Great ambiance to get cupcakes
by CSMobileUser
great ambiace and product packaging. The cupcakes aren't as heavy as sprinkles. I wasn't too big a fan when I tried the red velvet, but all in all, its ok. Nothing can beat sprinkles, but susie cakes does have its unique appeal.
Best Cupcakes in Los Angeles
by TiffinyKaye
I used to work up the street from Susie Cakes, and I quickly became almost a daily regular to the store. $3 never seemed like much...but when you're buying EVERY DAY, it gets as bad as a Starbuck habit!
I think the taste of these cupcakes are phenomenal. I highly recommend the red velvet (the best they have), and their monthly flavors are always good too (favorites are the pumpkin and pineapple upside-down cakes).
$3 is a little much to ask for, as these cupcakes are not as large as what you'd get at either Sprinkles or Yummy Cupcakes...but they are BETTER TASTING by far.
Moving away from Los Angeles in about a month...Susie Cakes is one of the things I will miss most.
- Pros: Phenomenal taste, great atmosphere, variety
- Cons: Expensive for just little cakes, don't bake all day
BEST Red Velvet in Town!
by anosheh
the cakes are so moist it's incredible. the red velvet is my favorite. it's to die for!! the cupcakes aren't as good as the cakes, though. for sure better than sprinkles, without a doubt.
- Pros: Red Velvet Cake
- Cons: cupcakes aren't as moist as the cakes
Better than Sprinkles
by kutiesum
I have celebrated several occasions with Susie Cake Cupcakes and Cakes. I have to say they are the best in town and far better than Sprinkles. However it is a hard decision during birthdays to choose the cream filled cupcakes or the cakes, not to mention that the staff is very accommodating and helpful.
- Pros: Cupcakes and Cakes
- Cons: A little on the pricey side
If you're a New Englander don't go there for the whoopie pies....
by court1980
I've heard great things about Susie Cakes cupcakes which I have yet to try so don't use my review for their cupcakes. But if you're from New England and felt that a huge draw of theirs was the whoopie pies then don't bother. They make the outer pie/cookie part wwwaaayy too thick and dense and heavy, almost like a super thick chocolate cookie as opposed to a lighter fluffy cake. And the cream in the middle tastes too much like shortening. Do yourself a favor at the price they charge per whoopie pie($5) order some online from a New England business. You'll be glad you did.
- Pros: Super cute atmosphere
- Cons: whoopie pies are terrible
Great moist cupcakes
by tarametblog
Each cupcake ($3) was filled with frosting and ranged from Mint Chocolate, Mocha, Lemon, Marshmallow, Strawberry, Vanilla, Chocolate, Red Velvet and Peanut butter.
The Red Velvet was moist and the Strawberry cupcake, which tasted like strawberry shortcake was another favorite. I also liked their traditional vanilla cake with a blue butter cream frosting. These cakes aren't as dry Sprinkles and there is seating too
Best Red Velvet Cupcakes!

I LOVE susie cakes! All the people that work there are always very friendly and helpful and when I ordered a cake for a birthday, they called a few days later to ensure we liked it. Their red velvet cake is phenomenal and my guests absolutely loved it. I also had one of their pumpkin cupcakes which was amazing. It is a cute bakery too, I just wish they were open later so I could go by for dessert after dinner.
- Pros: cupcakes and bakery!
- Cons: they need to be open later

- Cons: i have gained 10 pounds!
Takes My Heart Away!
by bumblebee111
This experience was spectacular. The service was delightful. The deserts are amazing and moist. I prefer this over Sprinkles any day. I feel Sprinkles are way to gross and doughy like. At SusieCakes it was so amazingly good. You have to try it.
- Pros: Thumbs Up to the top!
Moist and Creamy cupcakes!
by sverige
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the cupcakes were at SusieCakes. I've never really cared for cupcakes and I don't like Sprinkles at all, but my boss treated me with some cupcakes from SC and I've been obsessed ever since! The cakes are so moist and the frosting is very creamy (and I love the surprise center filling!) My favorites are the red velvet, strawberry, and coconut. I haven't really tried any of the others because these ones are too tempting everytime I go in! I've also had the carrot cake and I highly recommend it! The cheesecakes were not my favorite, but the cakes are great!
- Pros: Cupcakes are delicious!
- Cons: Service could've been better and $
