Love this place, Kicks KFC's Butt.

This is a casual Middle Eastern restaurant that is famous for rotisserie chicken. The food is consistently perfect. They are expanding their menu too. The service is great. Even great for vegetarians. Best Falafels ever, best hummus ever, fresh pita bread, amazing garlic sauce, tasty roasted chicken, yummy tabouli. Variety of sandwiches, sides and combo plates. Best Middle Eastern restaurant, I wouldn't call it "fast food", but it is rather speedy. This location is actually well decorated. For what you get, it is at a great value.
- Pros: Full Satisfaction
- Cons: None

Best Zankou in LA
by famousblueraincoat at Citysearch
I've eaten at most of the Zankous around town and this is hands down the best. I used to go to the Sunset & Normandie one for years, charmed by the parking "helpers," the expanded run-down strip mall location and the surly cashiers. It doesn't have to be that way, folks. This Zankou has THE best chicken schwarmas. The garlic sauce has that extra zip to it and the chicken and pita are just the right degree of crispy. It's never overcooked and dry or greasy. Occasionally, they are a bit too liberal with the sauce though. And it's actually a very nice looking restaurant, with super easy parking. The staff are pretty nice too.
- Pros: great food, tons of free parking, excellent value
- Cons: sometimes too much garlic sauce
Armenian roasted chicken that sizzles in the heart of Hollywood.

The Scene
The original Zankou Chicken isn't much to look at: a narrow slice in an unremarkable Hollywood strip mall. But the glowing critical accolades Zankou has garnered--blown up, framed and proudly displayed--foreshadow fabulous fare that will quickly make you forget the orange Formica and faux wood-paneled ambience.
The Food
Spit-roasted chicken attracts most of the attention and deservedly so. Tender, moist and permeated with flavor, it's rotisserie roasted to crisp perfection. But the rest of the menu easily meets or beats the bird. Soujouk is an Armenian beef sausage that takes the term spicy to new heights--not simply hot, it's a marvelous melange of fiery flavors combined with subtler nuances. The tarna sandwich (chunks of spit-roasted chicken slices) is much milder, though no less complex. Then there are the sides--tabbouleh, hummus, zippy stuffed grape leaves and a divinely addictive mutabbal (baba ghanouj).
Best Fast Food Ever!!

I didn't know such a place existed! I've been eating the legendary Zankou for a looong time, can't get enough of it, but this place doesn't look like any other fast food joint. Maybe more like an Italian landmark, with a French twist. The food is still the best but the decor is the best I've seen for a fast food restaurant.
I usually get the Tri-Tip sandwich, which makes me salivate just thinking about it. But everything else is just as great, or even better. Service is very friendly. Ambience makes you feel like you're in Heaven. There's also an outdoor seating spot with heating , and a great frozen yogurt and gelato store next door for desserts. I love you Zankou. Marry me.
- Pros: Beautiful Ambience, Still the Best Food
- Cons: Can't think of any.
The Nicest Zankou of them all
by dmenkes at Citysearch
Years ago I lived in Pasadena and was introduced to the Zankou on Colorado. Once I had the half-chicken plate with the garlic sauce, I was hooked. When I moved back to LA I waited anxiously for the one on Sepulveda to open, and frequented it regularly once it was. Now that I'm living in Burbank, one of the first places I went to was the Zankou on San Fernando. What I expected was consistently decent, healthy fast food and low prices. That I got. What I didn't expect was the relatively fancy decorum. I'm used to the hard yellow plastic seats, so what a surprise to see booths! In a Zankou! I couldn't believe it. Same prices and menu, but great location. Parking's a bit limited so you might have to park in the Ralph's parking lot nearby during rush times.
- Pros: Fancier than other locations
- Cons: Limited parking
