Wicked Awesome!

Ok, so I decided to take an improv class to help my on-camera skills. I was terrified of it especially because I can?t act if it saved my life. So, I took a friends recommendation to go to the Actors Improv and decided to go for it.
David, the instructor, made me feel VERY at ease and in some seamless way helped me get over my stage fright. Not to mentioned that he?s a great ?improv-er? himself. The groups are always really cool and the people for the most part tend to be really fun to work with. The exercises are fun, but challenging at the same time. I have improved A LOT since I started.
Another great thing about the class is that you actually get to perform on a stage at the end of every month before your family and friends.
I highly recommend this class to anyone? regardless of your skill level.
A deeper sense of improv.

I heard the saying recently that a good leader is someone that creates an environment that helps everyone succeed and feel good about themselves. That is exactly the environment David Magidoff creates which has lead me to be a much better improviser.
Great Improv

I worked with David a year and I really enjoyed the class and learned a lot ! He works out of the book "Improvise".
You learn a lot of games and technique in his class. At the larger schools you have go thru multiple levels to get out on stage. He trains you encourages you to get up when u are ready and have learned the basics. About 4-6 months for me ..
The shows are great ! For cost you cant beat it!
More performance time than I've had anywhere else

I would easily recommend The Actor's Improv without hesitation. First of all, the class sizes are small, so there's always plenty of "on stage" time and lots of individual attention. David is always happy to offer coaching sessions for upcoming auditions, and he even gives individual evaluations periodically to each student so they can gauge their progress. Once every four weeks, he sets up a mock audition and tapes it, so you can get so "on camera" time as well. There's even a public show every month! Plus, it's just lot's of fun! David's a really funny guy, and he always knows the perfect punchline to help your scene along. He's a great example of how to hone your improv skills and your performance presentation in general. The students are diverse, as are their professional goals and standings. And to top it all off, it's very affordable, so it's kind of a no-brainer when considering trying it out!

This is a great class for aspiring actors. David's teaching style puts students at ease while challenging them to stretch beyond their comfort zones. He promotes a positive learning environment where students support and encourage one another. David gives clear, direct and individualized critiques to his students. The on-camera work and monthly stage performances provide students with an opportunity to synthesize studio exercises and develop skills for practical application. David is organized, professional and fun. He is also a gifted teacher, talented improviser and great person. If you've ever been curious about improv, this is the place to start!
- Pros: Instructor, Class Size, Location
- Cons: None
The Actor's Improv and its effects
by christidwell at Citysearch
When I began acting, the first thing I did was look for a place to train. David Magidoff, who teaches at the Actor's Improv, would be the person who would first teach me about acting. I had been reading books and reading websites. But the real teaching came in the actual experience. Improv was my first genuine experience with actor's training. David has opened my eyes to so many things that will propel me forward in my career. Not only does he offer an environment that is positive, energetic, dynamic, hands-on and inspiring, it is an environment that compels me to continue forward in my journey as an actor. If for any reason, it is because in David's teaching, you can tell that you are genuinely cared for, yet honestly challenged, not only as an actor, but as a person as well.
David is the real deat!

David is a skilled performer and a great teacher. He has a way of being direct and encouraging. I've paid for the more expensive improv training at a well known theater and I can say you'll learn the same things and more with David at a fraction of the cost. I would highly recommend this class to anyone regardless of experience.
- Pros: A great, friendly, encouraging instructor, real world experience, and tons of fun!
- Cons: none.

I've just started to take this Dave's improv class. Between advance to beginners, you can learn a lot of things from this class.People are warm and supportive and Dave is so funny. My first class was a on-camera class which we taped ourself and for the auditions.I booked a national commercial after I took very my first class. This explain enough, isn't this?
Great Place for Actors!!

I've been taking David's class for a while, and still I am learning something new all the time.
He has a very large stock of knowledge about improv and he is very determined.
Everybody in class is very supportive as well.
What I like the most is that we have a taping day every 4 weeks and he puts us on camera. it's great for actors to watch how to apply what you learned to the real auditions.
