I went to check out Cuba Libre, but as of 2 weeks it is now Agave, a place that still needs to work out many kinks. The service was extremely slow.

Funky vibe. Funky food.

Being Los Feliz folk, we take pride in our restaurants that line Vermont. We've been to this place back when it was the retro Hollywood Hills restaurant.Then wet saw it was reincarnated as Tiger Lily, but it always looked empty-a bad sign in our eyes.How interesting that they split the place into TWO different restaurant!We've been over to Mes Amis. TRES BIEN! Definitely a step above the OTHER cafe down the street.

Anyways, we decided one evening to get our Mojitos on and try Cuba Libre as we love latin cuisine too! We REALLY wanted to love it, but it fell short unfortunately. The place was NOT packed, but the poor overwhelmed young lady at the host stand said it would be a 20minute wait. I used the restroom and looked at the floor plan of the place indoors. A very large party was inside so they had to push many of the tiny tables together. So it's a few booths and tiny tables. The host DID offer us an even smaller table on the sidewalk butt up next to one where two women were chain smoking. So we waited, but did get seated sooner. Our waitress was a cute latin gal that really knew how to charm my husband while not making me dislike her-guess she charmed me too! First mojito-fabulous. 2nd one-all ice and mint. I know this because I took one sip out of my straw and all the liquid was gone!! Our appetizers were good, and I ordered the skirt steak-a Cuban specialty. The rice was ice cold and the steak was fatty. The topping was also very cold and since it's a raw sauce, all I could taste was the cold onions and garlic smothering the grilled steak. Thanks goodness the plantains were edible. Everyone BUT us on the patio got bread and my husband could not eat his rubbery shrimp.We had bad tummy aches.

I think this place has a funky vibe that would be great if you have a group of friends that want to sit on a patio in Los Feliz and drink cocktails and nibble on appetizers.I would have to pass on the idea of coming for dinner again though,

Great Sunday Evening Happy Hour

So my friends and I had just read about this place in the LA Times a few days ago, and we were interested in trying it out. We weren't disappointed. Great vibe and decor, attentive service, and fantastic Sunday Evening Happy Hour pricing made this a great choice for a relaxed evening, and the mojitos weren't too bad either.

Re: Service. One of the waiters happened to have a slight accident with a drink out on the patio while we were outside, and he very quickly went to each individual table in order to made sure everybody knew that the patio was wet. Before we knew, it was all mopped up. Great handling of the situation, I'd say.

Nice find!

We were there on one Thursday night for a night club they have. Nice crowd, nice music but a bit of lousy bunch in the crowd, probably like this guy below me!

2 glasses of cognac for 68 bucks??? THAT'S REDICULOUS, WHY DID YOU PAY FOR 2 IF YOU ARE GONNA COMPLAIN ABOUT IT???? You know this guy's sooooooo lying! Tiger Lily doesn't serve food anymore, so you know this guy is lying and talking out of his rear! That means that 1 shot was 34 bucks and I dont think they sold cognacs like that. Maybe Macallen 18, but this guy doestn know what hes drinking anyway. He probably got hennessey vs and think its the best.

It's better that this beautiful place doesn't invite these nasty guys anyway. It will leave more pleasant room and space for people like us that truly enjoy and appreciate the place. The service there is always excellent and all the bartenders and the barbacks are absolutely charming!

• Pros: Ambiamnce, Service, Drinks ask the bartenders they will make it stronger!
• Cons: that the place can't pick and choose who comes in there right?

We have made some dramatic changes to our restaurant...a new more relaxed decor and added some Latin heat with Cuban Cuisine, live Bosa Nova music, happy hour at 5:00pm daily with $5.00 Mojitos and a Happy Hour Menu. Horrible, Terrible, Expensive, Not Good, Bad Food, Ripoff, bad service

terrible service, bad food, lousy drinks, do not go there at all.

I was there with 6 of my friends, we all had bad experiences, for 2 glasses of cognac they charged us 68 dollars and it was a very very small shot, bad service, they over charge you there avoid guys and girls, big ripoff

WHY is this place still open???

This place has the worst expensive food I have ever tried. I will never eat there again! A hair on my plate that wasn't mine. Enough said! I left early one night and one of the girls with me told me about how the owner was hitting on her and getting too close for comfort. Is this proper? Especially since she's only 24 years old? FYI, Don't get any of the burgers.... Horrible. Drinks, Too expensive and weak.

• Pros: The neighborhood. Try the vermont or palermos Italian instead of here. Trust Me!
• Cons: Food, Vibe, Too $$

Not a place i would reccommend!

So my boyfriend and I go out on monday night for a nice dinner out. Our luck we come to Tiger Lily! What were we thinking, food was less than below average. What? Do they pay less than $1.50 for a meal they charge us $30 on? I could've made this meal with my eyes closed and my hands tied! The drinks we ordered were horrible!!! AND they were expensive. My boyfriend and I don't like to complain but this place is dissapointing! To top it off a 2 inch brown insect ran passed the floor as we were leaving. I couldn't wait to leave this dirty place~!!

• Cons: Bad food. Bad Drinks. Bad Vibe.

Thank you for your comments although I must disagree, we have always maintained an "A" grade by the Los Angeles Health Dept.

I wonder if it was you and your boyfriend who we had to ask to leave due to inappropriate behavior?

Cheeeeeesy. I think they had like bad techno playing, which is actually nightmarish,

crowd, if you can call 10 people a crowd were well, so cheeeesy, waste of space

This place is to be avoided!

Food is dissapointing. Atmosphere . YUK! I tried posting this before but it seems it's getting erased. I met the owner (who I thought was a woman), then met a man who invited me to a drink and flirted with me all night who claimed to be the owner. Some blue eyed dark guy. I asked him if he was married and he said no! I just met his wife a couple hours earlier?! OR there's just some weirdos in here. Vibe was unreplenishing and if Its not dead it's cheezy. Did I mention overpriced and cheezy? This place is inappropriate!

DON'T GO TO TIGER LILY - NOT A GOOD PLACE TO GO

I also came to this restaurant expecting the owner to honor the 1/2 off happy hour. The owner refused to honor the happy hour, thought his own staff including a manager and wait persone confirmed the 1/2 off price. We, the guests, were put in the position of trying to get the promised price as well as not compromising the waitress. The owner was unreasonable and beligerant. When I said that his attitude wouldn't be good for his business, he said write whatever you want online. Okay, I will. I will never go back to this restaurant. There are hundreds of great restaurants in LA who honor any promotions they have endorsed - this is not one of them. The owner threw me out of his restaurant when I protested and was very rude. DON'T PATRONIZE THIS RESTAURANT. I felt sorry for the wait staff.

Perhaps your judgement was impaired by the quantity of alcohol you consumed. You and your friends were rude and out of control to the point of being asked to leave. There is a reason why restaurants post signage "refusing the right of service".
