Romantic, quiet, cozy with great food! by Corinne M. at InsiderPages

This is a great little find. The restaurant is small and cozy, and the decor is romantic. The food is delicious. This is a great date place. I probably wouldn't take the kids here.

Tasteless And Overrated

by nomikui at Citysearch

This is why Zagat (a 25 food rating) is not to be trusted 100%. We ordered the Cappelini al dente, what we got was an almost mushy overcooked pasta with a tasteless (almost no salt) Pomodoro sauce. The Linguine with Manila clams were a little better, but still almost tasteless. On the other side, the spinach with garlic was salty. One bite of pasta then one of the spinach and the contrast was short of disastrous. Very good Lamb chops. Average Bresaola and Salads. Tiramisu that really was like a caramel pound cake...not bad, but not really Tiramisu. Service: The manager-waiter (Spikey Hair) and the busboy...only two of them for 8~9 tables, and they were doing the work as smoothly, friendly, professionally as 5~6 average ones together...just amazing! (He didn't charge us for the Capellini-Thank you!).

Great food, service & atmosphere for a reasonable price!

by hollywoodhilz at Citysearch

If you like pasta dishes, this is the place for you. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to accomodate any alterations you'd prefer to make to a menu item (i.e., different sauce). When my wife and I left late Saturday night neither one of us could think of a single 'negative' about the experience. Even the parking is easy (street) by virtue of its location in sleepy little Toluca Lake. Try this place and you will not be disappointed!

  • Pros: food, service, atmosphere, parking
  • Cons: none I can think of

Great food and atmosphere

by lindarow at Citysearch

What an amazing place for dinner. We were visiting family in the area and they wanted to treat us to one of their favorite restaurants. We all love Italian food and we were very happy with the selections and the restaurant. Our hosts introduced us to Eric at our table and later when he came back to check on us he even remembered our names. They were short handed that night but we had no lack of service...and our meals were wonderful. On our next visit we will surely insist on dinner at this lovely restaurant again.

Amazing food

by swtnprtty at Citysearch

I celebrated my 25th birthday here last night and I have nothing but great memories. The food was excellent and the staff was awesome. I had a party of 20 people and not once did our waiter look annoyed. When I walked in and was met by Eric I felt so at ease and in great hands. He made sure we were all comfortable during our experiance. Even though they don't have a children's menu my son loved the pasta and wants me to take him again. This is a restaurant I will be suggesting to my friends and I will be coming to on a regular basis.

best kept secret!

by souwannaberockstar at Citysearch

I work for a company that owns and operates some of the best restaurants in La and Vegas so it takes quite a lot to chance a special occasion at an unknown restaurant. I did just that a year ago at Prosecco and it is now my go to place for a celebration. The reviews here are so random that I had to write. I have been there 4 times this year and every time I am so impressed with every detail. Eric always treats us like were VIP's. The tables are not squished together like some restaurants, especially in the back which is our favorite place. The waiters are always so nice to us and helpful. They never belittle us or rush us. It truely is a wonderful experience going to a restaurant where you know the food will be delicious, the service is A plus, and you leave feeling positive about the experience. Thank you for always treating us so good and more importantly for the wonderful tarragon pasta. You and your staff made our anniversary really wonderful. See you soon.

  • Pros: Food, Waiters, Eric, Location, Ambiance, Little Back Room
  • Cons: No website (that we could find)

Good Food, Pretty Restaurant, Average-Poor Service

by dolcevino at Citysearch

My husband and I went to Prosecco for dinner the other night. It was busy but not crowded and we were greeted politely by the Maitre 'd, who I suppose is Eric based on previous reviews. We were presented with the specials and the menu is well-rounded with some really good-sounding dishes. Our waiter, an actor-looking wannabe with spiked jet-black hair, came by after about 15 minutes to take our order. He seemed disinterested and rather unfriendly (I guess I'm used to waiters/waitresses who smile, introduce themselves, and have some personality to them). Our appetizers and entrees came and at no point did someone come over to ask us if we were enjoying our meals (which we did, by the way). Our drinks were empty, and it was up to me to get out of my seat to let someone know we needed more to drink. We waited awhile longer for our plates to be cleared, even more to be told about dessert, and then awhile more for the check. In summary, the ambiance is pretty, the food tasty, but the service is lacking. I am a very patient person, especially if a restaurant is packed or short-staffed, neither of which Prosecco was. Based on the lack of service, I wouldn't go back.

Simply Wonderful

by frequent_guest at Citysearch

As someone who eats @ Prosecco at least 50 times a year (no exaggeration) - I recommend Prosecco to anyone and everyone. I take most of my business lunches there; the food is excellent and you can have a conversation without having to shout. In the past few years I've taken over 150 different people to lunch there (again, no exaggeration) and NOT ONE hasn't enjoyed it... Most go back on there own. I make sure I introduce my guests by name to Eric and his staff, so they will enjoy the experience with or without me there in the future.

For a relaxing or romantic dinner, there is not a better spot in the Valley. Even when the place is packed, the quality of the meals remains remarkably consistant and always delicious (Try the Fetticini with Pork/Herb Meatballs or the Farfalla with Chicken!!!). At their busiest, Bryan, Eric, Wanda, & the rest of the staff are always friendly and provide a level of service that you don't experience in 95% of most other restaurants.

I do not generally post in open forums like this - but after reading Tragicgnat's postings I felt compelled to offer a different view.... Because it sounds so out of character for Eric and his staff. I simply cannot believe that ANYONE, let alone the owner of the restaurant - would leave you alone in a seat at the front for 4 minutes, let alone 40 (?!?!?) without offering to get you a drink or follow up with you on your guest(s).

I would encourage anyone, be they local or here visiting in Los Angeles - to try Prosecco for lunch or dinner. I believe that after just one visit, you will be as I was - "Hooked". ;o)

  • Pros: Excellent Food, wonderful ambience
  • Cons: Make a reservation in advance

Not the Classy Place it Pretends to Be

by lucillem at Citysearch

Eric, re-reading your comments to me below proves what I was saying very aptly. To quote: "WOW, that screen name, just says it all... I'm assessing you were having a bad day. Hence needing a target to take your aggressions out on, and I just happen to be the man, in your line of fire."

Well assess this: MY behavior was polite and friendly at all times; I was pleasant, smiling, softspoken - YOURS was not. Perhaps you feel that women using words you don't know how to spell equals "aggressions" in your book. I didn't NEED a target, I was MADE one by your bad manners. Your lack of a gentlemanly response underscores my point even further: despite the fancy atmosphere of your restaurant, you, sir, have no class.

Great atmosphere with pretty good food!

by shuateen at Citysearch

My boss has been going here for years and so when a group of co-workers and I wanted to go out to dinner, we decided to try this place out. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The atmosphere is great and I think this restaurant would be good for a date, casual dining with friends, or even a business meeting. Unfortunately, after we were seated and handed our menus, we were pretty much ignored. In fact, eventually someone from the table had to get up and ask for our server to attend to us. Now when we did have our server's attention, he was very pleasant and helpful with explaining the menu and making recommendations. It took awhile for our food to come out, and when it did, it was pretty good though I thought a little high in price for what we got. When it came time for the check, once again our waiter was nowhere to be found, so we had to flag down a bus boy to get our server for us. I'm willing to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt that they might have been short handed on the Thursday night that we went. I think the food was pretty good but I wouldn't recommend it as a first choice restaurant. I would've loved to have adored this restaurant and make it a regular for me, and I was disappointed that I didn't like it more.

  • Pros: Great atmosphere and in a great location
  • Cons: Service was slow...though when we did have a server he was very nice
