worthless! stay away!
by lance341
I had been here a couple of times as it is a good place to watch sports/kill time. The food on the menu is pretty uninteresting and overpriced so I figured I'd bring a burger or two in from a nearby chain. The peasant bartender obviously saw me bring the food in and place it on the bar, but waits for me to order a drink and hand him the money for it before telling me "no outside food". What a loser! After tipping him $0 and drinking the beer I left and will never be back. The $4 he got from me on that drink is nothing compared to what I would have spent that day or in the future if he had just been straight up and either let me eat my food there or told me "no outside food" before I ordered and paid for the drink. Oh yeah, this place is a major sausage fest.
- Pros: lots of TVs, sports
- Cons: parking, bad food, overpriced, too many males
Fun bar for the college-age crowd
by jenheidir
The large bar takes up the majority of the room inside this dark, UCLA hangout. A crowd that?s mostly students mingle, dance, drink and watch sports on the dozen or so plasma TVs on the wall. Warning: There?s usually long lines to get into this place on weekends, and anyone out of college will feel a little out of place.
Watch your bank statement!

This bar charged me TWICE as much as my tab after I had left. I found out when I checked my online statement the next day. Scammers...
- Pros: Hot bartender
- Cons: she's a scam artist
Such a College Bar
by jhoolko
First of all, it's called Maloney's. Second of all, it's not that great. Unless you're a UCLA student, then it's awesome cause you know EVERYONE in there, but it still isn't that great. Think very dark, very crowded (like, I've waited over an hour before...not worth it) and very college. If you're not a UCLA student or a friend of a UCLA student, you pretty much have no reason to be here unless you're a creepy older person trying to score a young date. Anyways, the bottom line is, if there IS a line, don't wait in it, cause you're still just going to be standing around waiting once you get inside. Just go to Brewco at that point. The only time I like going to Maloney's is early on a Tuesday night. You can start out with 50 cent pints around the block at Seppi's subs, then when those run out, hustle over to Maloney's while there's still no wait. Then you have the freedom to snag a table with your friends, grab a $4 Tuesday Special Liter Beer, and hang out till the throngs start rushing in. Then you can leave before it gets too awful. Great!
- Pros: Cheap Liters on Tuesdays, Good for UCLA students
- Cons: Gets way too crowded, can be a little over-college-y, loud, pay parking
Awesome college bar!

They changed the name to O'Hara's, but the only people who call it that are freshmen who don't know better. Maloney's is a great spot to hang out with the partying crowd of UCLA for some drunken good times. Especially fun is "pint night" on Tuesdays, where the pints are $2 and the liters are $4. The music is always blasting, and while there is technically no dance floor, people definately get down as the night goes on. Best to go a little buzzed, because the loud music and cramped inside can get old after a while. The only annoying thing is the ridiculously long lines. If you get there after 10, expect a wait because the bouncers like to go on a power trip. But once you get in, expect a party.
Awesome and Fun Bar!

maloney's is the only place in westwood i would even consider partying, it is so fun! the crowd tends to be generally college kids, and it is always crowded. drinks are good and not too expensive. if you are looking for a place to go in westwood, choose maloneys! the girls are hot too (especially this new little blond waitress...ohhhhhhh my!!) check it out
- Pros: crowd and staff
- Cons: sometimes it gets a little toooo crowded for my tastes, no dancing/pool tables/darts etc
Great college bar

Maloney's, one of two bars in the Westwood area, is totally superior to BrewCo. The crowd is a lot younger and more fun- I find myself just standing around waiting to get the bartender's attention at BrewCo. The only drawback to Maloney's is the drink selection- I've ordered some things that the bartenders didn't know how to make. Otherwise, it's always a great place to go with friends!
Fun for UCLA students
by cutiekatie
Being one of two bars in Westwood Village, Maloney's is a great place for UCLA students to catch up and have a few drinks. It can get a little crowded and sometimes the bouncers back up the line to make it seem more popular, so go before 11 to get in without a problem. Or you can try Brew Co down the street, where those who find Maloney's too crowded go.
- Pros: fun UCLA crowd, drinks
- Cons: some drinks aren't made, like mojitos

- Pros: Atmosphere, Service, Location
We're Goin to Maloney's!!!!
by weregointomaloneys
I go to Maloney's many nights a week. It might be just about the greatest bar in Westwood to go with your buddies, have some beers, and meet some broads. One of the greatest treats afterwards is buck fifties on the walk home which will always be open late after Maloney's closes on the crowded nights. Brew Co. is continually lame with yuppies and grad stduents in a restaurant-like atmostphere. Beer specials could be more often because they're usually reserved for only tuesday and saturday nights. But there is nothing like those nights. I schedule my week around 4-Dollar-Liter-Tuesdays! Another drawback is the awkward old people that sporatically appear and also the haggard broads that come around. ps: there is a hot blonde bartender
- Pros: Liters, Not BrewCo, Frankie
- Cons: beer specials, lines, Scotty the Bouncer
