From RAB: Dr. Borookhim has been my primary physician since January, 2007. From the start he has proven to be the "definitive clinician." His problem solving is critically analytical and timely. He is open to discussion and seeks and listens to patient input. As my medical team leader, his referrals have been excellent. Aside, his office is run in a professional and efficient manner.

My father-in-law is a petient of Dr . Borookhim and since he has been his patient he has been as healthy and active as he was 20 years ago. Last year he was taken to the emergency department in Cedars-Sinai hopsital for very low sugar level, there my husband got to know about Dr Borookhim. The first time when my father-in-law went to see Dr .Borookhim he was barely able to walk, in a nut shell he was not in a very good shape. But since then his condition started to improve .His regular doctor before just used to see him once every few months and never discussed anything about his condition with us . This is never the case with Dr. Borookhim , he makes it a point to discuss his medications , his test results and any changes in his condition with us. Not only that ,he personally calls and explains the changes he makes with his medication and the reason for the changes. Dr. Borookhim is not only a dedicated physician , but also a kind , polite and an amazing human being , which are the qualities that makes him a "GREAT" doctor . Our family feels very "fortunate" to have known him as a physician and as a person.

DR.B SAVED MY LIFE!!! I recently went to have out patient surgery at Cedars-Sinai Hospital and ended up staying for three days. That is where I meet the amazing Dr. Borookhim. While I was having out patient surgery on my knee, my sugars escalated and Dr. B was called in to care for me. It was then that I found out that I have type 2 Diabetes. Since that day my life changed tremendously and Dr. B was there for me. His gentle calm manner and diligence has guided me with this new way of life. What really makes me feel comfortable about Dr.B is his professionalism and caring demeanor when your in his office. I really appreciate his no nonsense approach rather than talking in circles in a language only doctors can understand. I especially like the way he takes time with each patient rather than herding us in and out, plenty of time to ask questions. If you need to get a hold of him, he is available all the time either by phone or internet and returns all calls so quickly. He has impressed me so much that he will be my doctor for life and to top that off I live in Las Vegas,NV.He is definetly worth the drive! Like we say in Vegas; Dr. B is a 5 STAR, 5 DIAMOND rating! Cheers to Dr. B!

I recently moved to LA and didn't have a general physician when I came down with an awful virus, so I went online and came across all the glowing reviews about Dr. Borookhim. I called his office to set up an appointment ,which is usually very difficult if you're a new patient, but I instantly got a call back from the DOCTOR himself and he managed to fit me in that morning! He was extremely attentive during the exam and even when I questioned his diagnosis by asking for a strep test (which came out negative as he predicted), he was totally courteous and friendly. He made a point to tell me that he doesn't prescribe unnecessary antibiotics, which I really appreciate. Dr. Borookhim even called me TWICE to follow-up , which I've never had a doctor do before, and was basically an all-around amazing resource throughout my illness. I'm so glad I found such a great doctor on my first try in a new city!

Very impressed with this doctor.. Took time out to work on the diagnosis. Very careful and very caring. The fact that he is also charming won't hurt either.. He is young but seems very motivated and yet very kind. Seemed very good-natured and fully competent. Another huge bonus is the nice staff. It's so hard to find nice receptionist in any doctor's office anywhere. The receptionist is very nice, very COURTEOUS, and caring just like the doctor. The doctor himself shows no authority, shows no distance, and overall very personal and genuine. He personally e-mails and even calls to check up on you. -- unheard of --
Pros: Good character of the doctor. Helpful / Real , no authority, compassion
Cons: NA

I actually found out about Dr. B courtesy of Yelp. The man is like a celebrity on that site with “5 star” ratings everywhere and since I needed to get a physical I decided to schedule an appointment with his office. Considering the popularity of this guy I thought there was going to be a waiting list a mile long with his next available appointment sometime in 2009. Much to my surprise his kind receptionist, Rebecca, got me right in within a few days time. Now I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m not a big fan of Doctor’s offices, or Dentists for that matter, but I have to say Doctor B. made me feel right at home. He’s got a terrific beside manner and really pays special attention to all of your questions and concerns. I’m almost afraid to write anymore for fear that everyone will want to ditch their current physician and sign up with this guy! But how can I deny my new doctor such praise. Folks, if you’re looking for a top notch doc give Dr. B’s office a call. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did!

I was blessed with Dr.Borookhim upon my enmergency hospital visit that tuned into a three day stay.I have had problem in past ,and with Dr.B he has taken the time to listen and care for me.He has a great heart and love for medicine.Dr.B takes his practice with love and great care to render aid to those in need.I like the thought that when I need his care he makes time to see me and or if I call at any time I can reach him as well.No operator or upset doctor on the other end of the line.I finally have a doctor that listens and cares about how I feel. My family and I give Dr.Borookhim our love and respect.God bless him!

I sought a great doctor, and what I mean by a great doctor is such a complex definition is that I can only define it by example. Like most people I wanted the best, and I needed someone who had the bedside manner to deliver the message (and have me accept it) since it was obvious I hadn’t been to a doctor in a while. I needed a doctor who showed kindness and compassion in helping me to address my problem, and worked with me to find a solution that would be workable within the confines of what I could do physically and afford financially. I needed a doctor who didn’t just prescribe me some pills to send me on my way. I needed someone who would answer my calls or emails as I had questions or as I encountered obstacles in my road to good health. I needed a doctor who made me feel important, and who showed he actually cared about my health and well being. I needed to feel I was his only patient when I was with him. I needed someone who had a great staff since I call a lot, and his assistant Rebecca is a God send. I felt I needed all these things in a good doctor since I am trusting my life to this person. Dr. Michael Borookhim is all these things. My journey is well on its way, and I feel my life is in good hands. I’m sure other testimonials will tell you of the things Dr. B does, but I just wanted to give my point of view on a doctor I found to be a “great doctor,” but maybe even a better person. I hope my words can maybe help someone looking for what I was looking for. Good health to you all.
Pros: Great doctor with great demeanor
Cons: None

I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon Dr. Borookhim after an emergency room visit. Two doctors actually misdiagnosed my problem, and if it weren't for Dr. Borookhim's absolute commitment and relentless thoroughness, I would have been prematurely sent home and could have faced severe complications. This doctor literally saved my life, and I can't recommend him highly enough.

This doctor is prompt and a straight-shooter. Instead of running up the bill, he'll tell you if he thinks a particular test is a waste of time and which he feels is a good investment (and why). He doesn't take other calls during your appointment time, nor is his ego offended by questions. (He also had a very astute and logical answer to the question I had.) This doctor follows up by e-mail promptly; tried to find me a specialist for a procedure who didn't first require a consultation (which we both agreed wasn't needed under the circumstances); & then called me a day after our appointment to see if that specialist had contacted me. Dr B. isn't too open to alternative medicine, but if you're looking for a traditional internist who seems more interested in practicing medicine than golfing, he seems like a really good choice.
