After being dissapointed by Jin Patisserie in Venice I decided to continue looking for that perfect macaron at chantilly. Im glad to report that I found that perfect texture I was looking for. I wish that they would carry a larger variety of flavors like mint or pistachio but I will remain content for the time being. Their strawberry cake is also worth a try. I feel that it doesnt get better than chantilly but I heard that Paulette carries a broad variety of flavors that I am eager to try. You definitely get outstanding quality for the price.
- Pros: quality
- Cons: closed tues.
Franco-Japanese sweets reign supreme at this lovely South Bay bakery.

Following the same clean, minimal and modern aesthetic of the cafe, the Japanese-inspired pastries prepared in this pretty little shop are artful and welcoming. Pastry chef Keiko Nojima has created a patisserie that is rooted in tradition yet branches out into new sweet territory. Every detail is carefully handcrafted by the chef, with each pastry guaranteed to be made fresh daily with no additives or preservatives. From the white mini pyramids of Chantilly Fromage(a signature cheesecake with a creamy cheese filling, baked on a honey graham cracker crust) to the colorful macaroons in flavors like Lavender Earl Grey and citron, this place knows just what it takes to hit the perfect sweet spot.
South Bay's finest dessert

After many weeks and several recommendations from a handful of friends, I finally made the drive to this patisserie. At first, you might be a little surprised at the location of Chantilly, perhaps questioning yourself as to why it's in a small, not-so-great-looking strip mall. However, once you step inside, you forget all that. The full wall window and bare white and limegreen walls make way for a chic yet quaint little store. Before the young woman behind the counter can welcome you, you are greeted by the large display case full of their confections. This place was quite hyped up by my friends, and I in no way was anywhere close to being disappointed. After cafeful deliberation, I decided on the passion fruit mousse and the caramel macchiato, along with a tall glass of ice-cold milk. It was so divine!!!! I enjoyed them both so much, I went back up and purchased 3 different items to take home. I highly recommend the 2 I mentioned above, as well as the sesame seed cream puff. I definitely will be visiting this place again.
- Pros: parking, service, prices
- Cons: could possibly be hard to find
