bottle. And lastly the rap artist they hired sprayed everyone with water! I DID NOT PAY $20 TO PARK, $20 TO GET IN, AND $11 A DRINK TO GET SPRAYED WITH F@CKING WATER!! Now don't think that I'm just some brat, I love to go to clubs and love to party, and have never been compelled to wright one of these reviews before, but I will never go to shag again.

Fun Place

I liked this club. From the outside, it didn't look like much. It's on Cahuenga so the streets are pretty dirty. But once you walk inside the club it changed. There is a nice little cover patio/ seating area to your right which was a good place for us to hang out. The dance floor is a nice size until about 12:30- 1am when it gets crowded like crazy. The bartenders are good and friendly. Some of the guys dress really nice, some others need to realize thst jeans with writing on the back is not for 21 and older clubs. In general most of the females dressed the part. it was nice. I'll do it again.

• Cons: Valet is slow, long wait outside

Awesome place.. Good times

If you dress your part and dont show up at the door with 6 guys, you'll be in the club in 20 minz.. Drink were great, bartenders were awesome... they appreciated the tips and every time you approached the bar you were noticed right away.. Great lookin girls, good atmosphere.. awesome idea of the canopy attached to the dance floor and the bar for smokers with SEATING... Love this place highly recomended.

• Pros: Indoor smoking patio.. Gorgous, girls, awesome service from the bartenders
• Cons: Valet guys are slow and I wouldn't leave anything valuable in the car.

DO NOT VALET YOUR CAR

We valeted on saturday night and I left my purse in the car. One of the valet attendants took my bank account information from my purse and wiped out nearly $2000 from my bank account. I have a serious problem with this place. Outside was dirty, there were bottles all over the ground, door girl was rude as hell...dont go near this place!!!
