WHERE'D BRUNETTE HOSTESS GO?!
by davemed
USED TO BE A GREAT PLACE TO EAT AND WATCH THE FRENCH HOSTESS WALKING AROUND GREETING AND SEATING PEOPLE. SHE MADE THE FOOD TASTE EVEN BETTER.
- Pros: BRUNETTE HOSTESS
- Cons: WHERE'D SHE GO?
FRIENDLY ENVIRONMENT

i just moved to los angeles in september, and i've seen Tart on The Hills, and have heard people talking about it, so I decided to give it a try for lunch with my boyfriend. The food was good. However, for the type of food they have (salads, sandwiches, etc.) its a tad bit overpriced. I expected much more since its apart of Farmer's Daughter, but its a cool place to go if you're in the area i guess. I could've easily went to get something to eat across at the Grove and been more satisfied.
great food

cute little cafe to grab some great food with friends. They also have a great little outdoor patio for seating. The food and drinks are great!

Breakfast Good -- But took two hours!
by LongtimeinLA
Had a breakfast meeting there and although pleasant, took forever! There were four of us and our waitress couldn't be bothered nor apologetic for the poor service. Wouldn't meet there again. There are much better places for b'fast in LA
- Pros: Tasty
- Cons: Poor service
Tart- the taste in my mouth after my drink.
by jaxj
The drinks are overpriced and below average-- I'm not so picky about overpriced alcoholic drinks but their coffee was terrible. I think I could make myself a better cup with freeze dried coffee crystals.
I also ordered an appetizer of fries which had 3 different kinds (regular, sweet potato and purple) and came with ketchup, romalade sauce, and some sort of mayo/tartar sauce. The taste was average, and nothing really spectacular for $8.
I was generally appalled at the prices ($20 chicken wings?!) and lack of culinary excitement in the food that was brought out. The service was poor considering it was a Tuesday night and the had less than 4 tables occupied, 1 inside and 3 outside (only having 2 people or less seated). Granted there was only 1 server but I asked for sugar at least 2x and finally just went inside to get it myself.
Tart appeared as a hip trendy hangout from the outside when I passed it and love was definitely put into the ambiance and overall appearance of the place, but I was terribly disappointed at my experience. If you want to sit somewhere cool looking then I would recommend this place but if you actually want to eat something then go somewhere else. :|
- Pros: Cool looking, trendy
- Cons: REALLY EXPENSIVE, food is average, drinks below average
Just average

I don't get why this place is getting so much love. Service was pleasant enough but the food that my group had on several occasions was only so-so. This place is attached to a glorified hipster motel (The Farmer's Daughter) and it defintely feels like they are taking advantage of the built in business. Average food with no real flare and pricey to boot. I don't see myself giving it another chance.
Delicious Flavorful Breakfast, Great Service, Cool A/C
by Paris33
We had a really great breakfast here the other day- I ordered the Daisy Special and my boyfriend got the Mexican Skillet Omelete. Both were cooked to perfection and very nicely seasoned. The biscuits are light and fluffy- similar to the one's we'd tasted at the Flying Biscuit in Atlanta. The Iced Coffee was a bit watered down, I wouldn't recommend it but other than that everything on the menu seemed good and the prices were very reasonable. Around $28 plus tip for two people.
Daisy Duke cute bartender who makes a mean mojito. (Best in LA!) Real food: satisfying, flavorful. Order the special! Friendly service. Welcoming atmosphere. Nice patio:great for parties.

Daisy Duke cute bartender makes a mean mojito. (Best in LA!) Real food (fried chicken, greens, banana cream pie) that is satisfying, flavorful with generous proportions. Home cooking with sass. Tip: Order the special! Friendly, attentive, very professional service from the bartender to the waiter. The well-mannered staff is cheerful and makes everyone feel genuinely welcome. Inviting patio: nice for parties. (It would be great to have some Brazilian music, or maybe Preservation Hall type jazz or Irish group on Friday night with space for dancing.) At Tart, you can talk with your date and actually hear what she is saying.
